The paper I bought for light shirts cracked with the first wash. I have used the paper for dark shirts since then and have had no problem with that. I don't remember the name brand of the paper for darks I got it off of ebay. The paper I got from walmart was for light colors. Sorry I can't help with that much more than that. If I remember right they were saying the scotch guard helped protect the disign from stains.?. Hopefully someone else that knows for sure will answer your questions. ;)

The Scotchguard is to seal the transfers so they do not run.
I have not made any shirts yet but I plan on Scotchguarding them to be safe.
