Well lets see, I honeymooned there with my first wife. After my divorce, I met a new girl and proposed to her in front of the castle. Now she's left me a month before my next trip....so who knows. But yes, I've done so many romantic things I've lost count....prince charming I may be, but apparantly the past couple of girls had other things in mind. :confused3

I only had one trip with a significant other, so we really didn't experience the whole gamut of romantic things at Disney, but what I defintely remember was the opportunity to hold hands on the more tame rides, where you're entertained but not enthralled enough to forget about who's hand you're holding. I seem to recall that we had such an experience on the Winnie the Pooh ride. It was just enough Disney entertainment plus romance, as opposed to having no entertainment (making out in a hotel room), or too much entertainment (riding the Haunted Mansion and paying more attention to the ride than each other).
But I suppose I'll have to find a special someone before I can experience that again. :sad1:

The revolving dance floor at Mannequins is a great place to check out the scenery since you can stand on the side and observe as the people float past you. Can't do that with a normal dance floor since your view stays the same. I've met a lot of girls that way. DW wishes that I would behave!

No question about it. I like a late ADR at Bistro de Paris on a non-EMH night with a window-side table and unobstructed view of Illuminations. The food is great, the view is amazing, and the service is wonderfully unFrench. Follow that with a lazy stroll through a virtually empty park. There's nothing quite like the feeling of having the park to yourselves, especially after an intimate dinner.

DH and I like going back to the Coronado after our day at the park and either laying on one of the hammocks and looking up at the stars in a clear sky, or taking a hand held walk around the Casitas in the beautiful courtyards with the fountains going and the lights reflecting off of them.

Snagging a hammock at the Polynesian, watching the sun set, watching the electric light water parade, and watching Wishes. So romantic. :-)

The most romantic Disney experience I remember didn't take place at WDW, but it was still Disney because it was at Disneyland. It was the riverboat ride. I think riverboats in general are romantic, not in a lustful manner I realize but in a historical manner. While history is dominated by the study of wars, the relatively archaic passenger riverboat travel represents a gentler aspect of history.
I agree with the reasoning of the person who found the Winnie the Pooh ride romantic. Sensuous people and romantic people are two different breeds that often fail to cross pollenate.

For us it has to be Victoria and Alberts for dinner - we went there on our honeymoon and the harpist played Pachabel's canon - which I'd walked down the aisle to only 1 week previously.

For me, a very romantic moment is staying late at the MK until most guests have left for the evening, and then walk down Main Street with my princess: 's hand in my hand.
For those who know me, you have heard me talk about making that same stroll but at some point in the future with our grandchildren :grouphug: joining us for the stroll. That is still many, many years away.

I know what you mean. Many people think of the Magic Kingdom as juvenile, but it is romantic for adults. The "thrill ride" attractions are like the super attractive people who can make your heart beat faster while the personality of attractions like Main Street is like that of the person that your heart just melts for.

Riding around the lazy river, holding hands over our tubes. :)
I know it's not traditionally romantic, but there's sun, it's slow and relaxing, and we're on the water. I love it!

The most romantic thing I ever saw happened last week. I saw a couple (probably in their late 70's) by the castle and the old man pulled a little rhinestone tiara out of bag and put it on his wife's head. She started to cry! Guess there really are men out there who try to make their someone special feel like a princess. Darn sweetest thing I think I've ever seen.

We've done all sorts of "romantic" things at Disney including - fireworks from Cal Grille, getting engaged on the Disney Wonder, watching the electric light parade at dusk from the beach of VWL, first anniversary at WDW
(second coming up in August at BCV), dinners galore, walks hand in hand, etc...but, I have found that the best are those that are least expected - those times when you are just walking around with nothing planned and you sit together to watch the people and you both utter the same exact comments at the same time. True love!!! I love those moments!!! Those end up being the best memories of the trip...

I'd have to agree...some of the most romantic moments are things that aren't planned. But I'd have to say the Poly beach at night is pretty romantic,

I was married at the time ( now divorced ) and we did Fireworks Cruise on the Breathless. We were the only ones on the cruise and it was very fun. The driver took us zipping around the lakes and then parked us under the bridge by ESPN. The fireworks were fantastic....
