Interest Thread - WDW Event Swap

Sign-ups for this one aren't until mid-August but I'd like to start gathering info on what everyone is looking for in this swap. I'm planning to run it much like last year's but will have more Pirate and Princess Party stuff.

There are the groups I plan to have again:
MNSSHP Group - mini page kits
Boo to You Parade - elements
MVMCP Group - mini page kits
Christmas Parade - elements
Holidays Around the Resorts - mini page kits
Special Events at Disney - mini page kits (includes Candlelight Processional, Epcot Tree Lighting, Osborne Lights, etc.)
Food and Wine Fest - elements
Flower and Garden Fest - elements

1) Do y'all want any changes in the breakdowns for the above groups? For example, do you think it would be better to have Food and Wine Fest be mini page kits instead of elements?

2) I'd also like a holiday parades at Disney but I think there are only two. Maybe we can add the Jingle Jungle Parade into the Special Events group?

3) I've not been to the Pirate and Princess Party so I need help on that one. What do y'all want/need in that group and how do you want it set up?

When you say mini page kits do you mean to do a completed page layout or just the elements for a page. I liked last years when we did elements.

Last time, I think the mini kits were photo mat + 2 elements.

I'm hemming and hawing about this swap. I am supposed to go on hiatus after I finish ABC, because I will be traveling a lot at the end of Aug/beginning of Sept. But one of the things I am doing is going to MNSSHP. And I went to Flower & Garden again this year...

So I probably will sign up. :rolleyes1

2) I think it would be great to include Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade (AK) in the "other" section. Could we also add Hollywood Holly-Day Parade (MGM), even though last year was the last time it was presented there?

I think I'd like to join, as long as this is due in the fall sometime. After the ABC swaps, I think I'll need a break.

What weekend(s) did you go? I went the Fridays of weekend 1 & 2. Got to meet Warwick Davis the first Friday (without a fastpass too!). I really liked SWW (this was my first time), but REALLY wish they put it in February or some other month when it's much cooler - and all people can wear some SW costume, not just those die-hard fans. :darth:

I can't go past the 10/31 due date as I need to get these swapped and out of my house by mid-November. I don't want to be stressing about this swap while I'm getting ready for our trip to the World.

Great list! I love your Pirate and Princess Party info. Are there two more events we could add to the event list to make 6? I've never been so I don't know.

I also have no objection to adding Star Wars and ESPN Weekend to this swap. I had totally forgotten about them and no one has ever mentioned them. I can't promise how many sign-ups there will be but I will certainly include them.

I'm leaving the mini page kits and elements listings the way there are since everyone seems to be OK. I'll work on groups next and post those for consumption.

I agree with Susie RE: P&P party - X Marks the Spot. And there was the Princess Jasmine's Royal Guard Recruitment. That would probably be a good one to add.

As far as the parades, I am good either way. A separate group of just parades (I've seen them all) or just an 8 group Misc. one (because I'll be signing up anyway).

I would prefer mini-page kits, but would go with anything. And because there are eight things listed, if two needed to be eliminated, I personally could do without the Jedi Training and the Padawan Challenge because I don't have kids so don't have any photos of those. But I know others do, so maybe instead the Character Encounters and the Star of the Saga can be deleted. Whichever. And just as an FYI, I am going to learn how to do tear bears (because they are sooo cute!), and for the first bear I want to make, I want to make an Ewok! I have the pattern, just need the time. If it comes out good, maybe I will include one as part of this group.
