Cherie - glad you and Dylan are okay!
Jackie - I'm still amazed you walked away with just bruises.

I've been checking in for coffee break time at work this week, but no pictures come through. The only one that's come through all week is Bubba & Gaylean in the wigs, and it only came through in post it was quoted in, not in Gaylean's original post :confused3 . I keep forgetting to log in at home and scan back to see the pictures!

did you watch the programme DEAL OR NO DEAL?

Oh I love it as I only watch it on Thursday and Friday sometime Saturday.

But today there was a deaf lady and she loved disney.

She want to to to Hong Kong and Tokyo, well they offered her 5 nights Hong Kong and 5 days Tokyo with vip and she turned it down.

Guess what she had won only £5.

I shouted at TV - DEAL DEAL but she said no deal oh what a shame.

I think Nan would have saying DEAL if it was her games?? ::yes:: Is that right NAN??

Oh my family and I love that programme.

Good Morning Holly.

It's wonderful! today was a real test because we have high humidity and high pressure, and that usually triggers a migraine for me. A co-worker is the same, and we quite often have them the same day. When I woke up this morning, I could feel pressure in my head, and still do, but the pounding never started! So I asked her, and sure enough, her migraine started overnight and she's miserable. Of course I shared info on my med with her, so maybe she can check into it because it's still working! :woohoo:

But I do realize meds work differently in different people, so it might not work for her. Our office manager's daughter tried this med and she started having psychotic hallucinations and extreme anxiety, so had to stop taking it after a week. Yikes! I'm glad I didn't get that side effect!

Hello everyone. I'm dumb. I was over at the other thread wondering why I couldn't quote anything :rolleyes1 The really bad thing is that I told myself when I got on that there might be a new thread :lmao:

Cheri, I'm sorry to hear about your accident. You made the local papers! Beaumont is really close to me. We have a lot of friends that live there. I hope you and Dylan aren't too shook up.

Holly, we are going to Laughlin for the river. So we'll be sitting in the water drinking sangria and burning! It is going to be 114 degrees.

There was other stuff to quote too but I can't remember. I was too busy trying to figure out why I couldn't quote anyone :lmao:

Thanks. I know I will. It's really dry heat. To us, it is nicer than CC was. Plus we sit in the water until it is time to go the hotel. They also have a kids club that the kids like going to. Usually we are too buzzed....I mean tired....to take them there!

I suppose I could kill some time by entering my contacts from my old phone into my new phone. No, the new phone doesn't take a SIM card. It's just a cheapy one, but it's much better than my old one because the old one wouldn't get a signal inside my work building and the new one does! :thumbsup2

Very cool. He told me a while ago that they might, cause they are doing the county fair tour right? Would they just be coming up for Sat? Have you tried to text Marr? I know sometimes she answers those. If not just do what you want to do for bdays, and if it's a dup the look at it as "great minds think alike"

We are going to Laughlin. I'm sure you know it is the Colorado river but I'm not sure what the lake is called. It is about 30 minutes from Lake Havasu, which is where we usually go for a week in the summer but we didn't this year because of the cruise.

There are a bunch of dinner choices to pick from, and it includes garlic bread and a veggie and a dessert. YUMMY! I've been wanting to try this since a bunch of you talked about it and a similar chain last year, but didn't want to spend all that money in case I didn't like it. None of the options are anything Tyler would eat, so it would all be for me. This dinner for 2 is the perfect way for me to try it out.....and cheap! :yay: So I think I'm going Friday after work and I think I'll choose Hawaiian chicken or maple glazed pork chops. Yummmmmmmy! :cloud9:

Greetings campers...

at 3 am this morning I swore I was headed to the ER...

By 4 am... the pain meds had kicked in... :upsidedow

I think things are starting to calm down...

Now...

Jackie and Cherie...

WILL YOU TWO KNOCK IT OFF!!!!!!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

While we are very glad to hear that you are all fine...

Demolition Derby is NOT a good hobby to take up...

Take care of yourselves... rest... and it would have been fine to pull off to a safe location to rest!!!!

We care about you too much to lose you!!!

That's my 2 cents for the day...

Back to watch Oprah reruns...

The boredom is driving me nuts. But I have most of my calendar put into my pda, can't transfer contacts from old phone to new phone because the battery on the old phone died and my charger is at home. Bummer.

I suppose I should enjoy the lack of work today because tomorrow will be super busy because only 2 out of 4 secretaries will be here.

Hello everyone.Been lurking. Hope everyone is getting better. I just wanted to give a suggestion that might help someone that drives while tired. Years ago when I was working the graveyard shift and commuting 40 miles to work, I had many close calls while driving home at 7:30 AM. I am surprise that I didn't have an accident in the years that I worked that shift. One day I was talking to a long haul truck driver who suggested that I try eating sunflower seeds while I drive. The little concentration it takes to crack the shells keeps you from going into a daze. It work for me and I always stop to get a bag when I am driving long distances. I was munching on them on the long drive home after our cruise.

Cheri, I'm so thankful Arizona Angels were looking over you and your nephew too  :grouphug: What a terrible experience to have, I can't even imagine. Years ago I remember my mom and I driving home from my aunt's house, only about 2 hrs away from home. I was probably around 10 at the time. My mom kept telling me to talk to her, she felt sleepy and was afraid she would fall asleep. Well, as soon as she said talk to me, do you think this "chatty Kathe" could find anything to say :confused3 I remember being frightened by the stress in her voice, if I had been a little older I would have insisted we pull over so she could get some rest. We did make it home okay, luckily. Sorry you had to learn this lesson the hard way, but I'm thankful you are both okay

Jackie,

I had a Hyundia Santa Fe, ( both Hyundia and Kia are made by Hyundia). The only problem I had with it was the cheap original equipment break pads that were used. They only lasted 30,000 miles. Once I put a good set of break pads on it they lasted to 100,000+ miles. Maintenance seems high on their vehicals and gas milage is not the best but they seem to be an OK car for the price. Keep in mind you get what you pay for. Nissan and Toyata make a better car but then you pay more $$ up front.

Thanks for the tip, George (and Jan, too). Both make sense. Hopefully I'll never have to use them!

It's been interesting how many people, when they hear what happened, tell me about their close calls. I suppose I've had my share, too, but hopefully everyone can use me as an example and not have to learn the hard way like I did.

I'm here. I have been trying to get the house cleaned for company next week and the temps have been in the 90's. That wouldn't be so bad except that we don't have air and by 4 PM you don't want to do anything but sit under the ceiling fan. :sad2: I had a few pages to get caught up on but have done so.

Cheri, so glad that you came through the accident okay. Did you get yourself checked out like we told Jackie to do? If not, do so.

I have had Hondas and Toyotas both and loved them. Before I was married I kept a car for 10 years or more and both lasted without any major problems.

I have a friend coming out from Columbus to scrapbook tomorrow and then I will be spending the rest of the weekend and next week getting the rest of the house cleaned. I let it go bad during my depression and there is no greater motivator to clean than someone coming that has never seen your house. :scared: Even if they aren't coming to see it. First impressions, you know.

Gotta run and try and get some more work done before it gets too hot again. Another day in the 90's. Will check in later. :thumbsup2

Yep a new or used RAV4 will be my first choice! I LOVE my Toyotas. Honda will be the next place I'll check. I was just thinking I might not have the $$ available....but it's all a moot point till I find out if they total my car and how munch money they will give me (and what's left after I pay what I owe on this one)! Should be a quiet day at work today...two of the three bosses are out and it was DEAD by 3PM yesterday. I wonder if all the assistants should just go to an afternoon movie today.....Momma Mia opens I believe. :thumbsup2

1st week w/ the 4-10hr workdays is coming to a close - not too bad, but am exhausted. So glad tomorrow is Saturday.

Been trying to battle my demons this week - not doing all that wonderfully - need to talk to the Dr about a few things.

Lisa & family got to Argentina ok on Tuesday - heard that Ian slept a lot & listened to music and that Sydney did well - even flirted w/ the people sitting behind her on the plane. Everyone happy to be together when I spoke to my parents & Ian on Tuesday (the other 3 were napping). Will probably call them tomorrow.

Jan - glad you enjoyed the Java Chip Frap - may have one after Church on Sunday (Starbucks is just down the street).

John - so glad to see you! Glad Manuel is still heading strong in his road to recovery.

Connie - please make sure you have enough room in your luggage for all of us!

Glad Jackie and Cheri were not seriously hurt.

Escrow has been very stressful. We just submitted the 7th addendum (none of the first 6 were accepted by both parties) after we told our realtor to just submit a termination and that we would petition to keep his $20,000 earnest money. The original contract says it will close next Monday and we have done everything we have needed to do to make that happen. Since no addendums have been acceptable, the original contract is all we have. I think that got his attention and maybe he will be reasonable and get this closed. We will see what he does today, then we will know if we retire July 31 or if we work a bit longer. We know he really wants the property (and is getting it at a very good price!) since he has put well over $1000 into inspections, soil reports and plans for a remodel and put up the $20,000 in earnest money.

The really bad thing about all this is that it has cut into my DIS time!

Well, I have an extra night of freedom this weekend. Tyler's dad just e-mailed me asking if Tyler could stay over Saturday night too. He says Tyler told him last night that he feels they don't get enough time together. Sure, whatever. Doesn't sound like something a kid that little would come up with, but I told him, "Yes, Tyler often tells me the same, that he and I don't get enough time together, so I completely understand." (No, Tyler didn't say that to me, but I couldn't resist getting a little jab in there). But....maybe if he would show up for school functions, and take him to karate class, and do other things with him other than go fishing and leave Tyler at home, maybe they would have more time together. Instead of Tyler having some Saturdays for "quality time" with stepmom, that should be time spent with dad. They're so clueless.

We are on the way to Bethany Beach now. Getting close to the Bay Bridge over the Chesapeake Bay! Hot here, close to 100 today and tomorrow.

Sorry to hear this. Stay strong and if it's meant it will be.

I feel some forebodding here for me. I got the call from our realtor with a counter. It still is sucky. But I really just want the house out of my frame of reference so I've offered another counter. My agent tells me that the buyers agent is ignorant about the spetic and that she calls him every hour. Not a good sign. I suspect after they inspect they will come back asking for more money off to which I will say "GO JUMP IN THE LAKE" hahahahaha that was funny, the house is on a lake and that felt good to say...

If we get in contract we will make a trip up there and perhaps spread dad's ashes on the lake. I haven't been ready yet for this, but now it's here and we can do it feel ok. I guess this is why our August is not planned past the kids being in camp for that first week.

I haven't talked to my mom about the offers yet, just don't want to get into it with her, since I know it will trigger phone call after phone call with the same questions over and over again.

ok, gotta get some work done today, sorry to ramble & thanks for listening.

Gaylean, I did the same thing last night. I even re-started my laptop trying to get it to work! I felt stupid!

Our Dream Dinners location here is having a "sidewalk sale" special today through Sunday. "Make a Dinner for 2 for only $10 or a dinner for 4 for $20". Yummmmmmmy! :cloud9:

I wonder if they will let you package it in two containers so you have two dinners for one :confused3

How dare he!!!! Tell him to close because you need to Dis more!!!

Kelly - I was planning on us taking a cab to the courthouse. I looked at a map and the distance isn't all that far to the old courthouse.

And the new courthouse??? is that closer??? (i know.. I'm making trouble again...)

Ugghh......I don't think I can handle playing any more Monopoly today.

Try solitaire...

how about no kids but some tired haggard mamas???

Drinkin Margueritas??? I know Nan... RUM!!!

Actually I think Kelly and I need to have a conference.

Kelly, let's talk after Molly's bday, (wednesday) only one party plan in my immediate head this week. still trying to come up with birthday favors for the cast of 35 kids. I'm going to look for those little musical instruments filled with small round candy beads. if anyone sees them let me know!!!

I think those are appropriate for the wedding...

Hey, everyone! We are going on a Disney Wonder Cruise on Sunday! Double dip to Castaway Cay! Only Chuck, Patrick and myself. Mike is going to a law preview in Miami. First time in the Inside Disabled Accessible stateroom on Deck 6. I'll take photo's of it. I think it will be interesting....we've never done an inside room on Disney yet. I will bring a nightlight. I just hope that Patrick doesn't want to sleep all afternoon.....that might be a tad boring.....I am plannig to try to get him to nap on deck in a deck chair with lots of towels to get him in a good position....and maybe a blanket to keep him snuggly. I hope this works, at least I can watch the movie on the BIG screen!

Have a good time Connie!!!!

I saw Wanted tonight. It was filmed in Chicago and there was alot of action on the trains. I was thinking about you and wondering if I could have found your house, had I know where it was.

My night off will hopefully be put to good use. I told my co-workers to ask me on Monday if I cleaned my house AND mowed (front AND back) and if I say no to either, they can SLAP ME! :rotfl2: There's no reason why I can't force myself to get this done with my extra time. :thumbsup2

And today makes a FULL WEEK migraine free! I can't remember the last time that happened, so I'm sticking with my new drug a long, long time! :goodvibes

Monica, Stay strong and get in touch with your doctor. Those demons can show up at the worse times. Been dealing with them myself. Just remember that we are here for you and will always understand. :grouphug:

Angie:

Feel free to ramble. Rambling is good. :thumbsup2

We are having a spate of increased efficiency, and so did all of our errands and shopping during the week. I am now sitting here on a Saturday with no plans, other than to take a blazer I bought for the wedding to a tailor to have the sleeves taken up.

Sukie is at the library doing research and won't be home until later.

It is so rare that I find myself casting about for something to do, because I so rarely have free time.

I suppose I could clean, but that never enters my psyche (and the house doesn't need cleaning
anyway.)

I suppose I could also just take my mother's advice and bang my head in the wall.

Well, I think it will be pick up the clutter day for me today, every surface in the house has something on it that belongs somewhere else. When I'm done my butt should be at least an inch smaller. ::yes::

I did spend a little time this am at my Yahoo group for my high school graduating class. Just had the 40th anniversary and folks have started to post pictures. What a hoot! Sad I couldn't go, but I had the TRIP OF A LIFETIME in May, so the funds just weren't there. They are planning a 60th birthday party for everyone in 2010, so I'm really going to try and make that happen.

Off to check out a couple more threads and then get my day started!

We are starting to get pretty excited about the trip in September. Aside from the trivial task of getting married, we're looking forward to DL and seeing everyone.

We found a really nice apartment to rent for 7 months - 50% larger than in San Diego - plus it comes with an attached garage - and for less than we currently pay :cool1:

We decided we didn't want to buy until we've been there a little bit to see where we like. And the government will help out with the buying for up to 2 years so we have time and won't lose the incentive.

This morning I made an ADR at the Blue Bayou for the day we arrive. I'm now taking the 3rd off, because I figured that given the late flight, we'd finally get to our hotel at about 1AM if we were lucky. Then on top of it, our bodies would think it was 3AM. Probably , I don't know. Didn't go, wanted to get home to mow instead, because the sky looked ominous. I only did the back yard yesterday and then was weeding, trying to find my rosebush that somehow got swallowed by a forest. ;) Made good progress, but had to stop because I filled a whole yard bag and didn't have any more...have to buy more today.

We have a huge new idea for our trip next May. Partly John's idea so I am so pleased he is taking more interest because of that.

Our West coast trip has now become East coast!

Plans at the moment, nothing booked as yet.

Fly to Orlando for 2 weeks of fun.
Set off on almost 3 weeks of travelling up the East coast to NY.
Few days in NY.
Sail home on the Queen Mary 2!!

Though it doesn't quite go over our 40th wedding anniversary we can celebrate it on the QM2 if it is within 60 days.

Some thoughts at the moment for places to visit, where we will stay for 2-4 nights.

St Augustine
Savannah
Charleston
Disney Hilton Head
?
?
? all depends on which direction we go up from Hilton Head
Blue Ridge Parkway
Washington DC
?
? Depending on route
New York

Help from East Coast folk will be appreciated.

We should be booking crossings in about 2 weeks.

We did the East coast for our 25th anniversary, but in the opposite direction,
we drove from Norfolk VA to Key West.
On the way we visited
Williamsburg - 3 nights
Wilmington - 1 night
Charleston - 2 nights
Savannah - 2 nights
Gainsville - 1 night (visiting friends)
WDW - 5 nights
Key West - 3 nights
We found some really nice B&B's to stay in Charleston & Savannah, but if you are thinking of staying at Hilton Head, Savannah is just a day trip from there.

Cheri, so glad that you came through the accident okay. Did you get yourself checked out like we told Jackie to do? If not, do so.

I have had Hondas and Toyotas both and loved them. Before I was married I kept a car for 10 years or more and both lasted without any major problems.

Carol

Yes, I was seen at the hospital in Palm Springs. They did a chest and pelvic x-ray (all OK) and treated my burn, which looks like it's going to take awhile to heal.

:thumbsup2 for Hondas!

Cheri, So glad to hear you are alright. You couldn't have been in a worse place! Good thing you got help. Very scary!!! How are you feeling today?

I suppose if we'd been between Indio and Blythe it would have been a little worse, but yeah!:lmao:

Cheri! How are you doing?

Angels have been busy this week - glad they were looking out for you & Dylan, and for Jackie.

Today I'm still somewhat sore and my burn is starting to hurt, but basically I'm OK. I'm dragging my feet about leaving Scottsdale and driving home, but will probably leave in about an hour. I am looking forward to being in my own house, but it's been very nice to be with my sister and her family, too.

Been trying to battle my demons this week - not doing all that wonderfully - need to talk to the Dr about a few things.

Hi Angie! I hope you can get this thing settled and get on soon with your new life!

Looks like Breezes in Curacao is winning for the 40th celebration....

 Looks wonderful!

Cheri, I am so glad you and your nephew are okay! Oh my, what a fright.I will be interested if your car is totalled.

Thanks, Lisa. I haven't heard anything yet on my car. I'm trying not to fret about it. There are advantages and disadvantages to both outcomes, as I see it. I'm just trying to let it go and figure that it will all turn out the way it's supposed to.

I keep popping on and off again!!!

Jackie, we got dinner there one night. Yummm! Dylan didn't think it sounded good, but he ended up eating all of the chicken one!

We are starting to get pretty excited about the trip in September. Aside from the trivial task of getting married, we're looking forward to DL and seeing everyone.

The last time I was in DL was about 1979 or 1980, so I imagine that it has changed. Sukie has never been in DL. In fact, aside from the ship docking and going to LAX, he has never been to California.

I'm excited, too!

This morning I made an ADR at the Blue Bayou for the day we arrive. I'm now taking the 3rd off, because I figured that given the late flight, we'd finally get to our hotel at about 1AM if we were lucky. Then on top of it, our bodies would think it was 3AM. Considering we're getting married the next day ...

So, we are now going to be spending the afternoon in DL with ressies at the Blue Bayou.

I like Blue Bayou. Everything I've had there has been good. Of course, it's a little over-priced, but that's what I expect anywhere in DL. Hold out for a table by the water. That's the most fun, to me!

We have a huge new idea for our trip next May. Partly John's idea so I am so pleased he is taking more interest because of that....

Wow, Marilyn, this sounds like a wonderful trip! I am sorry you won't be coming out west, but at least we'll see you on the ship in September!

OK, so this is REALLLLLY crazy. My internet is working again. The AT&T guy wasn't supposed to come until Wednesday, but I'm wondering if he snuck in and did something to the line outside? I was moving a bunch of stuff from room to room, and in the process, accidentally dropped my wireless modem or router or whatever this little box is that AT&T gave me. I dropped it onto my computer. Then I plugged everything in so I could turn everything on and make sure it works. Well, my internet is back! Not sure what that's about, but I called AT&T and told them it's working again and that the on and off crap is frustrating. They gave me a $20 credit that should show up on my bill and are sending me a voucher in the mail for another $20 credit for the bill after that. OK....I'm happy now! :goodvibes

My Dearest James...

My Ship... The Disney Magic... will be coming in for dry dock on Sept 6th... I'd appreciate it if you could be there to meet her as she will be out of sorts being in a new neighborhood, being stripped naked and having strange people feeling her up and down for leaks, etc...

Daily visits are not required, however appreciated, and if you happen to run into John, our head server, please tell him hello and ask him to display his spoon trick for you. Bringing down pizza and wings is appreciated. He's from Scotland and is a jolly fellow - me thinks he likes his brew too...

She is indeed a beautiful vessel and I hope to be back sailing on her to the Carribean very soon...

I appreciate your anticipated answer to my request...

OK, now to try to get motivated again. A couple months ago, I moved our small kitchen table into a part of our living room that's right in front of our big front window because Tyler and I both thought it would be nice to eat with the windows open and watch the birds and/or squirrels and have fresh air. And the previous homeowner used that area for a dining room anyway, so it made sense. So that left an empty corner in my kitchen. In my bedroom, I had a large microwave cart that really is supposed to be used as an island, but my kitchen is too small, and when we moved in and put the kitchen table in the kitchen, it was definitely too small for the microwave cart, so it went into my bedroom to store it until I figured out what to do with it. SO.....now that the kitchen table is out of the way, I finally moved the microwave cart into the kitchen.

Now I have to figure out what to do with the crap in my bedroom that I had piled on top of the cart. And later, will have to actually move my microwave onto it and that will clear up a bit of counter space. Took me this long and I still haven't even actually CLEANED one room yet! :headache:

Holly ,

We have sometimes had a problem with our DSL Modem (Your ATT box) getting locked up from time to time. We just turn the power to the box off for 15 seconds, power it back on and let it go through its self test and link up and everything works again. Sometimes it is necessary to restart the computer again also but usually just powering the DSL modem on and off resolves the problem.

OMG that sounds WONDERFUL. You MUST spend some time in Savanna and Charleston ::yes:: (Charleston is absolutely beautiful and Savanna is on my wish list...so go for me.) St. Augustine can just be a day visit I think. I'd also recommend a stop in DC (a place I think EVERY American should visit) and anyone else who can get there. Besides, there is no way Lisa would allow you to pass by without stopping. ;)

I agree with your mother. Barb is a very wise woman. There is an ancient Chinese belief that all inanimate objects have a spirit that lives within.

I find it best, before going for repairs to slap the crap of of the object. Often a good smacking gets it working again.

The Twilight Zone Suburb of Terror

After Sukie got home from the library, we sat and looked at each other, trying to figure out what to do.

We decided to drive out to the northwest suburbs, to Schaumburg, to go to Woodfield Mall, which I hear tell is among the largest malls in the US. It also has the DVC, Doorway to Dreams the only Disney DVC sales office located outside of Disney property.

I have to preface that we almost never go out that way. We are really more north shore people, preferring Evanston, etc. (Those of you who know Chicago, know that there is a HUGE difference between "the north shore" and the northwest suburbs."

So, we climb into Mrs. Fezziwig, turn on the GPS and head out.

We get there and immediately I become confused by the parking arrangements. The parking lot goes all around the perimeter and is larger than Lincoln Square.

I was really lucky and saw a family about to climb into their car and thus open up a space for us ... There they stand, frozen like statues ... no move to get into the car. We realize that they are staring at Mrs. Fezziwig.

We finally get the space, which is right near Nordstroms, which in turn is right near the DVC Doorway to Dreams.

We mosey into the DVC store and ask for a tour of the model villas.

Let me say right off the bat, that the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas are beautiful. Probably the best that DVC has done. The models are set with a "balcony and there's a huge photographic mural of the savannah at AKL.

The place is empty, so they ask us to sit down and make ourselves comfy in the living room, and get us some cans of diet coke.

There's the WDW resort station playing on the flat screen TV.

Sukie and are are wondering if it might be possible to lock the staff out and move in for the week, and pretend we're in WDW.

We then get dragged into an office for a chat, while they get us a bag of goodies.

There really isn't a sales pitch because it's DVC and they are always easy going. Sukie and I agree that for our week in WDW when we go on the September cruise we'll stay at AKV.

The bag of goodies they gave us was VERY nice. A hard-bound "Dream Book", Doorway to Dreams Mouse Ears, pins, buttons, luggage tags and a metal Christmas tree ornament.

Having our fix of Disney we proceed through the mall with our bag of goodies ... This is where this adventure takes a scary turn.

People keep staring at Sukie. He doesn't look any different than he usually does, in fact, most of what he's wearing came from Target, but they are staring.

Sukie is a little put off by all this staring. It is at these points in time, that I fear what will come out of his mouth.

He spots on another level a store called, "Total Weddings," or something like that.

He says, "Let's go there."

I tell him, "They don't mean our wedding." Nevertheless, he goes running off (well he has his cane, so he actually goes hobbling off). I trot after him.

We do not (thankfully) go into the store, but stand in the doorway mouths agape. It is filled with (OK, this is our opinion) the most hideous collection of of wedding dresses and brides maids gowns, in the most hideous colors imaginable.

It made me think that a derange milliner stuffed themselves with bolts, and bolts, and bolts of garrish taffeta and then threw-up.

There was a wedding dress (complete with we think a hoop underneath) that was in black and silver.

Keep in mind now that the mall is packed.

Sukie points at the black and silver monstrosity and in a loud voice says, "That's a wedding dress!? That looks more like something you would wear to Joan Collins funeral!"

Well, if people weren't staring before they certainly were now. We were doubled up laughing.

The rest of the adventure was somewhat tamer, though people did continue to stare.

On the bright side, I did find the socks I had in mind for our wedding ensembles.

Oh, one more thing ... we don't collect pins, buttons or celebrate Christmas ... so here's what I have on offer:

2 Doorway to Dreams Pins

2 Doorway to Dreams buttons

1 Doorway to Dreams ornament (flat metal, snowman with Mickey ears about 2" by 1" in red velvet drawstring bag).

Sorry, I'm keeping the luggage tags :goodvibes

There was a wedding dress (complete with we think a hoop underneath) that was in black and silver.

Keep in mind now that the mall is packed.

Sukie points at the black and silver monstrosity and in a loud voice says, "That's a wedding dress!? That looks more like something you would wear to Joan Collins funeral!"

Well, if people weren't staring before they certainly were now. We were doubled up laughing.

The rest of the adventure was somewhat tamer, though people did continue to stare.

On the bright side, I did find the socks I had in mind for our wedding ensembles.
Ian, I truly think you would have had a wonderfully successful career as a writer. Your tales crack me up! The way you describe events, I can completely picture the whole thing. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sukie running/hobbling to Total Weddings, you both cracking up at the silver and black dress, etc. Too funny!!!!!

What a great trip! I'm sure that the folks living on the east coast can give you some great advice.

Have you ever been up the eastern seaboard before?

Advice...

Avoid hurricane season... ;)

I agree with your mother. Barb is a very wise woman. There is an ancient Chinese belief that all inanimate objects have a spirit that lives within.

I find it best, before going for repairs to slap the crap of of the object. Often a good smacking gets it working again.

Thank God she didn't use your advice on us children!!! :scared:

SNOB!!! :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

So, we climb into Mrs. Fezziwig, turn on the GPS and head out.

We get there and immediately I become confused by the parking arrangements. The parking lot goes all around the perimeter and is larger than Lincoln Square.

I was really lucky and saw a family about to climb into their car and thus open up a space for us ... There they stand, frozen like statues ... no move to get into the car. We realize that they are staring at Mrs. Fezziwig.

Ain't She CUTE????:cutie:

We finally get the space, which is right near Nordstroms, which in turn is right near the DVC Doorway to Dreams.

We mosey into the DVC store and ask for a tour of the model villas.

Let me say right off the bat, that the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas are beautiful. Probably the best that DVC has done. The models are set with a "balcony and there's a huge photographic mural of the savannah at AKL.

They weren't like... real size rooms were they???

The place is empty, so they ask us to sit down and make ourselves comfy in the living room, and get us some cans of diet coke.

There's the WDW resort station playing on the flat screen TV.

Sukie and are are wondering if it might be possible to lock the staff out and move in for the week, and pretend we're in WDW.

I rather think that the mall food would get tiring after a bit...

Why does that keep surprising you??? He IS a celebrity you know...

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& HE'S OFF!!!!

I have worn a few of those dresses...

I guess she really wasn't a virgin after all...:confused3

she's still around???

So where is everybody? I'm excited because I just found more goodies from fish extender gifts during the cruise. :goodvibes I put 2 empty suitcases in the attic and then transfered stuff from one into another fuller one so that I could put a 3rd empty one in the attic. Now I have only one more to empty, but it has lots of fun stuff in it that Tyler's been asking about! There was a pencil that had 3 erasers that made a pirate, which he absolutely loved and has been trying to find it. I found it in a suitcase tonight! The head, arms w/body, and legs are each a separate piece. So whoever that came from, he loves it! Thank you! I also found 6 chocolates left by our room guy Mario. What great leftovers to stumble across!

:thumbsup2

Carol

Are you using the neck cooler Michelle and her mother made for Fish Extender gifts? (Oh, yes, Planky too.....)

I love the one I made from her pattern! Also, I am finding my endurance is much better when I drink Gatorade on hot days. :yay:

George

Hi George, Good to hear from you - say hi to Linda.

So glad Kelly gave me the clue--HELLO GEORGE AND LINDA

Yep a new or used RAV4 will be my first choice! I LOVE my Toyotas. Honda will be the next place I'll check. I was just thinking I might not have the $$ available....but it's all a moot point till I find out if they total my car and how munch money they will give me (and what's left after I pay what I owe on this one)! When I bought this one it was a decision between the Rav4 and a Nissan Xterra. I chose the Rav4 for better cockpit design (it fit my body better)!
.................

Is there any other measurement of QUALITY COCKPIT DESIGN :confused3
