Hi everyone!
I'm trying to finish us my paperwork for STVS and need some help/advice.

Right now we have Stan coming for 5 hours. Our wedding starts at 10, then Pre-reception/reception from 11 to 4. If we only have him for 5 hours, and he comes at 10, he would leave at 3.

I'm thinking of adding an hour on before, so he's there at 9 to get some "getting ready" footage, and of Randy getting some pictures. Then he would still be leaving at 3pm (reception ends at 4)

Does this make sense? Or am I going to be missing something with an hour of reception left without a videographer?
And/or, since DF is having his pictures taken at 8:30, should I see if I can't make it work out that I get that on video too, and have Stan leave at 2:30?

As long as you do all the events you want captured on video - garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting - before he leaves, you shouldn't need Stan to stay til the last dog dies, as they say. Unless you're going to have a confetti cannon or something for the last dance that you want captured...

Just make sure your planner knows that you are having your videographer leave early so she/he can make sure they do the cake cutting and other things you want on tape done before he leaves. We are cutting the last half hour for video, it was a hard choice but in the end it won't matter.

I have Stan and we are having him for the getting ready time and then only the ceremony and a little of the reception. All I want him to video is the dances and toasts. Everything else, like eating, talking I am not interested in. He is then going to take a break and I paid extra to have him for the dessert party. I don't think missing an hour of the reception at the end will make a difference. I am sure you will get in a lot of great shots.

Thanks everyone!!

I'm so lost on timing everything. My planner said that for the DJ and Stan to not worry about writing out the times things will happen, just the order. So I don't know how long some things will take. But I don't need the last hour on video, as I have the feeling some of my guests will be jumping at the bit to head over to the parks again (and I'll be right behind them! :woohoo: ).

I'm so excited and nervous! 5 weeks from tomorrow!!

You will be fine having him leave an hr early. the last hr at any reception is just dancing and partying it up lol. You will have all the formal stuff out of the way..and I hear you about wanting to get to the parks lol.

YAY for being 5 weeks away.It will be here before you know it!
