For my Halloween Group
http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/susanbillings/IMGP9702.jpg
Here is my question on this one: I do not have a large element. I do have many small button and brad things, and the center squre is a little tag like I guess. Have I met the requirements?
Details:
THe black paper is bling, the letters are glitter paper on the bling. The striped paper is by reminisce and is shiny. The center square of the right page is pop-dotted. The photos can slide under everything -- including the printed paper on the squares. I only have 4 of the spiders from the left page -- I'll have to use a ghost for the 5th set. The top layer of squares is 3 1/4 - -so fits a 3 inch photo.
Shauna -- I'll delete all but the layout page later so I don't clog up the thread. I just like to take the photos!
Sorry about the slight blur -- I haven't eaten (or showered!) today and I have had 2 cups of hot coffee and one large iced coffee -- it has caught up with me. I'm of to clean up my scrap stuff and shower in a bit!
(I know he is not reading this but my DH is the best! )

Again, this is a WONDERFUL layout! I really like the multiple small mats. I think you are fine on the embellishment requirement as several small equals one large. Besides, I think your striped center square and bat should count as a large anyway so you are fine.
Great job!

I like it like it is. you have a lot going on with the bling paper and the patterned paper so I think a large element would be too much.

It's interesting that this Halloween lay out is 9 squares. pretty in tink has done a 9 square lay out for her Christmas group. I haven't seen it, but it sounds completely differently done as far as technique. I'm sure if anyone is in both groups, they will be pleased with both. :cool1:

I hope so...my Christmas layout is squares too. It's over on the progress thread. I love to scrap with squares. I like the look of circles too, but I am not good at putting that kind of page together.

It seems every magazine I've flipped through has more than one 9 square layout in it. And yet it doesn't look repetitious.
Wouldn't that make a cool swap? To take basic layouts/sketches and everyone work off of that. They would be the same and then so different at the same time.

I think it would help us use what we make instead of collecting it.
Well, me anyway. I collect. Guess I could post an interest thread. And leave Shauna's alone. Sorry about going off topic Shauna.

ah, ok, Now I'm gonna go cower in a corner...This was my 9 square layout idea. The little snowmen all in a row are stamped/embossed. Snowflakes are stickled, and the larger snowman is paper pieced. With the size of the squares-I could not make a 3X4 journal space, so I've got 2 smaller ones. People can either use both, use just one, or whatever. There are 4 3X3 mats, also. Anyways...I thought it was pretty cute in person, but if you think it needs any changes, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just start making the other 4 :)

The 9 square layout has become very popular. I had used that design for a Disney page class I recently taught at my LSS. I love how versatile it is!

Ladies, I've been MIA because DH and I both have a stomach flu. His is worse than mine and I had to take him to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after he collapsed. They gave him a couple of bags of IV fluid as he was extremely dehydrated. He is doing a bit better but we are both still struggling. This is an especially difficult time because I am still having serious problems with my knee and can barely walk to take care of both of us.
I posted the 7/21 check-in request on the progress thread. If you've posted your prototypes, I checked you off.

Prototypes are due to be posted today. I will upload my Halloween and Spring layouts tonight. My LSS didn't have the Stretch Your Imagination cart available last week when I tried to rent it so I won't be able to post that until tomorrow. I have all of the elements done except for the gingerbread house but I don't want to attach anything until I can be sure of the size.

Here are my prototypes- the are still somewhat rough and i know I need to embellish my different mats but the main layout will be the same. I haven't decide on a title for any of the layouts. I think I will go with "Baby it's Cold Outside" for winter.
Christmas:
Here is the whole layout: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6250.jpg
Here is the side with a space for the title- I may change the items on the border- I am not thrilled with them right now. I will see what I can find at SDV and the scrapbook expo in Lakeland Sept 5th: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6251.jpg
Here is the other side- the 4th small mat is only 2.5 by 2.5 - http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6252.jpg
Winter- I am missing one small mat- I would have to take out the bottom border on page 2 in order to put it on. If you feel as though you would rather have the mat let me know and i will go with that. I also have to find a patterned paper to use in congunction with the snowflakes for the border.
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6259.jpg
Page one (with title space): http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6256.jpg
Page 2: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6257.jpg
Spring: The title is going to be on an angle on this set. The flowers will have brads, stickles, or bling in the center on the final pages. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/rlovew/CKC%20photos/IMG_6253.jpg

Rebecca - I don't think you need to worry about another mat on the Winter page. I really like that border. Of course, I'm not in that group so some others might want to chime in. I LOVE your title idea!
The other two are really cute. Great PP coordination!
ETA: I just realized I AM in the group for your Winter pages so I say leave the cute border and forget about the other box. Of course, if anyone else in that group has a differing opinion, please post, but otherwise, I think it's cute!

The PP is co-ordinated well because I bought a set of papers at CKC- well actually 2 sets so I would have enough paper- the backgrounds will be 3 different papers (2 copies of 2 of the backgrounds) but all of them co-ordinate well.

I will answer IMO as a participant rather than a hostess. I don't use Disney embellishments outside of my Disney books. In my life books, I stick to generic embellishments so I would not be able to use pages that have Disney embellishments in a non-Disney theme.
I know that there are participants in this swap who DO use Disney embellishments on non-Disney pages so I think I might be in the minority.
My best recommendation as a hostess is to poll the members of the group for that set of pages to ask what they would prefer.
Sorry I couldn't be more definitive. I just don't want my personal opinion to overshadow the majority just because I am the hostess.

I think it is rather plain but I like it and Raine say's its great the way it is. Should I add anything? My title is the paper piecing little boy writing on the wall with his crayon " Happy Mother's Day" I've inked the photo mats and 3x3 squares. I love the cord ribbon look with prima's on each photo mat. These are not glued down that is why they look a little crooked.
Also: I'm thinking of adding a long box for a Child's signature to go in, So when you look back at them being little you can see their handwriting
Background paper will vary from this as I am trying to use stash paper.

Kat - I just LOVE that Mother's Day page. The little boy with the chalkboard is so cute and I think the idea of the signature box is wonderful.
Susie - I really like the colors you used for the summer page and the Halloween page is darling!
PN96 - You are cracking me up!
What I do?
Did you see the issue under BAMB in the living room where my DH lost my 2008 June florida/Disney photos!!! Yep! starts about page 2 I would guess!!!
Michellepooh: love the pages!!!!

LOL!
I never find stuff like that in Indiana.. or the fact that I always have a kid in tow yellin' "Mom, look at this, mom, what about this, mom, did you see this.." and than DH wonders why the heck I have to drive to town 4 times for one 2 page LO!

Arrgghh!!! I am having a complete creative block. I suddenly don't like the embellishments I bought for some of my groups. I ran out of paper for the halloween set (which I bought online go figure). My scraproom seems about 3 sizes too small and I can't seem to find anything I like in my stash. Boo Hoo
I even printed out everyone's prototypes for inspiration last night and have been starring at them all day. Uggh.
Tomorrow we are taking the kids to Canobie Lake Park, so I lose that day for shopping/scrapping...
Help!
Ok - done for now - maybe a nice glass of wine will help...(althought then that precludes me from going shopping)

Of course- that is part of why we post the swaps we do- so others can scraplift.

Hey michellepooh...I didn't see your post until just now. We just got back. Comming down from the ice cream, funnel cake, cotton candy, candy apple high (and it's not pretty)
The wine did NOT help resolve my block last night. I am hoping for some type of divine intervention for tomorrow (read - I ordered to scrap books from amazon that should be delviered in the morning)

In my case the wine would help make them straight:rotfl:
I soooo need some inspiration - I'm stuck on my tags and toppers too. I felt like a four year old standing in my scrap room looking at all my stuff thinking to myself, "all this just sucks - or in my case shucks"
Time for more wine:rolleyes:

I have my pages ready and photographed but not uploaded. I won't be on much in the next few days as I smacked the crap out of my head on my scrap table and I have a low-grade concussion. I'll upload my pics and get them posted tomorrow. I am mostly happy with how they turned out.
Please try to get your pics posted ASAP if you haven't done so. Thanks to everyone who has posted.

My 5 in this group are all basically the same, just the stickers or rub-ons I used vary. They are all from the same set/line, though. Like I had a thing of 5 Santa rub-ons, so each person got one Santa. They all match

I looked at it and thought wow- I don't think I would have had any ideas for it but when I saw it I said- must be New Year's Eve- on the original thread you hadn't labels them and I checked and sure enough you were doing New Years- so I could tell what it was right away.

I know that it is kind of boring but I like simple stuff and I LOVE tulips!
I know I uploaded the pics for my other two groups but I don't think they got uploaded to Photobucket with this one and all of the baby book pics. I'll photograph them again when I take pics of the Pet Swap.
