Curious as to how existing members think the new reservation system may impact their DVC ownership going forward. It seems there is no doubt that the new policy will make it more difficult to secure particular types of reservations. Short stays, holiday periods, split stays, anything less than a 7 nighter during a busy time....these will likely be more difficult to secure. Of course, having a timeshare that made these types of trips possible was precisely the reason some people bought into DVC and it's flexibility. So, what impacts might this change have on ownership?

The question is.....are you more likely to sell an existing contract or decide against the purchase of an add-on or small point contract at another resort as a result of this reservation policy change?

I wont sell, but I also wont be adding on anymore. If I was to add on, it would be a small contract, and now I am thinking the small contract I already added on at AKV is worthless for my needs. We will see though. If the new policy prevents me from getting the concierge at the 11 month booking window, I'll likely sell that AKV contract and just take my chances at 7 months with AKV being available. It wont be concierge, but then if I can't get that at 11 months anyway, there's no point to owning that small contract.

The mods are limiting all discussion of the new reservation policy to this thread: New Reservation Policy (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1861954).

Thanks.
