Rental homes experience in San Diego area?

:goodvibes Just posted this on another thread but that is really about hotels. We loved vrbo and wondered if any of the good folks here have experience in that area.
It worked so well for us in Orlando - 5 brm house for $160 a night for two families with pool, hot tub, etc. But we would love to go to SD for a change.

I've rented from vrbo or vacationrentals.com every year for the last 4 years, and had no problems. But we've rented in the summer. Haven't tried it off-season, though I know rates are cheaper and you can rent by the night, not a week.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping to hear good things about SD rentals. We have the experience in Orlando but that's about it.
