hey everyone.....
i'm just checking interest for a 4X4 monthly rolodex swap? it's for the 12 months so you can keep track of birthdays, anniversarys and important dates. there is one you can look at over at 2 peas i think. i'll see if i can find the link.
so it is COMPLETLY different from the one NEE is hosting. i wanted to make that clear. i was thinking a september sign up with a november due date so we could use them as christmas presents if you wanted.
just putting it out there. i'll go see if i can find the link

If we set a size for the calendar so they are all the same and make it so the calendar is removeable - ie brads, photo corners, it'll be good for multiple years.

I'd be in for two or three of these. They will make great gifts. Thinking teachers or relatives.

PO3:

What about the calendars being removeable by making them a specific size (like 2x2) we'd have to measure to make sure...but use photo corners on the calendars so they can be removed and replaced year after year..

If so, I would consider this project because it's small..

Wow! Those are great. I would love to do this -- in multiples for gifts. I really need to look at my schedule -- just too many swaps I want to do.

How do you do the actual calendar page?

The rolodex base -- is it expensive?

Rolodex base.. most of us got them at staples or walmart.. running between $5-$15. several found them on clearance for next to nothing..especially right after school starts you can find them in clearance...

This sounds fun, it is so cute. I like the idea of it being able to be used for more years. I'd be in!

Those are so cute. I'd be in for a set. Were you thinking of Disney themed or just general year theme? I could go for either one.

I think I'd be in too. Do we really need the calendars? Just one more thing to make... I think that I wouldn't make them year after year. I'd just take them off. I don't think I'd use it as a "calendar" just as a place to write down dates to remember like January has - 11 my birthday, 25 my FIL birthday, etc... Just my 2 cents...

Great idea. That is how I planned to use it, too. And when swaps are due lol

I like the idea of the divider but would also prefer no calendar. I thought the purpose of this kind of thing was to have the month divider in the front followed by cards with specific dates to remember.

For example (each date is it's own card):
April divider
Drew's b-day: April 15
Celia's b-day: April 15
Susan's b-day: April 15
Roger's b-day: April 23
Phelia's b-day: April 24
Gracie's b-day: April 27

May divider
Tony & Regina's anniversary: May 5

December divider
Bobbie's b-day: December 10
Dick's b-day: December 20
Karen's b-day: December 21

There should be enough room on the cards to include size info for clothes or a list of hobbies, collections, likes, dislikes or even an address.

This is how I envisioned this swap. Did I get it all wrong?

Without calendars works great for me:thumbsup2 I always end up with calendars in odd corners that don't get turned over after March:rotfl: I'd be in- -I knew there was a reason why Tinkerbean sent me an extra roladex but couldn't remember:rotfl2:

ok i just got home from the lake and i'm glad to see there is an interest in this. i was originally thinking that we would just do months and then the cards behind held all the information. so like the 4x4 cards in the front of each month would be decorated like november-thanksgivingy, february-valentiney and so on. then like shauna said the white cards would say what events you wanted to remember on what days and such. clear as mud right? i hope you get what i'm thinking.
thanks everyone who's interested because i really wanted to do this one. - and the other one too!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: I thought that we had to use calendars because the TwoPeas did.
I would much rather not have to do that.
It's not like there isn't already a calendar in every room of my house.
Well, except the bathrooms and thats only because they curl up in the humidity. Yup, I tried. :rolleyes1
:woohoo: More room for pretty paper and embellishments.

My original thought on this was just the covers. Nov having a Thanksgiving/fall theme, etc.

and a cover page too, so we would need 13 spots.

Give me July and you can borrow it.

Yay! Sign-ups now would be OK with me also so I could work on these in between burn-out on other projects. I'll wait until September if I need to but I'm excited about this one!
