UPDATE WITH EVENT INFO Doorway to Dreams event in Aug in IL

So, the anniversary event will be at the Improv on Friday, Aug 1 at 7:30pm, or Sat, Aug 2 either 11am or 7pm, or Sun, Aug 3 at 7pm. Limit of 6 people. They're giving away a trip each session and some characters will be there. Scheduled to last 1.5 hours. Packages are being sent out with info to register. Maybe see some of you there!


Has anyone heard anything about an event at Doorway to Dreams in Schaumburg, IL sometime in Aug? We stopped in there this past weekend, and the CM mentioned it that Mickey would be visiting, etc. We were curious if it may be related to some announcement, or new incentives, or if its just an event. Anyone have any other info?

It is the 1-year anniversary for the Doorway to Dreams location in Schaumburg. It would be nice if they celebrated with an announcement of say... a new DVC location... maybe even one at the Contemporary... but unfortunately, that's not the reason for the event!

I think we'll be going either way... my 13 month old daughter is a huge fan of the Mouse (she tells her stuffed Mickey, "I love you Mick"... but she hasn't told me that she loves me) :confused3

Just wondering, we received an invite to the grand opening last year (which we attended, and added on at AKV) and the February member event (which we didn't). They had something last month, which I learned about here (and I was at Woodfield that day, just didn't walk over there!). So, I'm wondering if we've been "dropped off the list" because we didn't go in Feb.:confused3.

O.K., on the Mousecellaneous board, there's a post about the info for this event and online registration being on the member web site. I've never posted a link to another thread before, so I don't know if this will work or not, but here goes:

In case it doesn't work, supposedly somewhere on the member web site is a link to make reservations online for the event (I didn't find it, but that's not to say it isn't there, I just couldn't find it, so I cut and pasted the link from the post). There are specific times for members only, (there are also non member presentations.) The times for members are: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. I just made our reservations for the Sat. evening time slot.

I've also tried to cut and paste the link to the Doorway to Dreams web site:

Did you receive an invitation in the mail or sign up on line? We're in the Western burbs and haven't received anything.

Perhaps the invitations are going out to those who purchased at Doorway though. I can understand wanting to celebrate with those who have made it successful...if it has been. Any word on that? It must be though or they probably wouldn't still be there.

The friendly folks at Disney's Doorway to Dreams (located at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL) have informed us that DVC will be holding a One Year Anniversary Event/Celebration at Disney's Doorway to Dreams from August 1st - 3rd, 2008. Disney characters will be in attendance to increase the fun factor, and Disney also will be giving away a Disney vacation at each of the events! It promises to be phenomenal!

Separate meetings are being held for Members and non-Members.
