Are the Swan/Dolphin resorts in 'cahoots' with the airlines? Will I get 'credit/miles' for staying there?
:) TIA :)

If you do not want Starwood Points, then yes, you can get frequent flier miles...

I use my SPG plat. card upon check in (For Starpoints), and pay with my AMEX plat. Skymiles CC! So, I receive both Skymiles and Starpoints...(BTW...Starpoints can easily be converted into most ANY airlines FF miles!). :)

I don't have a Starpoints account (not even sure what it is :o ), so I guess I'll ask about FF miles. :)
Thank you for your response. :)

Tia - if you belong to the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program - http://www.starwood.com/preferredguest/index.html - and give your membership number when you stay at any Starwood property (Swan/Dolphin, any Sheraton, Westin, Four Points, etc.) - you get 2 Starpoints per dollar spent. If you are a gold or platinum Starwood member, you get 3 points/dollar.
I think what Dreamflight99 is saying is that she gets Starpoints when she stays at Starwood properties for being a Platinum SPG member. She pays for the stay with her Delta Skymiles AMEX card and gets as many airline miles as dollars charged for the hotel stay. Some people have the Starwood AMEX card, and you get as many Starpoints as dollars charged.
If you want airline miles without getting a new credit card, go to your airline's web site to find out how to get FF miles for staying at a particular hotel chain. You usually get a fixed number of miles per stay - generally 500 miles. Here's the link to United's hotel partners: http://www.ual.com/site/primary/0,10017,1196,00.html
