Checking interest for upcoming Rolodex Swap [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hey ladies,

The rolodex swap signups will be coming up on August 1. (Due date: October 1) This will be for decorated divider cards (2 1/4 x 4) for a rolodex. I will run it mostly like last years swap seen here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1411338

Since so many of us already have one, I'm not sure if there would be 26 interested participants. If not, I was thinking we could do 2 cards per person and have a group of 13. I figured I'd check interest now to see what kind of numbers we'd be looking at.

As part of the swap, I'd also be including a sub-section for address cards - business card or rolodex cards with your DIS name, real name, address, etc. Those can be emebellished but don't have to be.

More details will come with the actual signups, but feel free to ask questions or offer suggestions.

I'd be interested in just the address card portion. The Rolodex cards are adorable, but I don't want to overwhelm myself with swap commitments just in case there is an early arrival (which I'm praying for at this point!). ;)

I think I would do this one again. I love my rolodex from last time and I'm sure I could think of a use for another one.

I just looked thru the photos and they dont do justice to the work!
The only thing that would hold me back is my encampment for 200- yes Im now up to that !!:eek:

If we don't get huge interest, we could do similar to the ABC element swap going on now (hosted by 123SA). Instead of just 1 letter, we each picked 2 letters. That way we only had to make 13 of each.

i am so up for this. i missed it last year and vowed that i would not miss it next time around. i have been thinking already of what letter i want! i love to do that address on too!

no all that being said, yesterday i told myself that i would not ***NOT*** do anymore swaps for a while until i got over the ones i'm working on....BUT i can not pass this one up!!!!!

Weeeeeelllll, I am torn. I LOVE my rolodex and use it at home because I couldn't part with it and need someplace to keep my swappie addresses. That being said, I would REALLY like one for my office. I just don't like the sign-up/due dates as I have so many other swaps going at that point.

I'll have to think on this one. These little guys were cute but took a lot of work last time.

Well, looks like right now we're over 13, so that answers my question.

They are really cute and fun and I love mine. They are pretty small, and yes, an excellent way to use your stash!

Does anyone feel that they want more time than the 2 months? I can post signups earlier if you want.

i so can not wait. i so missed this one last year. so much so that i went and bought the rolodex die. then sizzix came out with one and i bought that one too!!!!!!
i want to do L-for lumpy but the lumpy stuff will not be out until september. i think the toughest part will be what letter to do.........

Just curious, if Banana wanted a set also could we each do a letter or do we need to leave this open for 26 different players? And if you have your signups on Aug 1st we will be here but after that we will be in DL so what would be the best way to work that?

Rats! I didn't check the timing of this. I don't think I can do this one.:sad1:

What can I do in terms of dates to help you be able to join? It's really not that much work - the sizes are much smaller than an average tag so it's like 26 small tags.

The current dates won't work well for me, either. It would be helpful if I could get my letter sooner than later so I can start work on them and finish early.

Oh, and one other thing. I'm not sure we'll get 26 players (I think I counted 17 so far), so if we don't would anyone have any strong objections to combining XYZ (like most rolodexes do anyway) and just having either a general Disney theme for that card or a theme for just one of those letters? Q could also be piggybacked to P and the card could be a P theme. Just a thought if we need to. We would have a final count before signups closed, but no one should start making 26 of anything before they close.

I'm planning on choosing my letter last and just taking what's left over.

I like the idea of combining P and Q. How many Q things do we really have to file anyway?

I'd really like P whether or not it's a combo tab.

BTW, will you be assigning Left and Right tabs like last time?

I'd take Q if no one mind's it being separate. I've got a bunch of extra Q's for Disney Quest cut from the Elements swap...?

Also, I'd be open to taking a left over letter too (i.e. doing 2 letters) if that is another option. Then I'd have one to give my sister!

I'll put you down for XYZ, AWM (that's a lot of letters together!) if you really want it. I also don't mind doing it.

I am planning on assigning the left-right tabs. I will put those next to the letter when I list them on the signups.

Since KerTggr really wants Q, we can leave it freestanding. And if you want 2 rolodexes, you can do 2 letters. I will just ask you to wait until everyone else has a chance before signing up for the 2nd letter. I think I will leave signups open through the weekend for a single spot and open it up to a second letter on Monday. Does that seem fair?

I am not claustrophobic, so crowd away!
