Get together in Charlotte?

Fellow DIS brethren:

Do the DISboard members get together in the Charlotte area on occasion for a meet and greet? Even though I am new to the DIS I think it would be great to get together with fellow fans and get to meet people in person.

So... does it happen? If so... when, where, how often? If not, anyone else think it is a good idea?

Should I be posting this somewhere else?

Oops... I am responding late and via my Blackberry so I hope it works. I am in Atlanta for the weekend so Sunday is out.

BTW... I love the whole more cowbell thing.

I am up for meeting. We could meet up in a local place.

I see 43 people have read but there is only one response. I am new to the board and so I don't know what the community is like. Are people kind of freaked out by meeting in public? Are there concerns about predators, weirdos and such? I'll be honest that I joined the board to make Disney friends not to get trip planning advice, though if I find out something new... All the better.

I just think it would be nice for people with a similar passion to meet together from time to time, watch Disney movies, go on trips, etc.

Let me know about another time. I will try to check the boards more often.

BooYAH! Sounds good to me! We could hit Harpers over at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville. Let me check with the wife and see what dates are open. Perhaps we could do it next weekend.

Harpers has great food, reasonable prices and large quantities in a great atmosphere. I'd rather be eating at Narcoose's, but for outside of WDW it works.

Plus... Their keylime pie is excellent and is a huge slab!

I am in Indian Trail, SE of Charlotte- I'd be up to meet some time. It seems like I am the only DISer I know in my neck of the woods, despite having lots of friends who like Disney as much as I do. I can't seem to talk any of them into getting hooked on the DIS! :laughing:

Excellent! I actually work near Indian Trail in Monroe, NC! What a small world! I eat in Indian Trail for lunch from time to time.

disneigh & us met at Harpers (Pineville Mall) a few weekends ago for dinner. We had a good time and talked about meeting up at a restaurant at the Northlake mall (i-77, exit 18) next time since we are not in the immediate Charlotte area. Y'all interested in meeting there?

That could be a go for me, I can never be sure because of my job. As of now I have no work on the 30th but a phone call could change that... I am a freelancer so my schedule is always changing. It would be great to meet everybody.....Give me a place and a time and I will be there. I am in the South Charlotte area, but am willing to drive.

My wife and I joined the DVC in January of this year [2008] however have been to Disney World many times in years past. We completed our first stay as a DVC member in May at OKW. We loved it and grandma and grandpa joined us in a two bedroom suite.

We will be at Disney World the week of Thanksgiving from Sunday night through Friday morning. Currently we are booked at Saratoga Springs and are on the waiting list for OKW and AKL.

Would love to meet other Disney Lovers from the Charlotte area.

We are south of Matthews at Mckey and Weddington Rd.

I just got out of work got the call on thursday I had to work. I was not sure how late I was working today so I did not plan anything for today. I am thinking its going to be kinda late for today to make plans. Monday also looks good. If not at least maybe we can meet up with wildeoscar...
