I know this is a really strange question but here it goes........

What color are the smoke detectors in the room at the Springs in SSR?

Our first trip in 2004 was to SSR Congress Park section and the smoke detectors are red there. My DS10 is autistic and they really bothered him. We just planned a last minute trip to WDW this Nov. and the only available 1 bedroom was at SSR.

My son wants to know if all SSR rooms have the scary red smoke detectors.

We have stayed in Congress Park and never had a red smoke detector. There was a red fire extinguisher in the closet though (or under the sink).

All the smoke detectors I have come across in Congress Park have been the standard white ones.

Here are some pictures and you can see the smoke detectors on the walls and they are clearly white.

The only thing I can think of that he might have seen would be in this picture

Look on the wall in the far left of the picture. By law those have to be red but they aren't in the rooms, they are usually in the hallways and such and at every resort.

Smoke detectors are usually a white or offwhite color. They might have a red light indicator that shows they are working.

I remember a few years ago, in a 2BR in SSR, there was a strange red light on
the wall toward the ceiling. DH and I couldn't figure out what it was. I think
it was some sort of motion detector. If it detected people moving about the
thermostat would kick on or something like that. Don't know though. :confused3
