If you were going to buy DVC points, where would you want to own?

If you were going to buy points, whether you're a non-owner or a current owner, where would you want to own? (Other than at WDW, which is already well established with DVC resorts/units.)

Also wanted to add that there's a typo in the "Disney Cruise Line" option. It should say "that would be cool.......", but I'm not able to edit the poll. Sorry. Please excuse.:rolleyes1

we can do Disney Cruise line with points - isn't worth it - you are better off renting your points, then paying cash for the cruise.

my DVC points are only for WDW.

have other timeshares to trade to different places.

I voted for other, but....not for Cabo, Vegas, or Tahoe.

Give me...

Gatlinburg, Asheville, Williamsburg, Gulf Shores, New Orleans, etc. as the staples of outside WDW -- I might would even buy.

I would love to occassionally travel to Colorado, Arizona, Utah, National Parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Grand Canyon, New York City, Boston, etc.

I would love to finally go to London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Athens, and Venice.

Just as Disney re-defined the offerings and design for cruise ship traveling, I believe that DVC should do the same in its off-site offerings. DVC owners and Disney travelers are different from other travelers, and expect different things.

We want top quality, family friendly offerings.

I also think its time for the geniuses in Burbank to finally view the South as a market that needs tapped, especially as airlines pull flights out of Orlando, and Economic Development continues to increase in the South. Its not the poor backwater that it used to be.

DVC in popular tourist destinations throughout the South -- that combines vacationing at Southern Destinations AND Walt Disney World, (on different trips) with a reasonable buy in of 100 points, with maybe some ABD type offerings available for a fee to guests at some resorts would be wildly successful.

(To be more specific, Hey Jim Lewis, how would you like to turn your Southern concentration from 1:6000 to 1:100?)

I would buy a Gulf Shores/FL panhandle DVC. My dream DVC locations are Destin/Seaside/Amelia Island/St. Augustine.

I'm not going to commit to buying points at a location I have to fly my family to in order to visit - and with fuel prices as they are - I think that as long as DVC is a "family-branded" time share - Disney is crazy to build DVCs that require air travel for most guests.

The poll needs to included None of the Above as an option! I love Disney but I don't want my entire vacation possibilities tied up in nothing but time shares. The bang for my buck is best spent at the WDW resorts, the point structure for the other options is not cost effective in my opinion.

Like you said, currently using your points on a Disney Cruise isn't cost effective. But, if you could own on a Disney Cruise ship and lock in those cruising rates for the next 50 years (yep, those would be pretty expensive points), would you buy? (You'd probably have to be an owner to ever stand a chance of booking a room on the cruise ship though, but that would be another reason to buy, right?:goodvibes )

I'd buy DVC ( not II exchange ) in Vegas in a heartbeat if it were on the "New" strip.

I would love Vegas. Might only do it once every 5 years or so, but it would be fun!

Like most others, we're Disney fanatics who don't look at our DVC points for use anywhere but Disney. That may change in the future, so the options are nice, but Disney is our focus.

I vote "none of the above" also. I might do the other options mentioned once in a blue moon or even once in a lifetime. But I bought DVC to go to WDW every year. :)

I've been to Vegas on my dime. (It's amazingly cheap if you know the deals.) Been to London on Marriott's dime. (Outrageously expensive these days with the exchange rate.) And I own at Williamsburg already via Marriott.

So for me the only thing that would maybe interest me is timeshare cruising. I've yet to try the Disney line (Royal Caribbean has pampered me several times already). But I'd probably only do it every few years. If they left from ports further north (Baltimore or New York), maybe I'd go more often.

As of now cruising is a "once every 3 year" vacation; Vegas and London and other dream destinations are the "once every 5 year vacation; and Disney World is the "twice a year requisite".

I voted Disneyland California -- specifically GCH, though it would be interesting to see additional options in DL.

I also think it would be cool have points for DCL. It would be great if points were a little more reasonable for the cruise option!

I know people say using points for cruise is not a good value but I am not sure why they feel that way. With the price of the cruise aren;t you saving by not spending your cash on it but using points instead

Of course I had to vote for Grand CA...although the Disney cruise option does hold some appeal.

I also voted for Disneyland and other Disney themeparks, but I agree that a Disney Cruise option is appealing (at least enough points to go on the Disney Cruise every 2-3 years).:goodvibes
