on the first countries listed, there is a place for that countries stamp on the top right corner and the bottom they can add a picture or write something they experienced about the country...my sons will be missing a week of school on their 2nd week back, so i thought i would at least make it a learning experience they can share with their class :goodvibes

As you tour the World Showcase, you will find Kidcot Stations. At these stations kids can complete a craft ( I think it's still a mask from each country). There are castmembers there from each country. They will stamp the child's passport and write to them a message in their native language. Last trip we were ther for DD's birthday and the CM'c wrote a her a birthday message in her passport. Morocco, China & Japan are especially cool because they write in their native alphabets as well. DD thought the Arabic message looked like a drwing rather than a message. We bought a pemade Passport last trip........now DD is like "been there, done that". She talks about our exploits in the WS all the time and was really excited about making a 'different " Passport for this trip. I created the Passports to be like a "mini scrapbook" from the WS. We're going to add photos in the spaces when we get home.

Natalie!!! Hope you are doing sooooo well! And thank you for allowing us access to your beautiful, BEAUTIFUL epcot passports, I LOVE THEM and cant wait for the boys to see them and get to use them. And I am so glad you mentioned the stamp thing because I was stumped....wasnt sure if it was a postage stamp or what? :confused3
Do you just go up to a cast member in that country and ask for a stamp? :surfweb:

Just ask them to stamp your passport......... they are very familiar with the process. It's really cool to engage them in conversation. They are all from the country that they represent and they'll tell you all about it if you give them the chance. It really opened up DD's eyes to the WS and EPCOT became more than TEST TRACK & SOARIN!!!!! We did two days in EPCOT last trip and wished we had time for more!!!!

Awesome Job! This is something I want to do for my kiddos too, I think I am going to do them on heavy cardstock, and wait until they are all filled out to put them under plastic so people aren't struggling with pulling them in and out at the parks! I think the front and back I will go ahead andput under plastic, and the middle uncovered until we return, does that make sense?

I've got a question for you...........

It looks like you took apart the photo album to get the covers, how are you going to fix the album back together??

I'm working on a ABC book for DS4, and have been looking for a way to put all the pages together, a photo album is a great idea!! I think I can print mine 2 per sheet, so I'm guessing that will fit in a 4x6 album?????

I did, they are little photo albums that hold 4x6 photos, the boys will have too slide it out to get their stamp on it, but it looks so pretty all put together. I will admit I love the ones that people are taking to staples to have bound, but for my boys, it may be best to have the pages protected by the photo album covers for them.

:jumping1: I made this last year for us to go at Thanksgiving. My DS9 really enjoyed going to all the countries and getting it stamped and a message written in the native alphabet. It took us all day long to get it completed. :hourglass We didn't get to do much else because it took so long. I don't know if it was because of so many people being there or what it was. I made his like a real passport like the directions I got from someone on the board. Thank you again,:flower3: it turned out beautiful (after dumb me got all the pages turned right) It fell right into place. We picked up the mask and got all the charms also. You will enjoy seeing your sons get theirs completed.I did. He took it to school when we got back. He got an award at the end of school for being the class explorer. This may have helped(science and social studies) We are planing to go back next Sept. (free dining):thumbsup2 We may do this again or something like it. DS9 and I are already planning.:cool1:

I love the passport pages but it would take forever to download them one at a time from 4shared. Can you put them in a zip file and save it to the same directory? That would be great!

I too like the idea of having the protection of the plastic but I was wondering if you were going to have to pull it out at every place. I would have one for each of my boys(my 3 boys from NC!! ha ha!!) and maybe it would be easier to just have it passport style--ughhh decisions decisions!!!

I don't know if this would work or not, but you can buy loose 3 ring binder clips at Walmart. You can hole punch each page, put a hole re-inforced sticker over the hole to protect it. Then you would have a passport that would just flip to the page you needed. When you get home, you can put them in the photo albums or in a scrapbook.

Another idea is to look for a 4x6 2 ring notebook. Look where they sell index cards.

Just an idea.....

hi Tracie!! Yes, we would have to pull the pages out at each place, but they slide right in with no problems, and honestly, at the time, I didnt realize that Staples or someplace like that could bind them for only a few dollars. But, for $1 per book, it worked for me :thumbsup2

Stitch had a really good idea, too!

as far as the amount of ink....yeah it used ALOT, but everything I have worked on the past few months has USED TONS OF INK, so whats another cartridge, or 2.....or 6 :confused3

FINALLY read to print these.........I think I'm going to print the journal pages just as photos then put them into a little photo album. I have 3 albums to make and I think printing them all out on regular paper would get too expensive!!

Did you print yours 4 x 6 or 5 x 7?

thanks and have a great trip!

I've downloaded the thumbs from Natalie's site. What I haven't been able to figure out is how to zoom them without distorting them. Can you help? I've posted all over the boards without success. I'm asking you since you got one done.....and what a fabulous idea to put them in a photo album - I love it! I've got 5 to make.

Thanks,
