We leave for Orlando (driving instead of flying) on Saturday July 19th… we had previously made reservations at Vistana Resort for the week (a co-worker gave me her time share). Since then, we purchased DVC and we are spending just one night at BWV before heading to Vistana. :sad1: We have always stayed on property and this will be the first time staying off site. Looking for some encouragement :grouphug: that this trip will be just as much fun.

Vistana Resort for the week (a co-worker gave me her time share).
Jeepers, that alone would up my fun to limits unknown and to boot you get to keep your DVC points for your next stay. Florida, vacation, WDW, "FREE ACCOMODATIONS" Cheer Up  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: There are only positives, and no negatives! Just have your travel party "Wecome you Home" when you pull in to
Vistana. I'm a DVC owner who would love a free stay!

I agree!!! Any missing magic would quickly be replaced by a free stay and more DVC points to use later this year!! You will have a blast! Here's some pixie dust and love for you......

Thanks for the pixie dust...I don’t mean to sound spoiled but I guess that’s what being a DVC member does to you! ;)

Also forgot to ask since we are staying one night at BWV, would our kids (age 17) be able to pool hop to SAB at BCV? If so, do they just need to show the room key? TIA :)

Sorry - no pool-hopping is allowed to SAB or AKV!

I have heard that Sheraton property is really nice. Just enjoy your stay- and remember that next time it will be DVC all the way.:)

Thank you...Kids and DH are fine with something different so I guess I need to have an open mind. My co-worker actually gave me her time share (put it in my name) I'll only have to pay the MF in the future.

You will have a great trip and hey ..think of all the money you are saving by staying at your friend's FOR FREE. :goodvibes We also arrive Disney on Sat. 19th......see ya there.

I'm a long term dvc member and I stayed at Vistana with friends once. The inside of the villas is very nice. I didn't care for the fact that there are a lot of buildings there and they're all identical - it's easy to get lost! Also you don't have the convenience of being on property or the free parking at the parks (it's $11/day now). I personally wouldn't choose to stay there again - but if the timeshare is in your name use it to trade to other locations. Stick with on-property (dvc or non dvc if you have to) for WDW trips - at least that's what I'd do.

I think you're right about staying on property for our WDW trips...at least we have AP's so I *think* that will get us free parking.

No we are flying. Our flight leaves MD at 10:40 and we arrive at 12:45. Then we use a car service, stop for a 30 min. grocery stop and then head to OKW. Have a safe drive down!!!:cool1:
