do you travel with your camper to get to Fort Wilderness? What kind of camper do you have?

We will be just under 1000 miles each way, towing a pop up. For us it is way cheaper to drive and camp than to stay at a resort.

Normally, 1002 miles each way with a popup. This trip, 0!

(We're renting Tina's 5th wheel! :thumbsup2 So I get to try out having my kids in a bunkhouse trailer and none of them have to share beds or sleep on the sofa. And I don't risk having to fold up a wet popup tent trailer in August and not be able to dry it out for almost a week until we get home. :scared: )

We travel 1010 miles per map quest one way. '02 Coachman Santara 31ft MH. But we are thinking of trading in for a toy hauler and trading the conversion van in on a Suburban!

Will be 200 miles each way in an old 85 Fleetwood Jamboree (Class C). We took it to VA this summer, 1000 miles each way and decided that our little old RV was better for short distances ;)

We're going to the Fort for the first time in 2 weeks.

2,220 miles divided by 7mpg = 317 gals x $4.59(diesel)= $1,455.03:scared1:

We leave for our Disney cruise in 12 days then it's a week at The Fort. :cool1:  :yay:

94 Fleetwood Bounder 31' Hate to tell all of you but we are 60 miles each way. Boy if I had to drive as far as some you do. I don't think I would be going 4-5 times per year. Gas just too dang expensive now. I have even heard that the Ft. prices are going up in 09. So add all that and it is an expensive trip.

Just my 2 cents

That is why we only go once a year. Too far away. That was before the gas prices went crazy. I am scared to see what they will be by the time we go in December. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Lucky you to get to live so close!

1300 miles each way, total 2600 miles pulling a pop up. Gas in June was about $1000, plus the local driving. OUCH! Still cheaper since we stay 12 nights. We are looking at other options for next year.
