Greetings all my name is Melissa and I am a diser. Many of will not know me as I am more of a lurker on the boards but I have been around for about 3 years now. On to the cast:
Me: Melissa or Mel. I am 29 years old, approaching the ever popular and dreaded age of 30 in October. I  Disney. I went on my first trip at 3 and have gone numerous times since. I married young at 19 but have been with my husband for 10 years. I am double employed as a Business Manager at a preschool and as a supervisor in a retail establishment. If given time I will sit down and read an entire book without stopping. I love, love, love to take pictures as you will soon see. I LOVE musical movies and I know Grease and Dirty Dancing from stop to finish.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/meli2678/Disney%202008/July2008120.jpg
DH: James or Jamie. He is 37 years old and along for the ride. This will be his 5th trip to the world. He knows we are going on this trip and for how long but pretty much leaves the planning up to me. He works for a liquor distributor and for the first time in a long time really enjoys his job. He loves all things NASCAR. He loves car movies and anything with Burt Reynolds (huge Smokey and the Bandit fan). He won’t admit it but he too knows Grease from stop to finish…including the dance moves.

DS: Colby, Colbster. He is my almost 5 year old baby. Colby is becoming an old pro at Disney as this is his 3rd trip. A little background for you. Colby is James’s nephew once removed (James’s niece’s son). Colby came to stay with us during a difficult time in my life (I had just had a miscarriage). He was supposed to stay with us 1 week while his birth mother "straightened out her life". This was in July of 2004, he has been a part of our family since he was 11 months old. We received legal custody in July of 2005 and the rest is history. He sees his birth mother and maternal grandparents on weekends. Colby is a funny child; he has the best laugh ever and has always had a thing for music. He loves his Daddy and follows him everywhere. He is a smart little boy and the light of our lives. He is also very compassionate and really feels for others. He will be starting Kindergarten in the fall so gone are the days of going to Disney whenever we feel like it.

Our trip dates were May 30 – June 7 and we stayed at our favorite value, Pop Century. We stopped for an overnight on the way to Disney and actually celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Friday, our last park day. I hope you all will stick around and enjoy this new report.
Up Next: Random thoughts and the pre-Disney part of our trip.

We decided to drive from East Tennessee (where we live) to Jacksonville, FL for our first night. You see, James loves the beach; I on the other hand am not so big of a fan. I can tolerate one day so we picked the Jacksonville area and went with that. I did quite a bit of bargain shopping on Disney shopping and stocked up on quite a few t-shirts for us all to wear on the trip. I also put together a gift basket for all of us from Mickey that was to be waiting at the room in Disney. James had borrowed a Garmin from his boss to use and that was a life savor for us…we are notorious for getting lost everywhere we go, our very first trip to Disney together we used an Atlas, missed our exit and ended up in Yeehaw Junction close to Miami.
The drive down was pretty un-eventful. James likes to leave in the wee hours of the morning to miss Atlanta traffic so we left out at around 3 or 3:30. It was daylight when we drove through Hotlanta so I snapped a few pics.

Somewhere in GA, we stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then headed on to Valdosta and the Fl welcome center. It is a tradition in my family (we did it when I was growing up) to stop and the welcome center for pics in front of the sign. So we made those pictures and goofed around for a little bit. It was still early in the morning and man was it hot already.

We then headed on over to Jacksonville. I got some pictures of the Jacksonville area and after we checked into our hotel we headed out to find the beach. We ended up at Neptune Beach and spent the day there. The only complaint I have is that there was no-where to rinse off so we tracked a lot of sand back in MY car.

We had dinner, made a stop at Walgreens because Colby was fighting summer allergies already and settled in to watch Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. We fell asleep quickly excited about the next day and reaching Disney.
Coming up Day 2: Waisting time in St. Augustine and if this water is supposed to make me younger than why does it taste so bad? I see that some people have at least viewed the report, I hope I haven't bored you to death. I will get to Disney first thing next week, promise!

We got up pretty early the next morning and went down to have some of the lovely  breakfast offered the hotel. We spent some time discussing our plans for the day as we didn’t need to check into Disney until 3:00 and we had some time to kill. I have always wanted to visit the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine so we decided to let good ole Garmin lead the way. The Fountain is located on 15 acres of natural park land. After a few wrong turns, darn that Garmin we found the fountain entrance on a beautiful tree lined street.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008078.jpg
We paid the admission price $12 for the three of us (I think Colby was free) and headed in. Since I will be the big 30 this year I wanted to partake of the fountain, good grief I hope a small sip worked because that water was horrible, here are a couple of photos from the fountain room.

http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008043.jpg
Sorry about the devil eyes...
After visiting the fountain itself we decided to forgo the guided tour and explore on our own. The park is a natural nesting place for Peacocks and we saw quite a few. They also have tame squirrels that you can hand feed peanuts (Peacocks like them too). They also had an Ostrich chick that Colby and I really got a kick out of. You can spend as much time as you like there and we really enjoyed exploring the area. We exited through the gift shop and I purchased my own bottle of the spring water from the fountain, just in case that sip didn’t work.

We headed over to the Castillo de San Marcus after leaving the fountain. We didn’t go in the fort itself but we took some nice photos around the outside. It was already sweltering so we didn't spend a great deal of time here, due to there being no shade anywhere. As we were leaving Colby got to meet several gentlemen that were dressed as soldiers.

My parents stopped in at St. Augustine on their honeymoon, so did my husband and I so it was nice to visit again. I think Colby really enjoyed it too.

We were finally on the road to Disney. We made a couple of stops along the way for gas and to eat and then we saw that old familiar site that brings a smile and possible tear to anyone.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008103.jpg
After a couple of wrong turns (This is our 2nd stay at Pop you’d think we’d remember how to get there) and no help from Garmin we saw this:
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008105.jpg
Colby was asleep by this time so I left James and him in the air conditioning while I braved the boiling pavement parking lot to go in to check us in for the week. As soon as those doors opened I could not help the huge smile that graced my lips. I was home, at Disney in June, it was going to be good week I could feel it. Checking in on a Sunday afternoon was nice, I was 3rd in line and check in went smoothly. I paid for a preferred room and we were assigned to the 70’s section, 3rd floor. I asked for our gift basket, grabbed my welcome pack and headed back to the car.
We drove around to the 90’s parking lot and grabbed as many things as we could and went to locate our room. I was pleased with the room because the pool and classic hall were both just steps away but we had a garden view rather than a pool view and it wasn’t as loud. In the window we were greeted with our first 2 towel animals of the week, last year we had two puppies all week but this year our mousekeeper was much more creative. Here are our first 2 friends
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008107-1.jpg
James and Colby both took a seat on the bed and I sat the gift basket on the table for Colby to open. I had a few items put in the basked for each of us, including Happy Anniversary pins for James and myself. Colby loved his gifts from Mickey.

We headed over to Classic Hall for some dinner and a browse around the gift shop. I take lots of pictures but none of food but I will try to remember what we ate. I think James and I both had a cheeseburger and Colby had kids nuggets. James and I both bought hats for the week and I got Colby an autograph book. We also invested in our mugs. We then took a stroll around the resort and took some pictures.

Today we would be visiting Epcot but first we had an appointment at the Poly. We had an 8:00 appointment with a photopass photographer. We all got up early and got ready to go. We hopped in the car and drove to the Poly, got parked and actually beat the photographer to the booth. We were the first appointment of the day. We did this last year at the Grand Floridian and I guess I will say there are pros and cons to both resorts. Colby is light haired so he has major issues with squinting in the sun, last year the photog made sure to make good use of the shade so there would not be as many “closed eye” photos. Our photog this year didn’t do as well, however we did get some nice family shots and she did use some good locations.

After we finished up at the poly we went back to the room so that Colby and I could change our clothes. We then headed over to Epcot. Even with our late arrival the crowds were not too bad. We ran over to the character connection to see the characters and quickly discovered that we would have to come back later in the week (first thing in the morning) to avoid the lines. We went back over to Spaceship Earth and jumped in the short/fast moving line. Colby and I sat in one car and James in another. I have to say that I like the changes, we enjoyed answering the questions and watching our video on the decent back down to earth. After our ride we stopped to listen to the Jaminators. James really loved this group and actually stopped to listen several times during the week.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008141.jpg
We headed over to the land to get fastpasses for Soarin and then we headed over to the Seas to ride Nemo and see Turtle Talk. Colby loves both of these attractions and we always end up back at the seas several times each trip.

We stopped at the Electric Umbrella for lunch, James and I had cheeseburgers and Colby had nuggets. We then headed over to the land to fastpass Soarin and ride Living with the Land. Colby really loved Soarin this year and had a blast. This would be Colby’s first ride on the land, last year he slept through it. He really enjoyed seeing all the foods and live animals.

We stopped at the Kidcot station (the only one Colby did) and visited with the CM there for awhile. Colby colored a lady bug for his mask while I waited and James took a smoke break.

Somewhere in the mix we rode Journey into the Imagination, which Colby loved and remembered quite well from last year, as soon as we were moving he had his nose plugged and I remembered to plug my ears at the end. We got fastpasses for Test Track and then headed over to World Showcase to walk around a bit. We never spend a lot of time in World Showcase so this year we made a point to spend more time there and really soak it all in. All the flowers were still out from the flower and garden festival. It made for some pretty shots.

As soon as we stepped into Mexico we met up with Fiesta Donald. Colby carries an autograph book and we try to see as many characters as we can. After talking to Donald we headed into the Mexican pavilion to take a look around and ride the River of Time. We enjoyed the ride and goofed around in the pavilion taking photos.

At this point we headed over to Norway to brave the Malestorm. Colby LOVED this ride and insisted we come back and ride it again. I hadn’t ridden it since I was a child so it was almost new to me as well. We ran through the movie and almost got caught in the doors. After the ride we had to mess around with the big troll.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008176.jpg
I love his battle face.
We moved on to China and stopped for awhile to watch the acrobats and then sat down outside the pavilion while James took a smoke break. We then went into the pavilion to look at the clay soldiers and different items for sale. Colby really liked a lot of the items for sale in the store and played for a while. As we left the pavilion we ran into Mulan and Mushu. The princesses really took to Colby this year and Mulan was no exception. He got a big hug and kiss (much to his dismay) from Mulan. The photog had us all get together for a big family photo and we moved on.

I had to throw this one in for good measure...this is what my husband does when he waits for Colby and I with the characters:
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney2008186.jpg
At this point it was our window for Test track so we headed over there to use our fastpasses. It began to rain while we were in line and we kept hearing messages about them possibly shutting it down. We finally got up to our car and I buckled my belt into the wrong place and we couldn’t get Colby buckled. The car took over and I started to freak out thinking he was going to fall out, luckily they have that second area and they released all the belts and we got fixed and went on our way. Colby didn’t like the ride as much this year and as much as I tried to prepare myself for it that stupid truck still scared the crap out of me. As we blasted through the doors we got a major surprise, it was raining so our entire car got soaked and the rain hurt. I couldn’t believe they ran test track when it was raining like that. Here is our lovely ride photo:
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/image082-1.jpg
Colby looks terrified...and well so does James. I don't know what in the world I was doing.
After test track we visited the Seas yet again to get in another ride on Nemo. James opted out of this ride and met us at the exit where Colby expressed his need to go yet again. A cm overheard and sent us through a door to go right back on no wait. We spent some time looking around at all the tanks and headed on out to the park exit.

We were at Epcot the same day you were and my son wore the exact same shirt your son is wearing! He also got some lovin' from Mulan:

I'm enjoying your report! Can't wait to see when you go next...we might be there too!
Welcome to the report Nee Nee. Your son is such a cutie!! Looks like you had lunch/dinner with the princesses, did your family enjoy it? We will be headed back in November for a very short trip. Our next big vaca will be in June 0f 2009, probably the first week again.
Oh, I hope Mulan is around when my kids are there:) she looks like she loves what she does:) Your pictures are wonderful...How many may I ask did you take? I hope I have enough for our trip:)
Welcome Noahdove! This Mulan was very sweet and just really seemed to love children. I LOVE taking photos, it is a hobby and a passion of mine. I took over 800 pictures and ended up with almost 400 on photopass. Use photopass, especially if you are the picture taker...it ensures that you get in some photos too.
Wow, what great pics, it sounds like you had a wonderful day. That pic of Colby with the lipstick was just too cute.:)
Thanks Tink! Colby didn't mind the kiss but hated the evidence left on his face. ;)
I'll have more report ready on Monday or Tuesday.

Hello readers. I have not forgotten you or my report. This was Colby's last week of preschool and his last day is today so I have been a bit pre-occupied...I promise an update on Monday. :thumbsup2

I had to laugh when I read this because my DH knows Grease pretty well too but would claim to dispise it if asked! :rotfl2:
I hope these aren't huge...I resized in Photobucket before posting.
I am having issues with sizing my pictures in my trip report too...at first they were huge and I thought I fixed them but now they are tiny! It's driving me bananas!
We decided to drive from East Tennessee (where we live)
Ok...so I have to admit, this is part of what grabbed me. Recently, we have been trying to find a cheaper, different kind of mini-vacation spot and we were intrigued by some cabins in the Mountains...my problem is that I am not very familiar with that area (because it is not in the land of Mouse!) so have a lot of research to do!
He got a big hug and kiss (much to his dismay) from Mulan.
Tyler's (now 9 1/2) first kiss was Snow White! But he loved the red lip marks left on his cheek!
Looking forward to more...

Hi Sherry! Welcome. If you need any help with the cabin research let me know and I will do what I can...we live about 30 mins from Townsend and 45 from Pigeon Forge.

This morning we got up got ready to head to Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is never a full day park for us…it is just too hot. We immediately headed over to Asia to ride Everest. Colby isn’t tall enough to ride yet so we parent swapped. James went first while Colby and I waited. It was only a little after 9 and we were already sweating. As we watched different groups go down the hill Colby commented on how he was never going to ride Everest (a theme will develop here), we moved inside the gift shop to cool off, look around and wait for James. When James came back I took my turn with the Yeti. After this point we then headed over to Dinoland to ride Dinosaur (a favorite of Colby’s from our last trip). There was no wait so we headed on in, Colby was excited and ready to ride until we sat down and got buckled in, it was then that Colby decided he was ready to get off. He spoke up a little late and we were off. He held on to me for dear life but escaped the Meteor unscathed. Here are some pictures from our morning.

It is kind of hard to see cause this is the redneck version but still funny! The lady beside me and her family behind had never ridden before.

After Dinosaur we headed over to the Character meeting with Pooh and friends. I think this is a nice meet because you are in the shade and always have great interactions. Be prepared for lots of character photos…we met quite a few on this day. We spent quality time with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore & Tigger (my personal fav). I just love this interaction…you never feel rushed. It was kinda of funny as we were leaving though…Tigger was the last one we met, we left him and headed up the exit and passed Tigger (wait didn't we just see you) coming from the entrance. I hope Tigger #1 knew his doppelganger was on the way or that would have been interesting for the children... On the news at 5:00, Tigger meets his long lost twin brother, guess he isn't one of a kind after all.
We stopped for our first ice cream of the trip. Who says you can’t have icecream before lunch? After our icecream we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey and there we met Goofy, Minnie, Daisy, Mickey and Koda from Brother Bear. It is funny because I swear we spent more time waiting in lines to meet characters than to get on rides.
I was so excited to meet Daisy because I was wearing her on my shirt however the Photopass photog cropped me out of the photo…so no photo of me and Daisy. Here are some photos from the next part of our day.
Some of these photos will have to be added later as I don't have my photopass cd with me today.

We headed over to the Safari to get fastpasses before heading over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. On the way over we met Lilo and Stich as well as Terk from Tarzan. Somewhere during this period we stopped off for lunch at Pizzasafari. This was a very crowded restaurant, we had to wait in line for a long time and then try to find a table while pushing a stroller and carrying trays. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. James and I had pizza and Colby had Spaghetti.
We had never been to Rafiki’s so we really enjoyed the sideways train ride over. We actually had to wait on the train for quite some time as a young guest had gotten off before and overcome by heat, passed out right there on the walkway. She got up on her own and her family helped her on her way. Once we arrived we immediately got in line to meet Rafiki, Pocohantas and Jimminy Cricket. We spent a little time exploring the exhibits. Colby really enjoyed looking at the different animals behind glass and James watched an animal have surgery. Colby got to listen to a cast member talk about what they feed the animals in AK and explore the various foods and other things (you'll see what I mean in the pictures). We went out to the petting zoo but quickly decided it was way to hot to pet those animals and I didn't want to stink the rest of the day so we headed back to the train and over to Safari.

Hello everyone...I didn't get any responses from my last report so I forgot about it a bit when life made itself known. Anyway I am now officially a proud Kindergarten parent and we have slowed down a bit so I am back with more trip report. I hope I still have some readers. I take you back to your regularly scheduled trip report...in COLOR to add some kick! Now where was I?
We went on our 2 week safari cut short by poachers and saved the baby elephant. The safari is one of our favorite rides as a family, Colby really enjoys pointing out all of the animals.
Before heading out of the park for the day we did stop and enjoy some of the parade. You can’t help but dance when you hear that song. Sorry no pics because we watched from a distance. On our way out we stopped for some pics with the big tree. I will have to add the photopass pics later.
Here are some pictures from the rest of our time at AK.

Welcome...we stared at this for quite awhile, while they waited for some birds to clear the trail. I didn't think we would ever get movin it was funny to hear the drivers getting digs in at each other while we waited.

We left AK and headed over to Magic Kingdom the second park for the day. We were excited to hear that MK was staying open till 2:00 AM that day so we would have lots of time to do our favorites. Not that we planned to keep Colby out till 2:00 we were going to play it by ear. As we walked into the park we saw 2 of our favorite trouble makers and had to stop for a visit.

Hey...I see some Lime green, do you?
I do not remember how we toured the park but I have to tell you that we are a “back and forth” kind of family so we just went to what we liked and what had short wait times.
We headed towards the Haunted Mansion first but it has quite a wait time so we skipped it for the moment and went over to fantasy land. There we grabbed fast passes for peter pan and received bonus Philharmagic passes. We headed over to one of Colby’s favs, small world where Colby pointed out everything I should take pictures of.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney%20Day%204%20part%202/Disney2008289.jpg
There was a lizard on this wall so when Colby climbed up to see it I asked him to pose - this ended up being my fav picture from the whole trip.

Just because it is funny...try explaining to a 4 year old why you think it is funny
We then headed over to Buzz to defeat Zurg (another fav of Colby’s) and then back over to fantasy land for Pan and Philharmagic. I will tell you in year’s past Colby had not really cared for this attraction…he really loved it this year and was so proud that he kept the glasses on and his ears unplugged. After the show we headed back to HM and finally got to see our favorite 999 haunts, this ride never ever gets old for me or my family. We LOVE it! After escaping the mansion we moseyed over to Frontierland for Thunder Mountain, Colby cried on (just out of the blue and he had ridden before) this until we got going. When we were finished he said that it wasn’t so bad after all and really enjoyed it.
We trekked over to Adventureland next to visit our favorite Captain, we knew that Pirates would be closing down for refurb so we wanted to ride as much as possible before that happened. When we came out it was pouring down rain so we hung out in the shop for awhile before getting our ponchos and heading out, the rain didn’t’ last too long so we rode Jungle Cruise before it got dark. Afterwards we headed over to Tomorrowland to ride the TTA and see the castle all lit up in the dark. This is another park fav and we could ride it over and over easy. After our ride through Tomorrowland we hit Buzz again and then headed to Fantasyland to find a place to watch the fireworks, we stood next to the Carousel area and that was like watching a tennis match… a lot of back and forth going on there. I managed to snag a few decent pictures.
Afterwards we did Philharmagic again and rode the Carousel before heading towards the front of the park. On our way out we did stop for a few to catch some of Spectro – it was beautiful, we will definitely need to plan to stay for the whole parade next year. I have to admit I found the Cirque guys at the beginning to be amazing and hard to take my eyes off of. They were just a lot of fun. We went back to the room for a late night snack and to bed because tomorrow we had a breakfast date. Here are pictures from the rest of our day.

This morning was an early morning because we were going back to the Magic Kingdom to have breakfast at Crystal Palace. This is the only ADR we had for the trip and we did it to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Upon arrival at the gates of the Magic Kingdom it took some time to figure out where to go, after having a cast member yell at us for going under the rope, which we were told to do by another cast member we were finally on our way up mainstreet. It was so quiet and peaceful that I wish we would have had more time to soak it all in but alas we had to rush as we had a date with Pooh and friends.
When I made our ressie I told the cm that we were celebrating an anniversary, I wasn't really expecting anything but wanted it noted. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity our name was called and we were lead to our table next to a bank of windows in the room to the left. The last time we ate there our window looked over the porch and I will tell you it is no fun trying to eat while kids are staring at you through the window. This time we got lucky as no-one could look through our window. As we arrived at the table we were greeted by this:

Colby's attempt at a picture
Our waitress explained everything about the breakfast and let us know that Pooh was on his way. I will tell you know that it was a good 20 minutes before Colby and I got to eat. The characters came so quickly that we just couldn’t get up and go get food. There was a lot to choose from and we definately got our fill! Here are our pictures with the crew.

When we were about finished James took Colby to the bathroom and our waitress just kept coming by and asking where “Dad” was, I was beginning to become suspicious of her. Finally they come back and Tigger was making his rounds again. Here comes the waitress with a cupcake (With candle) and a certificate to celebrate our anniversary, she tells Tigger and he shakes James’s hand and then poses for a picture with the two of us to celebrate. This would not be the only time we received special treatment because of our anniversary.

The park opened while we were at breakfast so we walked out into droves of people, that didn’t keep us from taking our time and really just soaking it all in. To me it was kind of funny to watch as people made the mad dash into the park. With full stomachs we ventured out into the world!

Remember that cupcake...Colby only eats icing so here he is feeding the cake part to the ducks.

I love the castle just like this, I sincerely hope Disney doesn't slap a big birthday hat on it for the new celebration. :scared1:

We decided to head towards Liberty Square to ride Haunted Mansion once again. I stopped and noticed the Liberty Tree for the first time. James and Colby got into a bit of trouble on the way.

Finally we arrived at the Haunted Mansion. Colby loves this ride so much and very seriously takes the statement that a Ghost will follow you home. As a matter of fact he talks about our Ghost a lot and even drew him in a family picture he made at school.

As we headed back towards Frontierland, we caught Woody’s roundup and decided to wait for Woody and Jessie to do a meet afterwards. That is a bad place to wait, directly in the sun and we were sweating! Colby wasn’t really in to meeting Jessie but she made such a big deal about his Buzz Lightyear shirt that he couldn’t help but love her.

At this point Splash was a walk on so we decided to ride. Colby sat with me this year and he had a blast. He kept his eyes open and said he had a great time. We were going to ride BTM but the line was long so we headed to Tomorrowland and ran into someone special!
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney%20Day%204%20part%202/Disney%20Day%205/Disney2008373.jpg
Buzz loved Colby’s shirt and came over to me to point at by anniversary button, we got a lot of attention from characters with those buttons. After we met buzz we saw that Stitch was out and decided to go and see him. Stitch is another favorite of ours; he is always so much fun! While waiting our turn the photopass photographer noticed my pin and my shirt, she asked me how many years and then gave me a tinkerbell pin as a congrats! Gotta love those pins.

We decided it was time to grab some lunch so we stopped off at Cosmic Rays. We ordered our food and received two free desserts because of our pins, yippee these pins are AWESOME!! We ate our lunch and tried decide where to head next. We decided to head over to Toontown Fair to meet some old friends.

We headed back around to Adventureland and met up with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee (they were not thrilled with my tink shirt or hat). We stopped in frontierland to listen to the band and bird watch and then headed on out of the park, the park closed early on this night due to the P & P Party. Colby fell asleep in his stroller waiting on the ferry and slept all the way back to the room.

That is good to hear! I am in the market for a new camera but don't want anything expensive or complicated. I think what I have now is a Kodak Easyshare - but an old one.
Love the picture of Colby on Small World - he looks so happy! And I always love the sleeping kid pics!

Since we are leaving tomorrow for our short Thanksgiving trip I thought I would try to get in an update...
Day 6: We started this day out at Disney Hollywood Studios, there aren’t many rides we do here so we kinda moved at a leisurely pace. We also met a lot of characters so prepare for lots of character pics. We got a times guide and headed over to the Streets of America to meet the Power Rangers. I stopped to pose next to a poster of my favorite show outside of the ABC Commissary.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney%20Day%204%20part%202/Disney%20Day%205/Disney%20Day%206/Disney2008411.jpg
We noticed that there were photopass photogs out in droves so we grabbed a few fun shots near Star Tours and headed over to get in line to meet the Red Ranger! RR loved Colby’s shirt and showed him how to pose.

With no real touring plan in mind we did the back and forth sort of thing. We rode star tours and caught a glimpse of the Jedi Training Academy. We also met Chip and Dale at the big hat. I just happened to be wearing my C & D shirt which got me a lot of attention. Chip thought it was so funny that Dale was the wrong color. They loved Colby’s power ranger shirt so they posed appropriately.

We headed over to Pixar Place to check the wait time of TSMM, it has a 20 minute line so we decided to hop on in. The que for this ride is amazing, we had so much fun just checking out the details. As we approached Mr. Potato Head we noticed that he was picking on people. Once we got in site we were picked on twice! First he noticed our pins and had the entire crowd wish us a Happy Anniversary then he singled me out. “Hey lady in the tan shirt, yeah you the one pretending that I am not talking about her, the top of your hat is missing, if anyone has seen the top of this lady’s hat let her know”. He had a field day with my sunvisor! It was loads of fun and Colby got a kick out of it!

We loved the ride, James and Colby rode together and I ended up with a single rider who happened to recognize me from Mr. Potato's picking earlier. She and I had a good chance to get to know each other when we got stuck on the ride for about 20 minutes. I thought Colby would go berserk and take James down with him.
Next we headed over to wait in line for Mator and Lightnening McQueen, I am glad they moved these guys it was hot in that line! We also met Sully and Mike and then headed back over to ABC for lunch. I honestly do not know why we torture ourselves by eating there…it is the worst counter service on property! Colby and I headed into the Animator’s studio in hopes of meeting the incredibles but Frozone was there.

Once we were done here we headed over to the big rides (at some point during the day we grabbed fast passes for TOT and RRC). This is where the meltdown comes in to play. The last time we were in Disney we took Colby on TOT, he didn’t care for it. As soon as the Tower came into view Colby started crying…he was not going on that ride and we could not make him. We got some stares from people during that episode. We explained that we would take turns and he didn’t have to ride. So James and I took turns going solo. It is funny how more independent you become as an adult…no way I would have waited in line by myself when I was a teen. I LOVE TOT so I didn’t mind going solo. After James took his turn he went to use his RRC pass while Colby and I headed back over to meet the Incredibles. We also met Sorceror Mickey and played in the studio while we waited for James to come back.

http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n384/mellymel1078/Disney%20Day%206%20part%202/Disney2008453.jpg
Colby and I had a lot of fun in the studio...we found out which character we were most like and lent our voices to the characters of the lion king.
Once James showed up (he milled around in the gift shop after his ride) we headed to the GMR a family favorite of ours. After we became part of the movies we headed back out to the hat to meet Minnie and Max as well as Aladdin and Jasmine. Colby received his second kiss from Jasmine and again I got the picture to prove it!

At this point James was ready to go as he was itching to go to DTD so we back to the room for a quick rest and refresh and then headed to shoppers paradise! James disappeared for quite a while in World of Disney while Colby and I shopped for gifts for his teachers. James came back with an anniversary gift for me…a Mickey head necklace. I was very touched and surprised that the did that for me. We all picked out souvies and then headed to Goofy’s Candy Company to make our own treats. Colby and I both got Rice Crispies treats and James got a big cookie. We headed back Pop to get ready for our last day at Disney.

Insteading of having the entire trip report link down there I would rather it say June 2008 Trip Report (In Progress) or something like that...

Tammy, we caught the PP early in the morning at DHS on the way to the Power Ranger meetngreet (I'd say around 10). He was near the Star Wars ride and was easy to spot since he had a couple of light sabors.
great photopass pics.
Thanks Scott!!

I bet the fella that took mine and Farrah's pics could have done that. I had no idea at the time. See....you learn something new every day! My oldest so is a Star Wars freak! I'll have to find this fella in August. (We're considering Star Wars weekend too...waiting for deals)
