Pete pronounces it DIZ. They're his boards so I'm going with DIZ.:thumbsup2

07-12-2008, 06:38 AM
It is DIZ so it sounds like DIZney.

07-12-2008, 07:02 AM
The correct way is Dizz although I used to say it Diss until I heard the radio station.

It is DIZ so it sounds like DIZney.

I agree...diz for DIZney. DISS for disrespect...in street lingo, anyway, although I doubt anyone who says it that way in this context means any disrespect.;)

I think I say it both ways but mostly dizz.

Actually, I don't really say it out loud too often because my family already thinks I am obsessed so I mostly just say "the boards" or "the podcast" - it is much more generic and ambiguious and I don't get "those" looks as often. (You know the looks - the ones were they roll their eyes as if to say "here we go again with the Disney stuff- just humor her and maybe she'll go away."):rotfl:

hm, i use the article form... The Diz. kinda like The Wiz, but everyone wants to be the gay lion.

07-12-2008, 10:15 AM
Maybe it's my NE accent but I pronounce it Diz.
If I'm DIScussing it with family I referr to it as "the boards". I don't frequent the other boards anymore so they know to which I'm referring.

07-12-2008, 10:56 AM
When I first found the boards...I always thought of is as DIS (I thought is was for DIScussion board), but then actually saw somewhere on one of the main pages where it specifically said it was pronounced DIZ. So that's how I try to say it. But in all honestly, I still have to keep myself from trying to say/think of it as DIS.

Oh my...:lmao: Would that mean Julie is playing the role of "Dorthy?"

07-12-2008, 02:28 PM
I always call it The Diss. I guess The Diz would really be the correct way to say it since it's Dizney not Dissney.

07-12-2008, 02:32 PM
Curious...when you say "Diser" do you say Diss-er or Die-zer? For some reason I say it die-zer, but I have a feeling it is supposed to be diss-er (that is my best attempt at phonetically sounding these out for you).

I just realized that I rarely say these words out loud...only in my head as I am reading the boards-- oh yeah and when I am talking to the voices :lmao:

Diz. And we are all Dizzers.

As a side note - DIS originally stood for "Disney Information Station". Hence the capital letters. I don't know if the full "Disney Information Station" is even used here officially anymore, but if you google it, www.wdwinfo.com will still come up first.

I pronounce it Diz (thus the rhyming of Dis and Wiz for my name, lol). :thumbsup2

07-12-2008, 03:21 PM
Any time I have had the opportunity to say anything about it, I was sharing information with my not-so-disneyfied friends, so I refer to it as "the disney online message boards".

miss missy

I say it DIZZ , I voted wrong, I thought you were talking spelling

07-12-2008, 04:45 PM
By the looks of the poll...I think I need to start speaking differently.
DIZZ it shall be.

07-12-2008, 06:34 PM
DIZZ family here full of dizzers. I always took it to be DIZney boards.

07-12-2008, 06:44 PM
My s' always sound like z's.

07-12-2008, 06:46 PM
I say diZ but when referring to my buddies here, I say diSSers. Kooky, I know. :upsidedow

07-12-2008, 07:14 PM
I say Diz - as in Dizney - as in Diznynut

07-12-2008, 08:07 PM
Oh my...:lmao: Would that mean Julie is playing the role of "Dorthy?"

William!! Hello! I think it's DorOthy.

07-12-2008, 09:59 PM
I say diz, cuz that's the way Pete says it. And it only makes sense because it's Dizney.

07-13-2008, 09:49 AM
hmm interesting, I have no clue how I say it ..... maybe I say it Disz boards.... lol

07-13-2008, 10:48 AM
Then there was the CM who, when asked about holiday upcharges, said "Are you one of those DISH board people?" :rotfl2:

07-13-2008, 10:57 AM
I say diz. And everyone I know is tired of hearing about you people! :lmao:
They just don't understand...I don't need a 12 step program, really I don't.

07-15-2008, 09:06 PM
I don't want to be a Dizzer, I wanna be a Disser. It just sounds so much less blonde....

07-15-2008, 09:09 PM

But doesn't DIS stand for Disney Information Station?

07-15-2008, 09:22 PM
Diz as in Dizney

Dizzer a person who Dizzes. LOL

07-16-2008, 06:13 PM
Definitely "DIZ" for Disney. Plus, we don't want to "dis" the podcast...that wouldn't be nice!

07-16-2008, 07:03 PM
I used to say DIS. Alex even posted once that it's DIS for Disney Information Station & I was so glad I was saying it right. Then, I started listening to the podcasts and heard Pete say DIZ. Now, it's DIZ to me!
