Disney inspired makeup!! PLUS NEW HALLOWEEN IDEAS! Added 10/30!

Hey everyone :)

disneyL0VE and I were talking on the phone last night and we both discussed doing Disney Makeup tonight just for fun because we both love doing makeup. I decided a week ago that I was going to dress up as an incredible for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party, so I already knew what makeup I was doing. Both disneyL0VE and I have macs, so we've been on ichat watching and talking to eachother while we do makeup because we are cousins who live on opposite sides of the country (and we're best friends). We were inspired to do Disney Makeup because of a youtube video. My original post about the youtube video is right here :

What I did for my look is I used a defined eyeliner to secure the outline of the mask (of course I used a translucent powder to make sure my skin was nice and primered for the event !). I filled it in with a cream eyeshadow. This took a while because I wanted to make sure the color was evenly distributed. I played with shape with how it would look good on my face and finally got a shape that I liked. I finished by blending towards my top lid to my eyeliner with gold eyeshadow. I also put fake lashes on and red lips. I put a layer of shiny black eyeshadow over the top of my mask to keep it matte and to ensure that the mask would stay :) Hope you guys enjoy !!

Girl, you ROCK!!! I've been a professional makeup artist ever since 1987, and I LOVE the professional look of your eyeshadow!!! It can be very, VERY difficult to work on 'Asian eyes', due specifically to the general (but not always the case) 'lack' of 'depth' within the crease/brow area) BUT girl, you really know how to work that eyeshadow brush. Holy smokes!! (My Asian clients taught me a lot about how to form a nice crease, etc. via using eyeshadow.) :yay: You did a remarkable job, and not only that, but it was totally EVEN!!!


Also, wazowskiLOVER:), you did a GREAT job on Elastigirl as well!! Wow!!! VERY nice job!!!

I can learn a few thing from you ladies, thanks so much for posting! :banana:

P.S. Disneylove, may I ask what brand of eyeshadow you were using??? It was a VERY even application, and is remarkably AWESOME!!! GOOD STUFF!!! :)

I loved reading this comment! Thank so much jory29! I am extremely flattered after knowing you are a Pro MUA ! It took me awhile to blend that sucker out. I'm extremely jealous of those who have creases cause it looks more defined, but I have to work with what God gave me :rotfl:

About the eyeshadow, you're never going to believe this but wazowskiLOVER & I have this palette called Wales that we bought off ebay and was shipped to China. I would LOVE to use MAC but, not in the budget right now :sad1:

Haha, you're welcome! I really enjoyed doing this!

Really, you'll mainly be using..
- Gold
- Light & Dark Teal
- with a hint of Green (not too heavy though).
- Neutral color that matches close to your skin tone for you highlight!

You will also be needing a Dark Brown/Mauve color as your contour/blush color.

Thanks jory29 ! Its a great compliment to get. You should really check out the Wales Palette. I LOVE IT. I use it all the time (after I put primer on my lids). The colors are so pigmented and I like how they have a mix of matte and metalics. They're great to play with. Especially when you like to play with makeup colors!!

Thank you! That is such a great compliment, like my cousin said! The palette is GREAT! We don't have to buy any colors for a while :laughing: One thing about this palette though, you DO need a good primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion), like my cousin mentioned above me. Also pack the color on because sometimes the true color doesn't always show when you brush it, but I bet you already know that! :rotfl:

Thank you so much !!! I love red lips. I've been doing retro makeup for almost a year now because I'm so inspired by Dita Von Teese. I use two different colors of MAC lipstick and a liner. The liner is Brick, and the two lipsticks are Russian Red and Viva. You should check em out ! They rock !

This was a Mike Wazowski "inspired" look, so it isn't TRUE to him. I took ideas and his color palette to create this look. The main things I wanted to express were his yellow spots on his underbelly, the "scaly" look, and overall color scheme. I hope you guys enjoy !!

So with the request of a couple of people, we did Disney Princesses. I guess the reason why we held off on doing 'em is because they are almost what we do everyday with our regular makeup.

I did my hair to match her look and when she posts it, so did my cousin disneyL0VE!

FYI: I photoshopped my eyes and hair to look more like Ariel. The first photo is all me though ;)

I think that if you do what my cousin did with her hair and lay the head band on top it should be fine. My cousin put two big rollers in her bangs and let them set. After, she pinned and hair sprayed. At least I think thats what she did. Hopefully she can give you a better answer.

This was a request from my brother, TheAXIOM.. He requested for me to do Mulan in the Matchmaker scene. So basically, a Geisha! If you notice little black smudges on one of my eyes, please disregard it. It's extremely hard to clean something up when your face is white :laughing:

This was a request from my brother, TheAXIOM.. He requested for me to do Mulan in the Matchmaker scene. So basically, a Geisha! If you notice little black smudges on one of my eyes, please disregard it. It's extremely hard to clean something up when your face is white :laughing:

Oh gosh. I LOVE the site you suggested. Its sooo fun to look at, and thank you for the compliments on the pinks. The color I used for the lower lid is called Jacki by Benefit (its loose powder) and it has pink/gold to it. It shimmers both colors. Its my favveee in the whole world !!! I'm glad you noticed it!

Both disneyL0VE and I have itty bitty lashes (family curse!), so most of the time we use false eyelashes. The ones she used today were by N.Y.C. You can find those at most walgreens, longs, and rite aids. The lash adhesive that we use is called LashGrip Eyelash Adhesive. I hope that helps !

The ones I used are from NYC - 973A, they're kind of long so I don't know how you'll feel about that. You just need to get use to it.

I can't sleep because I'm excited that me and the cuzzz are going to do another look tomorrow; well today since its passed midnight in California. That will probably make things worse because I'll have to ice my bags under my eyes tomorrow before I even try to attempt to do makeup ! HAHA :laughing:

For those interested in further trying to play with makeup artistically, I've keyed into a tip/product that people use. They are water based colors that are actually used for face painting/clown makeup. I know that sounds weird but I found some really cool stuff.

I really want to buy the palettes of the makeup just because you get more for your money. There are three major brands that I've been looking at all night. They are Kryolan, Mehron, and Ben Nye. From what I've seen through makeup reviews on youtube, they all pretty much do the same thing. I'm leaning towards getting the Mehron palettes though just because they're just a little less expensive and I like the way the palette looks.

What most people use them for is a color base; this helps the eyeshadows that you are planning to use have more "pop" on your face after you put them on top of the color layer of the paints. The eyeshadow colors tend to be more vibrant and you have less fall out (eyeshadow not staying to your skin). They are also fantastic for when you want to do full face masks (which disneyL0VE and I have ALOT of fun with).

I'm sorry I'm ranting because I can't sleep HAHA.

I hope all of you been having a good day! I stayed up pretty late last night and woke up at 8 and kept doing my theatre makeup research. I'm obsessed !

disneyL0VE and I wanted to go a completely different direction and went for Disney Villains. I hope that all you people enjoy this because it was a challenge for me.

For our big looks, it usually takes us about 2 hrs because we discuss ideas in between through ichat. Thank god for the magic of the internet. We live across the country and still get to do makeup looks together every day haha. Its kind of weird for us to do everyday makeup now because its so fast to do :laughing:

I actually will probably end up with a comparable brand depending on what the store has. I was aiming for the basic set that had white, black, yellow, red, blue, and orange. The brushes I use come from Sephora, but you don't necessarily need to get 'em from them. There are some brushes that are pretty good at cheaper places like Target. The main thing is to make sure they are smooth and can make seamless lines. Also it is a good idea for some of them to be firm. So when you test out brushes put the tip to your palm and push a little, there should be less give to it. In terms of brushes for the mehron products, I would recommend going to somewhere like Michael's and test out the paint brushes there. Check out the less expensive ones and see how they feel on your skin. After all, you're the one who is going to have to be applicating the makeup. You should be comfortable with the brush :) I hope this helps !

DisneyMomma81, for the painter brushes that my cousin was talking about from Michael's.. go for the Loew-Cornell brushes! Especially the purple handled ones. They are extremely soft and stiff! They will be perfect for the palette you recently bought.

While hers was good too, she used pink lips which kinda put me off because Snow White obviously has red lips. So, I think you captured the look much better, because its simple and beautiful. Yay you did my favorite, Snow White! I saw the original link that was posted with the youtube video, about the Snow White makeup. While hers was good too, she used pink lips which kinda put me off because Snow White obviously has red lips. So, I think you captured the look much better, because its simple and beautiful. I know I'd love that haha ! Sometimes I want to lurk in there and just play makeup but I always feel bad and also worried about using the testers because who knows who touched them!


I'm the same way. Whenever my hand reaches out to test something it automatically goes back down again. It bugs me when people don't use the applicators they have ALL around the store to test the products. I've seen enough people use testers to never want to use them :scared: (makeup testers that is, not perfume of lotion).

Anyways, enough about me. Keep up the great work! I'm loving checking out your new creations!

Hey Guys !

I gave in and bought a Kryolan makeup palette at a costume shop today because I couldn't resist. My cousin is coming tomorrow (TheAXIOM) and I want to practice some makeup on him for our halloween trip. This is not so much Disney themed, except for Nightmare Before Christmas (my fave Halloween movie). This didn't take me too long to do, probably about an hour tops.
