Seasonal and Holiday Recipe Swap

You are invited to join the Seasonal and Holiday Recipe Swap hosted by VickiV and pretty in tink. The theme is Fall and Winter recipes, as well as holidays that fall in this time frame, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. We have a category for Cookie Exchange recipes, since they are so popular this time of year. The Kids Recipe Group will be either their favorite or something they like to make. We can add more groups as they fill. If you don't know which recipe you want to do yet, please post as soon as you can.

REQUIREMENTS: Make 6 for each group. Completed recipes must be 8 ½” x 5 ½”. Staples sells the binders and the plastic sheet protectors for this size. Use cardstock and layer at least once plus one embellishment. You can embellish any way you choose, but be C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E!!! Please check in every 2 weeks.

SENDING & RECEIVING: I’ve added a couple weeks to the due date listed on the swap calendar. Mail date is no later than Friday, September 19, 2008. Mail all 6 copies of the recipe you do. You will get one of yours back. These are due Friday, September 26, 2008. Please ship your package on time so that we can get your recipes returned promptly. We will mail out all swaps the next week so that you will have them in time to use for Fall.

Label your recipes with your Dis name, real name, category and group number. Put your recipes in a plastic bag larger than the recipes. Individual zip bags will leave lines on the recipes if they are too small. One of us will PM you the shipping address when you are ready to mail them. Unless you are using a priority envelope or box for return shipping, include an envelope and postage for the same amount for return shipping (stamps, cash, or check). Delivery Confirmation is 65 cents. Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

He got it out of his Spongebob comic:lmao: You make a rock cake recipe, roll it and cut star shapes. Then once its baked and cool you ice with pink icing and make faces with liquorice allsorts (or more icing!). We're going to try it out in the holidays once he finishes school - only 4 more days!

We will consider this closed Tuesday night, 7/21 at 9 p.m. Even if I don't officially close it, it will be closed. pretty in tink and I have something to deal with that takes precedence over anything else right now. I will probably not have access to a computer to officially close it and hers is not always working right now. I hope to be back sometime next week.

If no one else signs up, everyone can make the number of copies for the people that are listed. If there are more, they can add that amount to their group. I'm sorry to have to leave things like this.

Since our hostesses have more pressing matters at the moment we should consider this closed. If you have any questions about things pm me. I can join the ki8ds group to make it 3 instead of just 2. I won't worry about the 2nd cookie exchange since it our hostesses in that group sofinal numbers for everyone:

Holiday: 6
Kids: 4

Post the name of your recipe as you know it so we can make sure we don't duplicate them. If things are still crazy with our hostesses when it is ime to turn things in we will see what they want us to do.

I rhink of Fall/Winter Recipes as Soups and other such things that are hearty meals and served hot. I have you in the kids section for a total of 4 there.

I'm here now. This is my first day back really. I checked this thread earlier and saw that it was being taken care of.

We found out Memorial week end that my mother was terminal and had 4-6 months. I considered this when I started the swap and signed up for a couple others. I decided to go ahead with it because working on it would help to keep my mind occupied. However, my Mom did not quite make 2 months. I appreciate everyone being so patient with me, and all the thoughts and prayers.


pretty in tink and I both live in the same town now, so recipes can be shipped to either of us.

The little chains - actually I think they are for making cards more than scrapbooks- someone had given them to me as part of a secret sister type swap and I thought they were perfect for this. I haven't seen them in the store either.

Yes, everything is in now. I printed postage for lewdyan1, Disney_Rider, Believen, and rlovew today. When I went to schedule pick up for tomorrow, I found out it's a postal holiday for us. So I guess things will go out on Tuesday instead.

I've included an extra recipe for everyone for being so patient.
