I have AKV points but I can't book travel for before May 1, 2009. We're planning a HHI trip in March 2009 and were planning to pay cash. In the past we used the CAA/AAA discount.
How does the DVC member discounts for rooms paid with cash compare to the AAA discount?
Also if booking using the DVC discount, do I book through DVC member services, or through the usual reservation line for Hilton Head?

We had a booking for Dec and decided to add another night, but pay cash. We got a 25% discount (I thought that was pretty good)

Does the discount still apply if I'm booking the entire trip using cash?
Also, do I book through DVC member services or the usual route?

As far as I know you can pay cash for the entire trip. You do need to book it through member services .

And remember that the discount isfor DVC resorts only, not regular Disney resorts and the discount is not always available. I also don't think you get daily housekeeping.

Does anyone know if paying with cash, can I only book just the one villa for wherever I'm staying, or can I get the same DVC-cash discount if I wanted to book another villa for extended family or friends travelling with us?

Officially the member is supposed to be a registered guest in the discounted room. Member Services, however, may allow you to book more than one room since you will be traveling together. It never hurts to ask.
