I was going to put this in the toppers n tags thread but I didn't want to scare anyone with the big insect!

This is for Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.

The abdomen is flocked, and parts of the front arms. THe antennae are also flocked. The eye and the nose?mouth? is glazed.

I don't think you can tell in the photo, but the back elbows are a different shade of brown. I think I may try pop dotting the head in that color.

I would say that he is cute, but alas, he isn't really. But he is super cool! I love the glaze and flock, it really makes it look like a bug. Shiver...

THanks! He really isn't at all cute -- hence the warning! I think he will look good on a HISTK layout though -- I have about a million photos from there.
The flock and glaze are super easy to use. Cutting out that ant took forever.

That is one of our favorite spots, I have some great shots of DH and the kids.

Where did you get the ant, was it a coloring page?

That flockin' good!

I think he is cute. But then I like most bugs that don't leave an itchy spot.

How big is he?

So do you agree that flocking is fun? He looks awesome. I want more flock, but I have to figure out what would look good flocked, and then buy those colors.

you have it all wrong. You buy every color because it's there and you have to have it. then the unused jars will sit there because they are pretty. You will proceed to buy every new color that comes out too just because.

OOps, sorry I was channeling Maggie there for a second!

So is there more than one manufacturer of flock? Is one better than the other.

Well -- he is big. 5.5 wide, 2.75 high. I was going to put him on a photomat initially -- before the whole flock thing. I think he is fine on his own. It ended up as a base and 7 pieces. If I pop his head, that will be 8 pieces.

My guess is that any animal could be flocked -- well maybe any mammal could be flocked.

I could do that, but I already am out of shelf space with my pretty jars of Primas , Skittles and the little bottle of ink that I used to dye the skittles. :lmao: I'm trying to show some restraint!

Stampendous makes Fun Flock, and then Doodlebug has their flock. I only have the Fun Flock. But I am serious considering buying the Doodlebug set from HL with a coupon.

That is AWESOME.

I can't wait until I can buy.

I actually bought flock several years ago and never used it. It has been in a box somewhere....probably where my Norway stuff is.

ANyway, I ordered the doodlebug variety because it goes best with my glaze pen and glitter paper.

I too have flock from a zillion years ago. It is burgundy. Not terribly useful...sigh...
