wazowski, for my "Sally" make up, I did not end up buying the kryolan aquacolor, but I went to Michaels on Saturday to pick up a few things and stumbled upon a watercolor face painting kit that had the most unbelievably perfect shade of blue/green already in it! It was water based, so no greasy-greasy and I bought a good set of brushes too.

Went home and did a trial run and it turned out GREAT!!!! Im super excited now and wanted to thank you for your help and inspiration. Had I not seen it, I probably wouldnt have done it.

Oh thats SO great that you found good water based makeup!! I'm glad you found something that worked because its a pain in the butt to find theatrical makeup. Its a little easier right now because its Halloween costume shopping time ;)

Really fun new looks! The Peter Pan was inspired and wonderful, the red stroke was creative and a great tie-in!

The Skunk was so cute! The use of shadowing on the thumper made the look zing.... Randall looked like it took forever! That's a lot of dedication and it shows. The hairy monster looks exactly like the one shown, great job with the extra hairy-ness! LOL

I Looooove interpreting texture with makeup. I have to say, that is the biggest challenge with our looks and the most creative. I tend to hate doing it in the beginning, but end up loving it in the end ;)



In general to all :

I wanted to let you guys know that we have not fell off the face of the earth in terms of makeup. We both have been SO busy with preparing for our big trip this FRIDAY!!! YAY!!! I'm SOOOO stoked, you will not believe! To begin with, my fiancee (shyboy72) bought me an AP !!! How awesome is he ?!?! Also, I've hand painted 11 shirts, made my costume, sewed 4 treat bags, made 4 lgmh badges, and a lgmh keychain. This is alll while trying to juggle being a full time student and part time waitress. It has DEFINITELY been trying at times !

BUT my point is, that my cousin and I will be doing a TR when we get back (of course) and will share many pictures of our looks at DL. She is going to be Ursula and I am going be the Cheshire Cat ! Geez, I didn't get to my point yet...

OKAY, the BIIIIG point is that we will be doing kind of a 'special edition' look on Monday afternoon, maybe not posting right away though because .... SHE WILL BE AT MY HOUSE !!

AMAZING, I know. We live like a whole country apart and will finally be able to do looks together in one room for the very FIRST time EVER. How weird is that ?

I'm a graphic designer, so I tend to like to dissect principles/themes/ideas from a subject and use them in different ways. I like to do that with makeup. I like to take a less popularized character and take aspects of them and translate it to what I like about them :)

I learned how to do makeup from magazines, youtube, and acrylic painting ;)

I would LOOOOVE to work for Disney. That would be the ultimate job for me right now. How great would that be to wake up, go to work and make art on people's faces. That would be AMAZING !!

Thank you for that compliment ! It took me about an hour & a half? Jazzie took an hour & 15 I think. She was able to do her cousin-in-law, & her 2 future sister-in-laws within a time frame of like 2-3 hours ? (We didn't really look at the time) I spent the most time on my make up & my brother's especially. His took like almost 2 hours because things kept going wrong. :(

I got a few compliments & same with Jazzie. Some couldn't tell who she was though! :) My brother & her cousin-in-law got the MOST compliments out of us all ! :goodvibes

Thank you for posting your eyeliner tut too! I usually use pencil and then fill in what I couldn't get with wet eyeshadow with a flat brush. I've always had a hard time with liquid, but I love how you do the cat-eye-ish on yours. It really brings out your Asian-ish eyes. I have the same almond eyes and I would love to bring mine out more. I need to just sit down next weekend and practice. :)

Since MAC pigments are expensive , you can get Chrome Yellow eyeshadow or whatever the name of it is. Its cheaper than a pigment. If you prefer a pigment, you should go to www.thebodyneeds.com for sample size of the MAC pigments. Im not sure if they have a yellow there but its a great site !

Oh also, if you want you can go to MAC and ask if you can get a pigment sample of the chrome yellow. Sometimes they'll be cool about it, sometimes they wont. For sure though, try because I know you won't need more than a sample amount since that color is so shockingly yellow ;)

I actually found them at Walmart !! How cool is that ? Just check in the Halloween section. Though I have to warn you, they are SUUUUPER heavy on the eyes and if you're gonna be partying it up that night, you might want to consider lighter ones :)

No problem !! Actually its a total of 5. If you only have a couple then go for that :) I only did 5 because I have a palette with 88 colors so there is a variation of colors. Just blend the amount of colors you have with a fluffy brush ;)

I actually got the glitter from MAC, but I went to Longs and bought some yellow glitter there from NYX. So you can probably find some at your local drug store ;)

I'm sooo glad. When Kaycee first did it, she told me to right away before I bought another bottle and I was sooo glad I did. That was atleast a month ago ! Try to put all that product into a container that is air sealed. This will keep it from drying out ! I'm not sure if the gram jars that you can get are good enough. You might want to look into storage stores to see if they have something good for that ! Either way, WOOO you have more product !

I also agree with you on Urban Decay's packaging. A lot of their stuff is packaged TOTALLLLY lame. Its disappointing. You'd think they'd have better designers working on it since their products are pretty steep in prices !

Halloween Time !

Even though Halloween is done with, I still wanted to post this because I happen to loooove the way it turned out. I did my makeup early on Friday because I started work at 3 and my cousin was coming over at 12:45 for me to do his makeup. I wanted to make sure I got mine done before he got to my house because I was cutting it close on time ! I even managed to go to a costume shop to get more white pigment (kryolan aquacolor) before doing my makeup!!!

So here it is :

I altered my makeup slightly from my initial work of the cheshire cat look & also tried out new lashes! I'm sad that I didn't wear those at MTOTP because I liked my look the best with those on. HRMPH. Oh well !

I didn't have any loose glitter so it's not as sparkly as I think it should be. I also did a horrible job at applying fake eyelashes for the first time - what a comedy of errors!! :)

Then about five minutes later my face was on fire. :scared1: I started turning red and blotchy. :sad2: I washed my face and tried with out the primer or concealer and the burn would not go away....:headache: I finally took it all off and waited about an hour and the burning had toned down some. I got my smashbox out and I was ok, but the burning stayed all night. :sad1: my face looks pretty much sweaty the whole night because of the burn. :headache: however, I had a fabulous time.... :goodvibes


and I've been Gobbled !! :rotfl: :cheer2:

Oh NO !! I'm soo sorry. Don't worry about it at all, I had fun doing it anyway ;) Some people just have allergies to specific makeup & that is completely avoidable. Maybe you can go back to them and get your money back. I'm glad you had a great time though !

White makeup IS really hard. I've worked out this technique of mixing it so that its the consistency of soft butter and putting it on evenly then buffing it out with a dry fluffy brush to get all the imperfections cleaned up.

We actually did Disney looks, FINALLY. Yet again, school has made me busy but I made some time today. The cousin had a great idea to do attraction inspired makeup and that is exactly what we did.

I actually got them at Long's! Isn't that crazy? Whenever Halloween rolls around, I always stock up on the craaaazy loud lashes that they sell. Its so worth it in the end for me because I bought these lashes without a specific reason, but I knew I'd end up using them sooner or later ;)
