Rolodex address cards - Closed but active

Final count - Make 22 cards (participants from last round can make only 14)This is a companion piece to the altered rolodex card swap and is completely optional. Due date is the same as the rolodex swap - October 1.

There are no design requirements for this one - it can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like. You will be making cards with your own information on them to go in a rolodex. They can be either the rolodex cards
(2 1/4"x4") or a regular business card size.

They should contain the following information:
Your DIS name
Your real name
Address
Email address
Birthday
Optional - phone number (or space for one to be added)

Once the signups are closed you will have a final number of how many you need to make. **If there is anyone who does not wish their personal address to go to another participant, they may PM me and I will sort accordingly.

Mailing instructions: If you are also in the rolodex swap, include them in the same package. If you are only in this one, mail however you wish (Priority mail is not required) and include sufficient return postage.

Yes. As a frequent hostess, you should definitely do this. It is very helpful to have the addresses at your fingertips.

The cards don't have to be fancy. Some people used ribbon and such but most people just used cardstock and printed their info right on there. Last time we used our avatars (we can do that this time also if people would like) so that added a bit of clipart to the side of the card. They are small and it's a lot of information so there's not a lot of room to embellish anyway.

Question: Say that I already have one from AWM, can I just not make one for her, since mine (which I think she has) will be exactly the same? Or would you rather that I made them anyway? Does that make sense?? I spent the day at a museum, so I'm a little befuddled. :)

I guess just using the sign ups from last time as your cross reference to not send out doubles.

Last time I only made embossed business cards. I will probably be doing the same again this time. I can make enough of those for everyone and if you already have it you can toss it. One less to worry about making sure everyone gets the right ones.

I made business cards. I have taken the ones others have made and stapled them to one of the blank rolodex cards that come in the rolodex.

Great! We could just label everything for you with big letters so that you wouldn't need to think about it. Well, that is what I would do anyway. :)

I just took the blank cards that came with my rolodex and double stick taped them to a sheet of copy paper with repositionable tape and ran it through my printer. It worked pretty well. I added a bit of ribbon and I was done. :)

She doesn't need her own card, but she might like one. It would be pretty cool to be able to give it out to her friends at school.

She certainly doesn't need her own as obviously your info is the same. It's up to you.

ok y'all know by now that i am not computer savy so forget the avery website. i just came from there & could not figure that out. can i just cut out my cards and somehow get my info on it and decorate. or do i have to have it from the computer? i promise not to just write it on!

Print it on an address label and then stick it on there.

For NEW participants (those who did not participate last year): The total number of rolodex cards you need to make is 23

Yes, that means you will get one of your own back which you probably don't need, but it makes it easier for swapping out.

rlovew has moved so her set will be completely new. The following people are those whose cards I have from last year - I just need to know if anyone else has moved. If not, you can choose to do only: 15 cards.

Update:

We had one last minute subtraction, so go ahead and subtract one number from whatever number applies to you. That makes:
14 cards for the "veterans" and
22 cards for everyone else. I updated the first post to reflect that.

Also, if you don't want to receive one of your own back, you do not have to make one for yourself. Just please include a piece of paper roughly the same size with your name on it to make it easier for me to sort.

The cards don't really have to be embellished. Whatever you want them to be. Just the info in the first post needs to be on it - DIS name, name, address, email, etc. Basically it's like a business card.

For the 3 I have received so far, they have been fairly simple yet still embellished with eyelets, ribbon, ink or clipart.

Phone numbers are optional- you can leave them just as is- I would guess you may put yours on your card though so we could call through you.

No, if they are business card size you can just send them as is. People can attach them to their rolodex themselves when they receive them.
