Hey fellow mouseketeers!
I am so excited. I have never been to The World that often in the lapse of a year. My budget is really starting to suffer. So I might wait a few years to go back after this one. Or maybe I'll change my budgeting a bit hehehehe
Here's the cast:
The artist :artist: (Me): 25 art education specialist. Now working in high schools. Obsessed with Disney. My colleagues know it, and so do my students hehehe
The shopper ::MinnieMo (My mom): Not saying her age. Retired. Loves traveling with me. Loves to shop at Disney while I'm going on rides hehehe
The dates:
July 5 to July 19, 2008 :hyper:
The resort:
Port Orleans Riverside :cloud9:
The ressies:
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater :3dglasses
Donald's Breakfast :donald:
The Plaza :woohoo:
Tony's :dog2:
Chef Mickey's (Which I had been trying to get for 3 years!) :worship:
The Mickey's Magical Milestones tour
The plan:
We got no plan. We always go commando. The reason why we go for 2 weeks. So other than our ressies, we have park hoppers and use them as we see fit. I am always tired when the school year ends, so I have days where I just wanna lie around the pool. Plus we get migraines, so we have the flexibility to rest if one of us gets one.
That's it for now ;)
Ok, let me finish this with the highlights from our last trip.

OMG!! My plane ticket is here!! Woot woot!!
It's finally official!
In 3 weeks exactly, I will be in my hotel room, or downtown Disney at the exact moment. Probably my hotel room since we are leaving at 6:45am, and have to be at the airport 3 hours before. Plus we live 1 hour away from the airport.

The suitcase is filling up fast!
But I also gotta do report cards....
Though I'm almost done and ahead compared to the last few years. I hate evaluating. If you know a teacher who likes that... I'd like to meet that person.
School is almost over.. I'm off work June 30... Yippee!
PopArtGal
06-17-2008, 06:08 PM
Only one more day of classes!! Yippee!!
Then it's evaluations again.
It seems that when planning an upcoming trip, the artist becomes the shopper. I checked my toilletries and I had everything I needed. Woohoo!
2 weeks and 4 days left!! OH my!
Hope you have an awesome trip!!! ::yes::

I was going throw some pictures from previous trips. Always hoping to get great pictures. Photopass is THE best. But there's one pic I haven't done better yet. It's all about unique interactions huh? Goofy took my hand, kissed it, then asked me to kiss his nose.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/image51.jpg
He then proceeded on fainting. But, sadly, the photographer didn't catch that. That was in May 2007.

Today is June 24. Quebe's national holiday!
Bonne Saint-Jean-Baptiste tout le monde!
Yep, my first language is French.
But I started learning English at a young age, did all my studies in French, but switched to English in University. So I can also teach English to kids. So it's good to be able to teach 2 subjects.
Anywayz, today being a holiday, I have the day off!! Woohoo! Which means, only 4 days of work left! ;)
I'll keep packing my suitcase, finalize my grades, maybe do some scrapbooking, and definetaly do my window decorations. Yay!!
PopArtGal
06-24-2008, 02:58 PM
ok, I got 3 little 5 x 6 in. carboards done. 3 more. And that'll be for the windows. I'm doing them scrapbooking style ;)
Plus I'll have a little thingy for the door ;)
PopArtGal
06-24-2008, 09:39 PM
I just finished my window decorations. And I think I'm going to forget about the door decoration. My window decoration was too time consuming. But since I'm going to use them in my scrapbook, I don't mind. The door decoration, on the other hand...you know ;)
Can you show us the window designs?

I am excited!! Only 10 days. Well 9 if you don't count the actual day we are leaving!
And talked with my boss, and since I am only part-time (for the first time. I was always full-time), and that I did all the other ped days, I can only do mornings until Jun 30!! Woot woot! So only 2 mornings left of work!!
On another note, I gotta go to the garage tomorow for a check-up. I hope it won't cost me too much :( Wish me luck!
Oh, and my cat started roaming around our luggage hehehe
I'll have to take a pic of him.
He's my baby! He's around 12 years old if I count correctly. We know the date he was born, not the year hehehe

9 days!! Woot woot!
I'm starting a drawing, painting, of Walt and some characters. Probably won't be done before I leave. But it's keeping my occupied. My colleagues and I (well some of them) are not going to the rallye that has been organized. Rallyes make me sick. Too much stuff to look at in the car and such hehehe. So those in arts who are not going are going to paint, draw outside. So I decided to start my project this week end. hehehe

The little characters are done. The semi-finished look is wanted. They were done in china ink, and drawing color ink.
The background is not finished. I want to add quotes and pixie dust.
In the center will be a drawing of Walt.
I am also looking into adding Mickey. Don't know where or how at the moment ;)
That is so awesome!! Can't wait to see it finished!!!

ok here's the breakdown so far.
4 days to go.
- Supposed to have coffee with a friend/colleague of mine. She always gives me money and a shopping list for her. She's a Disney fan, but because of her sons extreme allergies, and her bfs unwillingness to travel, I am her link to WDW. popcorn:: Done. And now I feel sick. So I'm wondering if it's from the food, or from the fact I didn't sleep well last night!
- Luggage is packed. My dad is supposed to give me a card that I have to give my mom on July 7. It's their wedding anniversary and I think it it the first time they won't be together on that day. My mom and I will be at Chef Mickeys!!! Maybe this date was lucky since I had tried to get reservations for 3 years!! :cheer2: Done.
- I'll pamper myself. Nothing to prepare for the trip, but just to feel good. I tend to neglect myself during the school year.
- I'll rent "The Cutting Edge 3" :happytv: Done! My favorite is still #2. I didn't care for this one that much.
- I'll finish packing my carry-on :wizard: Done
- Get my meds from the pharmacy.:thumbsup2 Done
- Create playlists on my ipod. :charac2: Done! I made 5 playlists hehe
- Transfer stuff from my wallet. Well remove what I don't need. And add U.S money hehe :thumbsup2 Done
- Prepare my clothes for the plane ride.(jeans, Roxy shoes I can remove fast, cute 3/4 sleeves hoody/shirt, and hoody). :thumbsup2 Done
And I think once all that is done. I'll be ready to go.
I hope I'm not forgetting anything.

July 15, 2008.
Our trip started really early that morning. We live one hour away from Montreal, Quebec. That's the airport we always leave from. We are a lot closer to Mirabel airport, but it's closed now. Boohoo!
Anywayz. Our flight was scheduled to depart Montreal at 6:45 am. We were flying with a company we had never traveled with: Canjet.
We left home at around 2:30am. I was able to sleep from around 6pm to 11pm. Or something around that.
We got to the airport way before 3:30am. We didn't speed or anything. There was just no traffic. We're the only crazy ones driving at that time heheh Actually, we were not doing the driving. My dad was. He was driving us to the airport. So we got there, said our goodbyes to my dad, and stood in line for about 30 min. The airline companie's counter was not open yet.... Hummm what?? You tell us to arrive 3 hours before our scheduled times and you are acting non-chalant as if you are not late?? Oh come on!
In line we made some friends. A family who was wondering if they should put their DME tags on. We encouraged them to do so. And I helped their teenage daughter to fill out the customs card.
It was finally our turn to get to the counter. The lady was nice, and told us that we were the first on the list for the flight. We could choose aisle, or window. I prefer window, my mom prefers aisle. I got the window! Woot woot! ;) She told us to head for the gate at 5:15am.
So we passed this counter and dragged our luggage towards the customs line. Surprise!! The customs counter was not open!!
So we waited in line and heard people complain. We did a bit of it ourselves. hehehe
So everything was fine with the customs, and got in line for the security check point.

We gave our bags to the men working the scanners.
I had a sweater on, and was really hot. I knew I had to take it off for the security check point, so I removed it.
I put everything in a bin, and put my backpack behind it.
The security guy asked me for my boarding pass, and told me that he'd give it to me after I passed the scanners.
I thought "here we go again".
Yep, you figured it out! I was searched again.
They got me to pass in the metal detector.
Then told me to come over, and spread my legs and arms and they passed another metal detector.
He pointed to my mom's bin and asked me if it was mine. I said no. He told me to bring him my bin and my backpack.
They checked everything. Told me I could put my shoes and sweaters back on. Did a test on the outside of my backpack and camera bag.
Gave me my boarding pass back.
Then let me go.
Today's lesson: I look like a criminal :(

Ok so we made our way through security.
And by that time it was 5am.
Startbucks was closed!!! Oh no!!!:scared1:
I need coffeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
The guy told us it would open in 25 min.
We have to be at the gate for 5:15am.. remember??
So we keep walking along. And find that our gate is next to a second cup. Which is closed.
The mag store is also closed.
EVERYTHING is closed!! It's too early!
You would imagine that considering they have early flights they would be open. No?
So we sit down. I'm too tired to read or do anything. Anywayz, they told us to be at the gate by 5:15 right?
Well there's barely anyone there.
We wait and then second cup opens.
It's like everyone realises it's opening. So a huge line forms.
I don't go in line since I'm waiting to embark.
Well time goes on, and they finally start boarding at............ 6:30am!!!!
So I figure the girl must have been wrong and mean 6:15am.
Oh well.

So we finally boarded the plane.
And who was sitting beside us???
The family we had talked to earlier.
So we got to talking to them. They were really nice. Their 3 kids were really excited. And the dad was sitting beside us.
They were really nice people.
We didn't have an tvs inside the plane. So after reading a while, and listening to my ipod I was getting bored. It's a 3 hour flight. They handed out the little breakfasts. You had a yogourt, a cup of fruit, a granola bar, and a bagel with cream cheese. The bagel wasn't warm. It was cold. It was hard to eat. Not really that good. But I was hungry. So I ate like 3/4 of it. I had some coffee.
But it was soooooooooo bad :scared:
It tasted like it was burnt or something. Ewwwww.
Anywayz. I took a few pictures of the coulds. Never did that before. Here they are.

The flight was pretty uneventful.
I tried to sleep. Couldn't as usual. Probably just dozed off a few times.
We landed at around 10am in Orlando. Yippee!!!
Oh, I forgot to say that another family wanted to follow us.
So we exited, the first family followed us, and the other had to go back in the plane for something.
While they all waited for them, I ran to the bathroom.
And when I came back, they still had not come out.
We decided to leave without them.
After all, we were not obligated to wait for them. And they really were taking a LOT of time.
The mom of the family that was following us was so cute. She said:" Don't worry, we won't follow you like that all the time!" lol
So we made our way to the DME desk.
They were going to all-stars sports.
My mom went for a smoke and I went to the DME desk.
After a bit, we were in line for our DME bus.
The wait was not more than 10-15 min if I remember correctly.
And we didn't have to wait a long time for the bus to depart the airport.

I can't believe you couldn't sleep even after leaving the house at 2:30am! I am not good about sleeping on a plane either, but I would have been knocked out! :lmao: Maybe it was your burnt coffee?
I've heard alot about DME and it sounds great! I'll never get to experience it because I live too close, but it sounds like fun. Watching Disney resort videos on a bus headed to WDW - oh the anticipation that one must feel! I'll have to try to re-create it one day with a portable dvd player and some classic Disney movies! :)
You have a full day in Orlando coming up! I'm interested to see what you do in the upcoming installment because I don't know that I could function with so little sleep! Though, I guess I could muster up some if I was at WDW!

In a way, it's too bad that I was filming the tv screen because the most hilarious thing happened.
A guy was running across the street then into a ditch. As he was going down the hill, he totally fell. My mom who was not paying that much attention was like: "Hey where did this guys go? One second he's there. The other he's not." hahahahah I don't wanna be mean. I do hope he's fine. But it was really funny. I would have won money on the most outrageous moments show hehehe

Before getting to Riverside, we made a stop at Old Key West. People had to get off there. It looks soooooooooo lovely. I want to stay there one day.
Then we were on our way to the French Quarter.
And finally to Riverside.
The driver was really nice, even holding my hand as I exited.
We went to check-in, and met the loveliest CM. Her name was Danielle. The check-in was very effective. And within minutes, we were off to our room.
Like last time, we were in Acadian House. We had requested to be in Magnolia Bend and have a 1st floor room. We were near the room we had in December.
Even though we thought our room was far from the lobby, it was closer to the bus stop.
We checked out our room, then headed to the cafeteria to eat. I was starving at that time.
It was around 1pm.
We ate a bit. Then made a pit stop at the store to get a few water bottles and cokes for the room. (You know, for at night when it's dark. We don't like to walk around the resort at night, especially not alone).
As we got back, we noticed that our luggage had arrived.
We decided to relax a bit and nap. Then head to Downtown in the evening.

And guess what.
I suddenly heard a bus pull-up. I was wondering what it was. We weren't that close to the bus stop after all.
I look out the door, and surprise surprise. Brazil invasion.
Yep.
We were surrounded by a group of brazilian tourists.
They didn't seem to all be teenagers though. They seemed to be of all ages.
The "chaperones" room was actually next to ours. OH NO!! Thank goodness it was not the adjoining room.
My mom woke up, and I told her about the group. She was happy either.
So by the time we sat down and wondered what we were about to do, we were too exhausted. So we decided to stay at the room.
We walked around a bit, and I snapped a few pictures for you guys.

We woke up at 4am. Crazy, huh?? We were looking at each other going "what the heck!!". After a bit, I decided to go back to bed.
I finally awoke at 8 or 9am. Much more reasonable. But I also felt like I was hungover from being that tired.
After a bit, we went to eat some breakfast. I couldn't wait to get a Mickey waffle. Yummy!!
We stopped at the hotel store, then went back to the room.
My mom asked me what I felt like doing. At that point, I was excited to be at WDW, but at the same time I felt a bit sick. And oh so tired.
We decided that we'd take a boat ride to Downtown Disney. Eat lunch there. Shop. And then we'd see if we were going to a park that night, or not.
When I finally was able to pull myself up, we left to take the boat.
One of the reasons we love this resort, is the boat that goes from the hotel to Downtown Disney.
We think it's so relaxing, and the boat drivers are always so nice and sweet. They don't seem as anti-social as SOME of the bus drivers. They also don't seem as stressed.

That morning was our Chef Mickey morning!!!
OMG!! I had been waiting for this for 3 years now!
We got up early. Around 7am and got ready. By 9am, we were ready to go. Our reservation was at 10:30.
We planned on taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom, and from there, the monorail into the Contemporary.
We got unto the bus, and one woman was upset saying she had been waiting for the bus for too long and that she was late for her breakfast reservation. And she kept complaining to the bus driver.
As we were approaching the Magic Kindgom, the driver told us that if we had reservations at the Contemporary or the Polynisian, to stay on board. He'd drop us off. The lady was still pissed because he was stopping at the Contemporary first and she was heading to the Polynisian.
It worked out great for us. By 9:30 we were at the Contemporary. That meant, plenty of time to shop. Woohoo! I loved the stores. They look so nice!
I looked at the pins for a while, and I bought a Chef Mickey's pin, and a Contemporary resort one.
Then we headed to Chef Mickey's.
We were given a buzzer, and told to come back when it went off.
We waited less then 5 minutes, and went back to the counter. We were given a ticket for a picture opportunity, which we didn't use. My mom wasn't up for it, and I wanted to keep my money for something else hehehe

We were seated in the back... I think in the section behind the one where Jon and Kate were seated.
We had the nicest waitress! She was nice and funny. And took great care of us. The area in which we were seated was a bit quieter than the rest. My mom went to explore the buffet, while I ordered our drinks.
Not long after she came back, this guy came to our table.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0121.jpg
Then this fellow followed.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0124.jpg
As we were eating, we kept looking at families. I noticed a family of four, and offered them to take their picture with Mickey. Mickey came a bit after that, and they nicely took ours too. I am not posting this pic as my mom is in it, and she hates being photographed. I am respected her wish, which is why you won't see pics of her here. ;)
Not long after that, our waitress gave us our checks. Oh, by the way, the hash browns are awesome!! We would have eaten that the whole week!!
As she gave us our check, she told us to stick around, and not to leave now. She said there were 2 characters left, and we had to see them. We loved how relaxed she was, and how she was not pushing us out the doors.
So here are the next characters.

We took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Well it turns out that one was going to the TTC. We got off there since we were totally lost.
We wanted to take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom but it was broken. We were told only the ferry was working. We started walking to the ferry and noticed the line. Almost as long as a football field. Ok, maybe I'm exagerating...but it was pretty long!
So we took the monorail to the resorts, to make our way to the Magic Kingdom to get into a bus. As we were riding the monorail, my mom offered that we stop at the Polynesian since we might never get there.
But "en route" we decided to stop at the Grand Floridian. We got off the monorail and walked into one of the boutiques. I bought barettes and the GF pin, and started talking with the cashier. She was an elderly woman and was the cutest and nicest thing! She asked me why it said Brooklyn in my t-shirt, and if that's where I was from. She once lived in Brooklyn. Then when I told her where I was from, she started talking to me in French. She said her father was French and she never had the chance to practice it. My mom was waiting for me outside the store and what wondering what I was up to hehehe.
We then made our way to the women's clothing store downstairs. Where every step we took was followed by 2 from the salewoman. She was VERY annoying. Needless to say, we decided to leave.
We then walked around the lobby, and were thirsty. I went to the "convenience store" and got us some drinks. Then, I asked to go see the beach. I was just dying to go see that beach.
We made our way to the beach to enjoy our drinks. My mom sat at a table, while I took off my sandals and started walking in the sand. Awwwwwwww that feeling! I wish we were staying at a hotel with a beach. The Carribean beach sounded appealing, but it's farther from the parks than POR. Which is one of the reasons why we went back to POR. Here are a few pictures I took.

We woke up around 9am. It was up to me do decide where we were to go. I was hesitating between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. But my sweet tooth told me we should go to Epcot.
So we slowly got ready, and by 11am, we were ready to go.
As usual, we took the bus. I have to say that during this trip, we were pretty lucky with buses. We didn't have to wait too long for them to come by.
We started our journey into Epcot at Future World. We were not really planning on doing anything in that area. After all, we were hungry! Though we did take the time to make a pit stop at Club Cool. It was crowded, and we were both getting impatient from being hungry.
So we started walking into the World Showcase. We went to see the new Canada movie. This was our second time seeing it. And we loved it, once again! Martin Short is a hoot! I love that guy. So proud he is Canadian. Plus that movie makes us look less like farmers hehehe After all, most of us stay in cities hehe
Once we were out, we grabbed a drink, and started walking towards the France Pavillion.
Once there, we stopped at the bakery. As always, this is our main reason to go to Epcot hehehe I got a chocolate cake (yummy!!!!) and my mom got a chocolate mousse. Let's say, we love our sweets. Oh and I got an iced cappucino. They love that we speak French, but always figure out where we are from our accent.
Next, we walked towards the Japan Pavillion. My store!! I love anime and mangas so much. This time I bought a few Hello Kitty items for work mostly. And we waited to see Miyuki. As we were waiting, Hell broke loose. It started raining sooooooooooooooo bad! It was pouring. So people were cramming up. I was in the front row, and so close to her that I could almost tell you if she clipped her nose hair hehehe I love her!! I was not picked. There were a lot of kids around me. I was a bit sad about that. But what can I do?
Here are a few pics of her.

CONT..
After another quick stop in the store to get my cousin some Pokemon cards, we noticed that the rain wasn't as heavy, so we decided to walk. Yep, you guessed it, we had forgotten our ponchos at the hotel!
So by dinner time, we were at the American Pavillion. We had a bit of junk food, and I decided to go get us a funnel cake. I had tasted one before, but my mom had not. I knew she'd love it. So we ate our way through the funnel cake, as we noticed that the rain had started again.
By that time, we started to have enough of the rain. The humidity and rain had made us grumpy. So as soon as we noticed that the rain had stopped a bit, we started walking/running towards the exit. As soon as we reached the fountain in Future World, it was pouring once again. So we ran inside Mouse Gears.
We decided that it was the perfect time to do a little bit of shopping. Well...maybe a lot hehehe We finished our shopping, and even though it was still raining a bit, we wanted to leave. We managed to reach the bus stop without being too wet. But we did wait a bit for the bus this time. Weird how we didn't have to wait too long to leave the hotel. But once we were ready to get back, we had to wait a while.
We got onto the bus, rode back, and ran to our rooms as it was still pouring. If I remember correctly, it rained all evening. We were full and happy to be dry. So we spent the evening watching movies, and relaxing.

That morning I woke up early. I was so ready for my park: The Magic Kingdom. I love all the imagination... and as I get older... I do want to be treated like a princess....hehe At least on vacation. Let's say that my job is not always THAT rewarding. People never tell you if you do a good job. They'd rather scream at you. Anywayz, that's not the subject here.
I decided to go to the MK for the opening. And my mom decided she'd meet up with me in front of "The Chapeau" at around 11am or 12. Don't remember exactly.
So I got ready, and was off to the Magic Kingdom. I didn't get to watch the opening ceremony since the bus took a bit longer to get there.
So I walked in, and let myself soak in the magic.
I saw the characters greeting people, and decided to skip it.
On my way down Main Street, I met this guy.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0147.jpg
"Hey there little redhead", he said.
He was so sweet.
Then I decided to take a few pictures of the windows. Some people were looking at me like:"why is she looking up?" lol

Let me tell you that I don't understand the people that rush through the park to get to an attraction.
Yep, I was one of them before. But now that I took the time to have a reality check, I realized all that I was missing. You are not the only one who has that idea. So you end up waiting in line a very long time too.
So I now decided to take the time to look around the parks. And soak it all in. And I appreciate it a lot.
I slowly walked to....

It was an interesting ride. I did really enjoy it. Like I said, our guide was funny, cute, and entertaining. Cool thing that it is still around!
I then made my way through frontierland, and walked towards Big Thunder Moutain. I had not ridden this sincde 2000. And I noticed that the wait time was 5 minutes. Hey, who was I to pass this up! So I went in, and didn't really wait. I had my own bench. The little girl behind me was very nervous. She was with her grandmother. I talked to her and told her that she was lucky not to be alone. And that if I was willing to do it by myself, she'd be able to do it too. The ride was great. I didn't remember it as being scary, just lotsa fun. And that's what it was. When it was over, I high fived the little girl. She had loved it, and we both survived lol
I then waited a bit to go to Tom Sawyer's island. Once again, I had never been there. It was cute. I was in search of paintbrushes, and so were a lot of people. Guess what.... I did not find one lol So after 30 minutes, I was hot, wet, and had to get on my way to meet my mom. I did snatch up a few pics.

Ok guys, gonna try and focus and continu this report. I spent 2 hours today at the vets with my cat. He's not doing good. He's more than 13 years old. We think maybe 15. We can't exactly remember the year we got him, stupid huh? Anywayz. Diagnosis isn't good. Apparently he may have a tumor above his stomach. The vet gave him stuff for the week end. We need to see how he's doing this week end. Then if he's not feeling good on monday, we gotta take a decision. I'm devastated. He's my baby. I've been having a bad year. And this makes it even less fun.

I met up with my mom in front of "The Chapeau". She was ponctual as usual. We all are in the family, which makes us curse when people are more than 30 min late, you know?
So I was hungry. We stopped at the bakery and I got myself a frozen latte, and a cupcake. Yup, I'm a cupcake lover.
I was done very fast since I was hungry. It was around 11am by that time.
We did some shopping at the Emporium while awaiting our now traditional meal at "The Plaza". Our ressie was at 1:35pm.
It finally was time for us to get there. We had to wait behind a couple who was really pissed they couldn't get a reservation, or a seat, and were cursing all over the place. So I kindly asked them if they were done since I had a ressie. Didn't want to be mean, or impolite. But I had been waiting behind them for more than 10 minutes.
Apparently, the hostess was glad I interupted, and almost as soon as I had told them we had arrived, we were seated.
We had a nice table in the "veranda" part of the restaurant. I don't know if you guys know what I mean. My mom was sitting with her back to the window on the "banquette" while I was sitting on a chair. But in the end, I was the lucky one since I had a view of the castle :)
We each had the chicken-ham sandwich. YUMMY! We always eat that. It's delicious and the fries are so great. We had a nice waitress, but I have to say that we were a bit cramped. 2 families surrounded us, and did take a bit of room.
When we were finished, we felt very tired. I had been running around MK for a few hours, and it was hot.
And as we looked up the sky, we noticed that it was getting grey.
So we walked down Main Street a bit, and then rain slowly started falling.
We ran for cover inside the Confectionnary, and ended up buying a few snacks including pink cotton candy, and a few drinks.
We then wondered if we should wait for the rain to pass, or just brave it.
We braved it hehehe
We went to wait for the bus, and got "home" safely. We had a nice relaxing dinner at the hotel. Another night of Lifetime, Lifetime movie, abc family ( we don't get those here). And went to bed.

It had become an habit to take one day "off", when we went to a park the day before. We had seen that the forecast was predicting a very hot day, so we decided to head for a cooler place.
The night before, I had stopped by the lobby and asked if I could obtain a movie schedule. Of course the employee said I had to go see Wall-E, but I rarely go with my mom to the movies. And since she also watched Sex and the City, well maybe not as often as I did, but still... hehehe we decided to go see it. I had seen it before, but in French. The friend I always go to the movies with does not speak English, so I never get to see the original versions in theater. I had REALLY enjoyed the movie, and wanted to hear Carrie, and not some other chick, you know?
So we got up, had a little breakfast and were off to the AMC theater. We had planned to get off at the Please Island stop, but the bus driver was very weird. And scary. I'm sorry if it's sounding like I'm judging here, but let me tell you that he was the first bus driver I was EVER scared of. Even in Montreal. So that gives you an idea. That is why we decided to step off the bus as we got to the marketplace.

The movie was great. Better than I remembered. Once again though, even if we had brought sweaters, we were cold. Better be cold than hot? Dunno lol
We exited around dinner time, and noticed how big the movie theater really was. We had entered near the Planet Hollywood, and exited near Virgin.
We were torn between eating Downtown, or having a relaxed dinner at the hotel.
After walking from PI to the marketplace, we were tired, famished, and grumpy hehe
The hotel won. The boat was ready to leave, and we knew we'd be at the hotel soon, and it would involved less waiting time than waiting at a restaurant.
I felt like having a soup, and cake. I don't remember what my mom had, but it started a habit of getting a dessert everynight from the foodcourt. hehehe
I started by getting the chocolate cake, then moved on to hot individual apple pies a la mode.
My mom stayed with the chocolate cake. Yummy. It was comfort food after rainy days. (Rainy days who were coming VERY soon).

While I went to the bathroom, apparently the waitress sat in my place, and looked at the food, and told my mom that we did a good thing splitting since there was still a lot left in our plates. But on a hot day, fries, inion rings, a huge burger and a shake is quite filling.

Silly me forgot to hit record when the ride started! lol So I knew that I'd have to go back once again. Thankfully, I realised my mistake early on, and didn't have the realization at the end, you know?
Once that was done, I walked around, and decided to get a few pictures in front of the HTH.

Clouds were gathering, and since it was almost 5pm, I decided I should head back to the hotel.
But before I went, I was VERY thirsty. So I stood in line for a frozen coke. The line took about 20 min. Can you believe it? The rain was coming our way, and fast! While in line, a lady was talking to a friend who was at the MK and apparently it was pouring cats and dogs! I really wanted to avoid it.
In the end, I did. It started raining while I was on the bus.
Back at the hotel, we waited for the rain to calm down, got some dinner and came back to the room. It had been a hot day. And the T-storm was not friendly :)

I'm still here! I'm preparing for a tropical storm or hurricane, so I'm just very busy!
Those are great pics! I haven't been to Hollywood Studios in a while and your pics make me want to go now. I know Sci-fi gets mixed reviews on the dis, but I enjoy it. The theme is so much fun!
I definitely want to go and take a pic with the umbrella!

This day was pretty uneventful.
We were tired and decided that we needed a day off.
That's what we love about POR. So relax. And during the day, the tour groups were gone.
So we napped. We wrote our postcards and sent them. We read. We watched tv. I swam in the pool. You know, pretty relaxing stuff that we don't always take the time to do at WDW.
I also took this opportunity to buy a few items at the store.
I got plastic cups for my best friend's kids. You know the one with the water and sparkle?
I got her 5 year old son a blue one with Mickey and icons of the parks. And I got the 1 year old a pink Minnie one.
They received the package yesterday and were so happy they walked around with the glass for about 30 min lol
So cute. I actually never saw the baby :( Soon I hope.
So that day was fun. We were tired and laughed so hard. I am always clumsy and I must have been very clumsy that day lol

CONT...
I woke up late that day.
I guess it was all taking a toll on me. What you must know, is that normally when the school year ends, I'm dead to the world for one week. I normally get sick that first week off, and/or spend the week sleeping. So since we left a few days after I was done work, I was starting to feel weak.
So we hung around the hotel, and went to Downtown Disney in the evening.
We just wanted to get a few things done. Buy a few items, and then come back.
Well just as we were starting to get prepared to get back to the hotel, we heard thunder.
I wanted to stop at the "Art of Disney" store to get a book before we got back to the hotel.
My mom was waiting for me outside.
As I was paying, I saw my mom was inside the store. I thought she had decided to come and look for something.
Well no. It was............. RAINING!!
So we waited a bit, and the rain was not letting go. So we decided to run to the bus stop.
There was a ton of people.
And we waited for the bus a bit.
So when the bus came, people mobbed it.
I told my mom to get in. If I couldn't get in, then we'd meet up at the hotel.
I managed to get on. Then we stopped at the Pleasure Island stop. And came in contact with a VERY rude young lady. The bus driver told people at Pleasure Island that since she was at full capacity, she could not let anyone in.
While she was helping people with weelchairs out, a girl came in through the front (I was in the first seat by the door) and said she didn't care. She had been waiting for a long time and WAS getting in. She pushed people in.
The bus driver did not see her at first I guess. But she made a few comments to me. We both agreed that she was not well behaved, and we moved on to much more pleasant things. She, the bus driver, noticed the Tinkerbell on my bag and we talked about her a bit.
If I remember correctly, by the time we got to the hotel, the rain at let go a bit. And we were able to stop by the store to get a few drinks, and safely make it to our room.

CONT....
I woke up before the wake-up call that morning.
My stomach was feeling queezy.
I even thought about cancelling my ressie for breakfast.
But I didn't want to.
So I finally got dressed and ready. When my mom woke up, her stomach was also feeling queezy. So after a bit of talking, we agreed that I'd go by myself.
Since I was ready, I decided to head out and go see the opening ceremony.
But as I was walking in, I noticed Wes Palm was out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1WoD61utTg
I then made my way to the rope drop.
I had a nice view until everyone in front of me started to put their kids on their shoulders. Here's what I could manage to shoot with my arm up in the air.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CPD-RJ8Gi0
As soon as we starting walking forward, I thought I'd make a beeline to the "Kilimanjaro Safari". Let's say I was not the only one who had this idea. When I saw that the crowd was heading to the safari, I decided to take a right turn, and take in the scenery.
It was so quiet and desert in the areas I walked in, that I was wondering if I was allowed in hehehehe
I crossed one lady who commented on how peaceful it was. It truly was magical.
I then started to snap some pics.

My mom made it to the park safely, and we headed to Tusker House.
We were given a buzzer, and waited in the seating area in front of the restaurant. Which we thought was nice.
Our buzzer flashed, and we got our picture taken.
We were seated in the back. And were almost by ourselves. I guess we were one of the last ressies for breakfast.
I told my mom to go get food, and as soon as she left, Daisy came by. I asked her if she'd be coming back later so we could take a pic, and she said she'd try. She never did, and it didn't bother me.
I was hungry. And don't try and stand between me and food lol
The first character that came was Donald.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0311.jpg
Then extra tall Goofy came. He told my mom to back-up a bit so she'd be able to get us from head to toe lol
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0312.jpg
Then the big Cheese himself came over.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/IMG_0313.jpg
We ate rather quickly. The selection was less to our liking then "Chef Mickey's". All in all, even though it was 10$ cheaper than "Chef Mickey's" we thought we would rather eat at Chef's than here.
Even though the decor was nice, and it was cute, we would probably skip it in future trips.

Animal Kingdom is so beautiful in the early morning!!! (And quiet and peaceful!) lol We ate at Tusker House when it was a CS meal but I have been since it's now a sit down restaurant. I LOVED the food there before...they actually had healthy choices and I was sad when it changed from a CS to a TS. We usually use the dining plan, too. It looks like fun! Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as CM's. I might have to try that on a future trip! Great update!! Glad your mom got to feeling better and was able to join you!

Hey guys.
I'll try to update soon.
We started the new school year today, and this week will be devoted to getting prepared to welcome the kids next week.
I got 1 secondary 4 (10th grade) class in arts, 1 special needs class in arts, and 5 classes in secondary 1 (7th grade) in ethics and religious culture (don't know how it's called in English), plus I'm supposed to get 1 more arts class. Yay!
I even got 1 day off. I'm not full-time. But I'm thinking it's my lucky day. Got a cool schedule and another school from another school board even called me today to see if I had a job. Had to turn them down... but I'm wondering... does that mean that my luck is turning around?

We had never been there, so we decided to hop in.
I liked the little train ride. It was cute.
We then made our way to Conservation station. I thought it was very nice. It was instructive and I liked it. Except a few "bugs" I didn't like that much. I just kept away hehehe.
Jiminy was there to meet people. The line was long. So I skipped it.
Rafiki was there to meet people. The line was long. So I skipped it.
Pocahontas was there to meet people. The line was long. So I skipped it. Wait a minute. I did not skip this one. The line was not long lol My mom thought I was kidding when I said I wanted to get my picture taken with her. I was not since this movie is significant to me. It's one of the movies I remember seeing in theater with my grandmother and my grandfather.
As we were waiting, I jokingly said to my mom:Do you want me to pose like her? (She was standing all warrior like and it made her chest stand out.) She also answered with a joke saying: No! She's be jealous of you! hehehe You gotta love my mom ;)

That day, we had ressies at Tony's. But as we were feeling tired the night before, we decided to cancel that.
So that day, we decided to just go and have a quick tour of the Magic Kingdom.
We went to the Enchanted Tiki Room. I know a lot of people don't like that version, but I've never seen the original. So I can't compare.

We looked at El Perico's menu, but it didn't appeal to us.
So as we were walking, we came across Pecos Bill.
We had never been and decided to give it a try.
We loved it!
The ambiance was so nice. It's darker inside so it's relaxing. And it's great that there's a seating area only for people who bought food.
I had the huge wrap. It was good. Not as junky as a burger per se. I did enjoy it.
After our meal, we made our way to Fantasyland and did some shopping. As we were walking through the castle, we noticed that the sun was going away.
No sun!! Come back!!
And you guessed it!
Before we could make it to Main Street, it started pouring!
We only had one poncho with us and did not think that we'd need it.
So, being a good daughter, I gave it to my mom.
Let me tell you, by the time we made it to our hotel room, I was soaked down to my underwear :S
That night, we were getting sick of that poor weather we were getting.
Let's say we spent another night in our hotel room.

Ok guys... I'll end this trippue with a quick look at the "Mickey's Magical Milestones tour".
I won't give out too many details because I do want you guys to be able to take the tour.
So I got there before 8:45. Got into the park using the same turnstile you use for the early breakfast.
I went to city hall and was greeted very nicely.
I was given a pin with my name on it. And was offered water and coffee. I was told to meet in front of city hall around 9am.
So I walked outside and took this pic.

I went back in front of city hall to notice that our group was only of 4.
Woohoo!
Almost a private tour!
It was interesting since we were all Disney savvy, so the tour could be a bit more interactive.
Everytime you answered a question correctly, you got a sticker. I got a few! hehehe
Our tour guide was Crystal. She was very nice.
So we waited for the opening ceremony to end, and we went into the exposition hall. She showed us the little theater in the back and all the photo opportunities.
I had never been there.
I tried to go back to show my mom later on, but it was closed :( Better lucj next time.
We then made our way to the train station which we rode to Toon town.

We got to Toown Town just before opening.
We were told a lot of trivia and found a lot of hidden mickey. And guess who found the hardest to find??? ME!!! Ok, let's say I was standing in just the right spot lol
So after that, we got a meeting with the Big Cheese. And believe it or not..... Minnie was there too!!!!

I got great pics!! Woot woot!!
We then walked around a bit and made our way to Mickey's Philharmagic. Before the show started we were told about hidden Mickey's in all the scenes. I think I only missed 2 or 3. Very interesting!
After that, we made our way to the roped off section behind the Christmas shop where we took part of a special ceremony.

It turns out that this this was our guide, Crystal's, first tour!!
And that the 4th person in the group was her supervisor!
It was great!!
We were so happy for her! It made it so much more special! I got her e-mail and sent her that pic. I actually should contact her soon to see how it is going :)
