I'm a college kid arranging for a trip to disney in May and I currently have reservations at Howard Johnson Eastgate. I am considering changing my ressie to Ramada Inn Westgate. They both cost the same and appear to be similar in general conditions (read: poor). But it's all that I can afford and I'm looking for the best value.

My biggest concern is location. I plan to drive to Disney myself to get to the parks. Any opinions on what location is best?

Am planning a quick, cheap trip in June and was wondering the same thing.

Which is the better place to stay (only a couple of days) and which is closer to WDW?

Also, does the Mear shuttles go to these resorts? Won't have a car and need transportation. Do both these places have hotel shuttles to WDW?

Thanks for any help you can give me...first time to this forum and staying off-site!!! :smooth:

I suggest you try the Econolodge maingate East. This hotel is clean, has free breakfast, free shuttles and has a graet price. I got $34 tax included last year on HotelmartUSA.com . My cousin recently stayed there and had a great time and saved$$$$$$

Upon closer inspection, I'm going to say that howard johnson is going to be the way to go, especially as far as transportation is concerned. Ramada appears to be 6 miles from the gate, while hojo is like 2. That means a lot of time traveling on Us192 or 1-4... although im not sure if one of those is worse, i think they are about the same. And yes, both of the hotels have transportation, but only to Magic Kingdom, you could probably use disney transportation from there.
