There will be a DISmeet at POR on Tuesday, September 9th from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM. We are assembling at
Ol' Man Island around the pool and bar.
Everyone is welcome. Come and see who you've been chatting with, take some pics and swap stories and info.

I know how you feel. There is a meet in Indianapolis the weekend before we leave - I have to work that weekend.:headache: That would have been great. The meet n greets are fun....I know some people are nervous about doing it....We did one on our cruise.....met a whole bunch of people on a cruise site just like this one....they have a roll call for your cruise.....we all talked for approx. 6 months before the cruise.....it was cool to meet and finally see the people we have been chatting with.....

wheresmygoofy, I have often done that when I meet someone new and want to know more about them. If people post on a public forum they are not hiding anything and it is a great way to get to know them a bit and they might just be doing the same to you. :thumbsup2 It is neat to meet new folks and when you know a bit about them you have more to talk about.

Normally, my objective on September afternoons is just to stay out of the heat :lmao: This one would give me the possibility of three meets: the 8th (dinner at Boma), 9th (POR pool/bar), and 13th (ToT and Jelly Rolls) :woohoo:

I'm know I'm missing one--there's something at the POR main bar one night. Dang--I guess I didn't put it in my spreadsheet (probably because it was pretty late for me), and now I haven't a clue :confused:

Legomom, I am not always in lime green. Even though this is a short trip, 14 days, for me, I just do not have enough lime green clothes for EVERY day!

I have noted this meet and if things change, and they often do, I might be there. Things keep coming up and I have had to tweak a lot of things.

One of my sisters ,who lives in Florida, sent me a BD card the other day and stated that she was coming over and taking me to the GF tea party. Are I not a lucky lady? I always do one new thing each trip and I have wanted to do this forever and a day.:thumbsup2

The last time I checked the Dis Meet board there were hardly any September meets, and just one for the time we are going (2nd-16th Sept). Now I see loads, so am getting in on the Dis-Meet action! Spookily, I had scheduled two hours on the 9th to be at the hotel, and they were 4-6pm!!

So, if it's all right with you guys, we will pop down for a visit!!! It will be me, my mum (nursetibs) and my sister (plutodisney).

We got married two years ago. I am slightly OCD and a major planner and I like to go go go! DH likes to see what unfolds and ambles along. Haha. I'll try not to blow anything up. No promises, though.:rolleyes1 Unfortunately, though I could manage to blow something up if I tried, my job isn't that glamorous. I'm not all mad scientist with a huge distillation reaction going and colored beakers bubbling in a poorly lit lab. (Those beakers with colored solutions that you see on TV and in brochures always get me. :lmao: Most chemicals are clear and hardly anything changes color.) I analyze films, tapes and adhesives so I work with a lot of solids and not liquids. It's nice that the term "chemist" sounds kind of glamorous, though.

Haha. I'll try not to blow anything up. No promises, though.:rolleyes1 Unfortunately, though I could manage to blow something up if I tried, my job isn't that glamorous. I'm not all mad scientist with a huge distillation reaction going and colored beakers bubbling in a poorly lit lab. (Those beakers with colored solutions that you see on TV and in brochures always get me. :lmao: Most chemicals are clear and hardly anything changes color.) I analyze films, tapes and adhesives so I work with a lot of solids and not liquids. It's nice that the term "chemist" sounds kind of glamorous, though.

What does everyone else out there do?

Make sure you wash your hands well before you go through the airport/TSA checkpoint....they might put you in the sniffing booth (sniffing for explosives).......they might hold you up from your trip to the world!!!!

You sound like me.....I like to go go go at the world.....DW can sleep until 10:00 head to a park at noon....I feel I am missing everything!!!!!:sad2:

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. I love all my friends but my favorite ones are the ones I can talk Disney with. My friend, who is coming on this trip, has never been to DW either. It is so much fun showing someone like that around. Your friend will have the perfect tour guide. Much better experience than walking around all bedazzled and confused as I was when I first started going. The only thing that kept me coming was the fact I could park the car and not get back in for the entire length of the trip. :laughing:

I will pre-warn though that as I am travelling solo this year I may or may not be wearing a tiara to MNSSHP as I have no-one with me who would be embarassed - in which case I should be very easy to spot!

Sorry it will be quick, but I am very excited! My DISsis is coming too: She is smiller and our mom, rmiller will be there too. (you can tell we were very creative with our DIS names! :lmao: ) I'm leaving the kiddies with DH.

We have never been over to that resort (it is the only one we have never visited) so my mom, sis & I will check it out & then drive over to POR to come to the DISmeet. Sorry, no bar in the food court......You can buy beer from the coolers (I think). The bar is down the hallway from the food court...but not open until evenings.......(my experience anyway)...The pool bar is the best bet...
