A while back, there was a thread about AKV having to remove some animals from certain savannas due to the construction of Kidani Village. Does anyone recall when the animals were scheduled to be returned to the savanna? I thought it was sometime in April, but I can't find any info about it on the DVC website. Does anyone remember? Thanks!

April 15 comes to mind but I'm certainly not positive. It's just Sunset Savannah that's to be affected.

According to DVC:


Animals are not scheduled to be on Sunset Savanna from January 15, 2009, through April 15, 2009.

Just stayed there July 3-11th. I did call MS and request certain SV's. When we checked in they had me booked in Sunset Savanah. I requested a change to Zebra Trail and they switched me. We had the Best view and saw a ton of animals. The girl at check in seemed to be lacking the "disney Magical feeling" but she got over it.

The Animal curator at AKL told us in March that the dates will be flexible. He said they are going to try to keep to a minimum the amount of time the animals will be off exhibit on Sunset Savanna. Basically, it is to aclimate the animals to the new larger area, and to aclimate new animals that will be added to that savanna. He said he would try to have the animals off as little time as possible, and that they might only be off exhibit for a week or two of that time.

He told us the same thing, Diane. I know we were there about the same time. Since DVC is adjusting points after the fact, it does sound as if they're not sure of the actual dates yet....setting the parameters larger than reality probably.
