Does anyone know if/when Ridley Pearson will be making an appearance at DW? I've been on his website, but there is a two week span with Dave Barry that doesn't give locations.

Sadly, I don't think that he will be in WDW on the day of KK2's release, but I think he said he would be in WDW for a few days after the relase of his and Dave Barry's book "Science Fair".

My son is a HUGE KK fan, and has been really looking forward to the release of KK2! If I were sure he were making an appearance at WDW, I'm quite sure my family would be making an appearance, too!

Here are dates involving KK2 on Ridley Pearson's Website:

November 18-19

The book is going to be released on August 26th. You can find the first chapter of it on Ridley Pearson's website by going to the "kids side".

I hope that the 2nd book is better and more complete than the 1st. I felt that 1st book had too many holes and not enough meat.

Thanks so much for bumping this up.....my kids loved KK2 and we will be in Disney those days......so I'll be watching his website for more details.
Anybody ever been when he (or any author) does book signings....how/where, etc. Do we have to buy the book at Disney, or can we bring the one we've already bought and read twice, lol. Or...will he simply sign an autograph book so we don't have to lug a book around? And WHERE does this happen....Magic Kingdom, a resort conference room, DTD, or in the parking lot? LOL
Thanks so much!

I've never been to one of his book signings, but I know that in the past Ridley has done signings in MK, but as this book primarily takes place in AK, he would most likely be there. The book is available in a lot of bookstores around Orlando, it wouldn't be necessary to buy it on property. Regardless, I'm doubt he would mind what he was signing. For a definite answer you can easily email him through an address posted on his site. I know from personal experience he is quick to respond.

I sent him an email yesterday asking him for more details on the time/place of the signing and also asking him if he'd mind signing books other than Science Fair (I know HE may not mind, but I guess what I'm really fishing for is whether whoever is sponsoring the signing would object to other books by just him being signed when it's for a book he co-authored with Dave Barry.....and while I didn't say it, that book doesn't even begin to interest me from the description on Amazon, so I wouldn't buy it just to let the girls meet him, lol.).
I'm actually thinking we'll buy the CDs instead of the book itself, and listen to it on our plane flight (5 hours) and then also while we're there we'll be leaving WDW for 5 days to go to Grandma's for Thanksgiving and other things, so that will be a bunch of driving a week after we arrive, and then we come back to WDW). I'd probably bring along the CD box and have him sign that if he's able to do other books.
I'll let you know if I get a response from him.

My daughter went last year while she was on the CP to have her book signed - she actually did not have the book yet and bought it there but they would sign any of their books and they did not have to be bought on the spot. I would go for a book over an autograph book though - even if you have to put it into a locker for the rest of the day.
I am trying to think where the signing was - one day was at MK - but I can't remember where and the other day it was at the Contemporary.
She also said the two men were very gracious and she ran into them later in the day and they remembered her and called her by name.
She is looking forward to getting her book signed again this year.

I was wondering the same thing, sorry to hear there was no response. Maybe he just happened to be on his computer when he received my email, so I was the odd one out. Hopefully you'll get a response before you leave! :)

I e-mailed Ridley Pearson and his assistant and got a response back from both!:cool1:
Suzanne:
I don't think the details are in place. But we usually do a signing in the Contemporary or at one of the parks.
We'll post the info as we get it.
Hope to see you!
Ridley
As soon as we have times available, we will update it on Ridley's website.
