View Full Version : Carolyn Allen - Tux Rental & dress steaming ?

I was wondering if anyone had a rough price of how much it would cost to get my dress steamed??

Also, has anyone rented there DH's tux from Carolyn Allens? Would you recommend them?? What sort of prices do they charge? Thankyou for any help you can give :grouphug:

My dress was $75 I believe, well worth it in my opinion.

The tuxes were close to $200 per guy. I think it all depends on the style you choose.

I think my dress was like 75 and the tux was around 190 or something.

This thread might be helpful about Carolyn Allens & other options in case they are too expensive.


I was quoted $85 for my dress that is floor length with pickups. Also if you bring your tuxes its like $20 to get them each steamed.

Dresses range from 80-100 to steam (though I've heard of it coming in cheaper). The cheapest tux Carolyn Allen offers is $120.

It can be really handy to use them because they deliver and pick up, but you should know that if your wedding falls on a weekend or a Monday, they may not be able to exchange tux pieces that turn out to be the wrong size. The other tux rental places in Orlando have the same problem, because the warehouses that store all their pieces are off-site and are closed over the weekend.

If you pick a standard style of tux, like a notch-collar lapel, this shouldn't be a problem because the more popular pieces and sizes are usually kept on-site. Just be sure to ask when you you reserve the tuxes.

I have to say that there service was top notch. I FedEx'd my dress to them to go ahead and take care of so that I didn't have to fly with it. We rented all of the tuxes from them and then had them steam all of the dresses for the wedding and I had my gown steamed again. In a subsequent trip I had her steam two dresses for events that I was going to go to. The customer service and coming to us was such a big weight off of my mind.
