Have you ever ordered any of the take-out at Trails End? (Colson's Poll Of The Week)

So, they have take-out at Trails End, pizza, chicken (at least those are the two I know of and have been there before), so how many of you have ever ordered this? What were your impressions?

We keep on meaning to do the chicken but always forget. We've done the pizza quite a few times, but I would say it's been about 50/50 on whether it was "decent" or not.

It's a decent value for the chicken/fries/biscuit. I got it last time on the day we checked in and set up. Saves us a trip to Winn Dixie on an empty stomach.

We also did the Trail's End breakfast buffet once on the morning we checked out so we could fill our tummies and then drive 10 hours.:woohoo:

I haven't been back to the fort since I was aware of the take-out, so I voted no but the next time we go, I am sure we will!

Do you all like T.E. for breakfast or dinner? or both?

We like both, but if I had to pick, I would pick breakfast!

We did like the pizza however the past 2 times it really sucked. I have only had the chicken once and it was well worth the price. :thumbsup2

Chicken is very good, Pizza gets worse each time we go. I wish they would go back to the pizza they had several years ago.

yea, it really varies, sometimes it's pretty good, sometimes it's just horrible. Some of the worst pizza I've ever had has been at the Fort, unfortunately...lol.

That's why I try to make sure I've had a few drinks in me before we get it, helps make it taste better ;)

As far as I know you still can, I don't remember hearing anything about it going away...here is some info on it! :)

You know I always read that the pizza at FW was bad and thought that people were just being very pickie, and just jumping on a band wagon, not really to many ways you can go bad on a pizza.

But I have to say that the pizza at FW was the single worse pizza I have ever had in my 45 plus years of life...it was horrible and everyone in my family was starving whenever we eat it and we had half left over from 4 people eating.

It was just plain bad...now we thought the chicken was just great we loved it alot and the breakfast stuff was so good too.

The chicken was great!!!!!:yay: We have it every time we go. Where else at Disney can you feed a family of 4 for $20, and have a couple of pieces of chicken left over for midnight munchies?! Make sure you ask for extra plates and silverware. I'm cheap and I'll keep the extras in my camper for another use.

At our last trip in April DH was vehement that we go to Trail's End and have their pizza. Have to agree with Colson that it is hit or miss some days and that day was a complete miss. Maybe I can talk DH into ordering the chicken instead next time?

i think it depends who makes it. Just like the sweet tea. When KEN makes the sweet tea, it is perfect and sweet the way it should be. If someone else makes it and doesn't get it right, the whole pot stinks, lol.

Sounds like I better not get the pizza anymore. :sad1: Bummer. I love pizza! It was good when we had it but that was our first trip to the Fort in 06.

Maybe we will try the chicken next time.

Chicken was the best valued meal we had during our 10 day stay last April! Would do again in a heartbeat. It easily fed 3 adults and 6 kids. :cool1:

Just wrote about this in another thread about Trail's End, but I'll add to the thread here.

We've done take out several times. Easier for us, as we have four kids under 10.

Nachos -- LOVE! LOVELOVELOVELOVE! After the first time, we learned to ask for no hot peppers!

Family Chicken Meal -- Five breasts, five wings, steak fries, cole slaw, and biscuits. 24.99 plus tax. Good food, great value. Always some left over.

Pizza -- Not our favorite, although the kids say "Pizza Planet pizza!" because of the taste and I just say, yes, it is! Its size is actually decent for the price, and we usually have a few slices left over for later.

Our family loves the chicken. Pizza was ok. Last summer I would get breakfast buffet take out for my DDs while they were getting dressed. This was our absolute favorite!

No...lol, my family is obsessed with Trail's End and we love eating there on vacation. Even on a night when we're all exhausted and want to go back to our site we all think about the yummy buffet food we'll be missing out on and decide take-out would depress us! hehe

Pizza -- one time;maybe 12 years ago (didn't care for it)
Chicken -- pretty much every time we've been there (it's consistently good)
Nachos -- one time; March 2008 (pretty good but I think the chips were something commercial like Tostitos-- huge quantity for the money)
