Just An Idea For Mini Meets

This is just an idea. And it may not work, but hopefully it will inspire some fresh ideas that we can send Marsha's way. :)

I was wondering if we if could have "MK Day", "AK Day", "MGM Day", and "EPCOT Day".

I'll use last year's events as an example: On MK Day we could do the MK thrill rides, the fantasyland meet, the Buzz Lightyear meet, the Dole Whip meet, etc.

And on MGM Day we could focus on those thrill rides, the Osbourne Lights, Fantasmic, etc.

I have no idea how this would work.......I'm just throwing it out there. It seems that we spent a lot of time last year just trying to get from one park to another and sometimes yet another and it took up a lot of precious time. This way we would stay in one park for most of the day, and perhaps only leave at the end of the day to attend a 'night event' somewhere else.

What do you think? And if this idea 'stinks' please say so.......but be nice about it. ;) ;) ;)

No, actually I think that is a great idea.

I really hated riding those buses in my wheelchair. I had to wear like 3 or 4 seatbelts while everybody else got to :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Oh wait a minute, Tia was the one that followed us around once we got there because she had no clue what was going on. All that planning just went out the window once she got to WDW. :D

Tia, I like the idea of a park a day thing. We could even do it where it's just the morning and early afternoon-like we did for our Fantasyland though Dole Whip meets. We had lunch right after that and everyone split up. That way if someone wanted take a nap, swim or shop, they could. I really think this could work out very well! Great thinking, girl! :D :D
I want to make sure we do the two shows at AK, Corinne. I love the Tarzan and Lion King shows! They would be fun to do with a group!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I really like this idea, Tia. Makes a lot of sense to me. The day we had the Fantasyland meet, the Dole Whip meet, and the Aladdin meet worked out pretty well.

And I'd really enjoy a Universal meet as well.

Maybe do a Universal meet on the same day as the AK meet. I would do the AK meets but I know other folks aren't as interested in AK as I am.

Alternatively, do the Universal meet on Mon or Tues before DISCON officially starts? Or on Sunday?

Since I doubt (correct me if I'm wrong) that Pete is planning any 'Universal Studios' events, perhaps we should have a Universal meet before or after the 'official' DIS-Con dates. It would be difficult to go to Universal all day and then have to head back to DISney for an 'official event' such as Illuminations or something similar. Or would it be that difficult? :confused: I don't really know because it's been a million years since I've been to Univ. and I know we didn't go back to a DISney park afterwards. ::sigh::

As for the Sunday AFTER DIS-Con.....I'm hoping most of us will reserve this evening for MVMCP again. (hopefully it will be offered this evening) :)

Karen, the one thing we're going to try not to do this year is plan more than one event for a particular time. We had a few meets where no one showed up because they were up against something else. We can do an AK day one day and those that don't want to participate can do their own thing that day. The same can hold true for the other park days. I agree with Tia. If we decide to have a Universal day, then it would probably be best to do that before or after DIS-CON. We don't want to have to rush back from Universal to make an event. We found that packing too many things into one day didn't seem to work. We ended up being totally pooped! :D :D Of course, everything we discuss is still very tentative as we don't know what Pete has in store for us!! ;) :D ;) :D

First, let me say thank you the e-mail update on Pete's new message, Tia. Besides my regular work schedule, I've been teaching for eight hours during the daytime on Monday, Wednesday and Friday...hahaha.

I think that is a great idea, Tia. I enjoyed your Fantasyland meet last year and then the Buzz Lightyear and other combination meets.

So, I added a WDW Park Day mini-meet to the other mini-meets.

I also took your ame off the host for the Fantasyland mini-meet, although I left the meet there for interested parties. I bet a lot of families with small children would enjoy it this year.

I need to add a Universal Day mini-meet to the list, Barry. I'll do that tonight, if that's alright.

And it is a good idea Steve and Barb and everyone, isn't it? I like the way Tia thinks.
