Hey all-
Does anyone have a picture of the FW tire cover that you can get at the trading post or through WDW merchandising? I ordered one but haven't a clue what it looks like. I know the old one used to have Mickey holding a musket.

TIA

I am pretty sure it looks similar to this...no more musket (sniff sniff)

Thanks...another friend said it might look like a design on a tapestry she has with the gang in a RV.

I know.. I miss Musket Mickey!

Thanks again...

Ours is a background of white with "walking stick Mickey". While I would haved preferred the musket..the one with the walking stick is nice, and I like the colors. This is several years old, I believe they offer one now with a black background. Probably doesn't show the dirt as easily that's for sure.

Our's is the walking stick Mickey also. For what we paid for it...it should be the "vintage" Musket Mickey!

Do either of you have a picture that I can stare and get excited looking at while I wait for mine to arrive?
TIA
Happy Friday!

This is the rug/tapestry I think will be the pic on your tire cover, we framed it and it hangs in the TT.

What a great idea to frame it! Our's is getting dirty on the floor! The tire cover does look a bit different though...much like the walking stick Mickey on the camper pic. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of ours though, sorry!

The tire cover I bought Mar 07 was like AuburnJen's picture (Mickey with the Walking stick) but it also has the Fort name.

I also have the tapestry rug which I use in my popup regularly. In fact, I have an outside rug to do a prelim wipe and then the rule is "no shoes/flip flops" in the camper. The FW rug is inside the door. I also have the Mickey/Walking stick vinyl magnet on my stove, the FW kuzie for my beer, the white vinyl window sticker on my van back window, the luggage tag, the key ring............yada...yada...

Thanks for all the replies... if anyone is interested, when the tire cover finally does arrive, I'll post a picture! Amazingly, I don't own a camper just a Honda CR-V with the spare tire.

I wonder if deep inside, I bought the car just so I could get a MM tire cover! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

We had a MM tire cover. DH put it on his Jeep Wrangler and it was promptly stolen! If you get one, be careful. We have another one but have the metal cord through it (instead of elastic) with a lock.

Although I have my FW/Mickey Walking Stick tire cover on my popup spare, I put my generic-looking Jayco cover over THAT because I was afraid of the very same thing. I show the FW cover with pride when doing long-distance driving (several hours) but whenever I get to my destination I cover Mickey up again.

Sorry that happened to you!

Kris/WDWRunner: I did the 5k/HalfM/10k/WholeM in consecutive years 2001-2004 (before kids cramped my training schedule). During the Whole, I can show you the crack in the road between AK and WideWorld of Sports at mile 18.5 where I hit the "wall". I made it to the finish line and would like to do it again someday but good for you, keep doing your racing, and keep us updated!

Good for you, Bama ED!. I only started running so that I could run at WDW! Little did I know that I would get hooked. I am not fast by any means, but enjoy the people I meet at races. FYI, there is an internet group called the Disney Dead Runners. Yup, runners who did Disney. We are from all over the world actually. If you are interested, check out http://disneydeads.com . Just like DisForums, they are a very welcoming group.

Also, for any other runners/walkers out there, www.disneyrunning.com has a forum as well.

I stumbled on this Camping thread by accident with my questions about the tire cover, and have found you all to be very welcoming! thanks for that!

:cheer2:

I will keep you posted..my goal in the half in 09 is to finish upright, with a smile , wanting to do it again. :woohoo:

Thanks again to all for the warm welcome.
Kris, STILL waiting for her tire cover!

I'm not fast, I'm just happy for the experience. My only goal in every race is to finish and stay ahead of the "Balloon Lady".

Bama ED

PS-For you non-runners, in longer races the Balloon Lady is a person who walks with a handful of helium balloons so you can see her coming who is "the last person in the race"/brings up the rear. If you are so slow that she overtakes you, you have to "quit" the race officially. When I did the WDW marathon in '04 I think it was a 7 hour limit! But I made it in 4-45.

I think the old original cover looked a bit like this picture-logo. This is a Christmas time picture. We were there in 1975, when the steam train ran around the perimeter of the campsite, its was ok to swim in the lake, Discovery Island was actually Treasure Island ( such fun) and Tails End had a really great Chip & Dale character breakfast buffet.

Here is a picture of mine. Sorry it's all bushy. I have my HTT backed into a bush.

I also have that blanket. I keep it in the trailer over the back of the couch.

The tire cover has arrived! Found the box on my porch this afternoon.

And the cover is....... the exact same one that is pictured in the post above! It is Mickey with the Walking Stick and the big Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground logo on it. It has a black background which will look awesome on my silver Honda. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Now, who can help me on how to put it on my spare so that it doesn't get stolen?

Thanks everyone!!

LIQUID NAILS or GORILLA GLUE. :thumbsup2

I just had the 2nd FW magnet stolen from the back of my van. Next time I may have to try Gorilla glue. I think next time I will just get the bumper sticker. Luckily, my antennae is so high that noone can reach it to steal it w/o a ladder. LOL

Cottontail curl gave me a hitch cover of mickey. I love it. The locking hitch pins keep it safe. Don't they have wire locking cable for the tire cover as well? I am sure an auto parts store like autozone, etc. would have one.

wdwrunner

Thanks! I will look at the auto parts store. THis cover just literally fits over the exisiting cover and I am not sure a cable would work. I guess if they wanted it badly enough they would just slice the cover and take it. (defeating the purpose I know)

Maybe I will do what one person suggested.... just put it on for the "long drives" and then take it off once we get where we are going. It's VERY easy to take off unlike the Honda one currently on there that youhave to UNZIP.

Thanks for all the ideas though.

Someone mentioned the older covers. I don't know how many different ones were made, or what order they came out in except that the walking stick Mickey is the newest of the bunch. Of course, the TT I have now has the spare mounted under the tongue.

Wow, thanks ynottony99! Incredible collection. I hope you don't mind, I redrew this one, and posted a link to the Illustrator file in the DisCreations thread (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27068520&postcount=4). BTW, whoever drew it initially didn't know a thing about guns -- the stock is upside down! :goodvibes
