I've just read about this on another DLRP forum - yesterday and today Fastpass was open and being used for Crush Coaster. It doesn't affect me (no way am I going on that thing :rotfl2: ) but I just thought it was interesting, after hearing about the stampedes to join the queue for Crush Coaster without fastpass.

If only that had been there a week ago! I wouldn't have lost 2 hours of my last day to it!!

Mr EK and I are now having a bit of a debate about where they have put the fastpass queue and how the Crush queue is organised, where the two will join etc.

Then again we had a row about a turnip once.

I'm still going to do EMH then over to the studios for opening so as to get a fastpass and then get in the queue. We missed it a couple of days on our last trip as the q's were terrible.

yeah, I can't imagine...I recon over towards the flying carpets side somewhere, and maybe its just like buzz where you still have to wait in the regular line, but only say from the main entrancey bit (where the spinning shells are) that ould still be a pretty long wait though...

This is good news if it seems to be true :)

woohoo, fastpass goodness :worship:

Granted it means the normal queue will now take longer, but it does at least give you a reasonable chance of getting there at 5 minutes past opening time and not having to queue for too long.

It seems to be true, I have read this on another forum too, someone has posted pictures there. It says this is a test from the 15th-21st July. The fastpass is currently using the flying carpets machines and from the looks of the pictures the fastpass goes down the side of the regular que, straight to the building door (so you miss out the undercover que that winds backwards and forwards.)

Let's just hope it's a success and they choose to keep it full time. It'd be really good if it's still running when we go in 10 - 14 days time!

Interesting...

By all accounts they tried this once before and it didn't work out too well. Hopefully things will be better this time round and they'll decide to keep Fastpass running on Crush's. You can read the article about the first attempt here (http://www.dlrpmagic.com/today/2007/11/07/in-the-crush-for-crush-fastpass-gets-a-no/).

From reading the trip reports on here it sounds like fastpass for Crush is very neccessary. I just hope that there is a working fastpass when I go otherwise I'll just give it a miss, to me having to sprint to get into a queue for a ride is not what DLRP is about.

If this is true, I`ll collect fastpasses for Crush the 20th and 21th, so I`m sure I`d get to ride it in case they decide not to have fastpass on it after the 21th. :p

I hope it is true. I rode crush back at the very beginning of June and it took forever in line, even though I headed straight there at park opening. Fast pass really does make sense for this ride.

From what i read Crush Coaster isnt really a FP ride as its slow process of people getting on and off the rides. I guess we will soon see if the introduction of FP cuts the queues or make the waiting times worse.

:confused3 Thats what i have read as well- thought they had tried out FPs on crush but found they hadnt helped because of this.

Ohh it would be so nice if it could work this time around, having to leave the Park at 9.20am to rush and join the queue so you don't have to hang around for a couple of hours would make such a difference, it could mean that you get to be at rope drop elsewhere in the park!!!:cool1:

It's no slower at loading than Mulholland Madness at DCA in anaheim. And that has fastpass. Both have a similar style 4 person carriage and a slow doombuggy type moving load platform.

Though admittedly Crush is far more popular.

We used the Crush FP today -- went straight to the fast pass line when the park opened. When we returned for our FP time, the regular line was 2 hours long. As we walked up to the FP return area they closed down the ride for technical difficulties and had no idea how long it would be until it re-opened. Interestingly they told us that all FP for the times during the downtime would be honoured all day until closing time. This was nice, except we only had a 1/2 day for the park today and were planning on leaving directly after riding. We gave our passes to a couple waiting in the regular line. They were happy.

We used it yesterday and it worked very well. Approx. 15 min versus a 90 min wait without.

The CM on information said that it's experimental at the moment, so just a limited amount available in the morning, but should be in full swing soon :)

Is this ride good for kids ages 6 and 8? Is there a minimum height requirement? Thanks.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's running on Tuesday!

I haven't been on it yet (though will be taking my 6 year old next week) but I'm sure others will give you lots of advice :) The height restriction is 1.07m I think.

hmmmmmmmmmmm I was debating taking a quick visit from Paris in a few weeks; this is adding to the temptation! I've never waited more than 10 minutes in low season but obviously now is not low season! ;)

Woody, the track is almost idential to DL Space Mountain in CA, but the car spins like Primevil Whirl. But it is a far better ride, much smoother. More like the original SM
