Morning, well we didnt have too good a sleep due to be just along from the lobby. DH got off to sleep okay but then woke up every hour or so with people walking past the room and being able to hear the music from the lobby. Dont you want me baby by Human League was blasting out throughout the night. I hadnt been that conscious of the music when I went to sleep just the people walking past as it is the main entrance for everyone on the ground floor and the elevator beeping. However, when I woke I thought it was the kids alarm going off so I got up to switch it off but then realised where the music was coming from.
DH then got up and was going to have a shower to wake himself up a bit. I told him not to as he looked tired and we needed to go to reception and ask for a room change. Reception were very helpful and promised us another room higher up today, we just have to pack up again and tell bell hop to pick the bags up and when we return our bags will be in the new room. The kids slept okay though. ds17 is in the bath now and you know where DS19 (bed) is but we are in no rush this morning.
We are just staying onsite and going to the other park this morning, Islands. It is class being able to keep you up to date and I rang my parents up this morning, via Skype. The call only cost about 20p, they thought they were having a dodgy phone call at first because I couldnt remember how to turn the sound up on the computer. Anyway going to get packed up now cya.

Thanks for the good wishes. Weather is lovely, hot and sunny. Here is what we have just done.
Hiya, we packed up and rang the bell hop. We had to wait in the room whilst he came and gave us a receipt for the luggage, the kids went for a wander round the hotel. We grabbed breakfast from the shop, delicious fruit cups filled with strawberries or a mixture of fruits.
By the time we left for the park it was 9.30 so it was just as well we had planned a Universal day because we just wouldnt have got on any rides without lengthy waits at Disney. Islands was very busy when we arrived but having the FOTL passes made a big difference because we were straight on rides. Rides had line times to a maximum of an hour and a half wait to some of them.
We were blasted out of a tunnel, swung every which way you can think of helping The Hulk. Shot up 200 foot in the air escaping Dr Doom, that quick your bottom leaves the seat. Battled with Spidermanś enemies whilst they blasted us with steam, fire, water before plunging us off a 200 ft imaginary building, thankfully Spidie saved us. Tackled rapid river rapids whilst Bluto tried to sink our raft. Plunged of a 60 ft waterfall whilst helping Dudley Do Right. Narrowly esaped a T Rex by dropping down a 85 ft drop and battled against another dragon, almost hitting it 3 times and within a foot, all the time high in the sky soaring around.
After such a busy morning, our appetites had been well and truly put into action. We went in the Mythos Restaurant, our favourite eating place. We were sat near a huge window with views over the park and had a delicious meal. I had a lovely chicken, cheese, bacon, baby spinach, blueberry salad. I had it last year and couldnt wait to try it again, it didnt disappoint. DH had a pasta dish, DS17 a burger and DS19 chicken wraps. All were lovely.
When we left the cool restaurant we were blasted with red hot heat. We decided to have another go on Dr Doom and again were blasted 200 foot into the sky. As we still felt full of energy we decided to call in Universal on the way back to the hotel.
Here we blasted aliens helping the Men in Black, went for a scenic boat ride only to be confronted with a gigantic blue white shark, fortunately, our captain had a gun and sorted the shark out. We then met up with Shrek and his friends and helped with rescue Fiona from the evil Lord who kidnapped her. This left just enough time to help ET find his way home.
We felt like going back to the hotel after all this activity and headed back to the hotelś lobby to see if the new rooms had been sorted out. Fortunately, they had and we are now on the 5th floor with quite a nice view but well away from all the noise in the foyer so sleep should be a lot more peaceful tonight.
Both DH and DS19 crashed out, whilst I did the unpacking. DS17 wasnt impressed when he came out of the bathroom and discovered them both asleep and me on the computer doing this. I think we are going down to the pool next.:goodvibes

Thanks. I dont know about Mythos and evening meals. If we are in Islands on an evening I will have a look. This is the rest of todayś activities.
Just me, DH and DS17 went down to pool whilst DS19 had a nap in the room. The pool was full of life with a DJ playing music and getting people to play games. We sat for a while just enjoying the activity plus I tried a Love in an Elevator cocktail (nice) and did a dip in the pool. After a while, we decided to have some tea so DS17 went back to the room to get DS19.
A good half hour later he reappeared after giving up waiting for DS19. DS17 wasnt hungry so we decided just to get some tea. I had a chicken grill sandwich and DH a pizza. Just after the food was delivered DS19 came down so we shared our food with him. the food was yummy.
After a quick change we headed back over to Universal. This time we headed straight to The Simpsons and had a ride of Krustyś rollercoaster, fought the aliens again at Men in Black. Whilst the kids tried to shoot more aliens I took some night time photos in that area. I came across a cockroach and as I used a table to steady the camera, a little frog sitting right next to the parasol post, it made me jump.
As we hadnt done the Mummy that day we thought we would go there next but it was all shut up as camera crews worked outside. I think Brendan Fraser is there tomorrow to launch The Mummy 3. We decided to watch the 360 cinescope show instead which shows clips from films on huge globes on the lagoon, with fireworks, lasers and film music.
It is so lovely just being 5 minutes away when it was time to the hotel (just had a shock then, most have pressed a wrong button on the computer because it started to write everything in Chinese). DH and DS17 were soon off to sleep whilst DS19 had a go on the computer. I will be off to sleep soon too.
Distance walked today is 9.26 miles which makes a total of 13.74 miles total. We have always wondered how much we walk in Orlando so this year I took my pedometer (My Health Coach DS Lite one).
Hope to talk to you tomorrow.

Wow, what an amazing day. Glad you could get your room changed, I hate that song and would be quite happy never to hear it again (yeah, thanks for getting it in my head, btw :rotfl: ) What was the 360 show like? It has never been on whilst we've been there.

The 360 show is quite good. It consists of several huge globes in the lagoon that show clips from classic films (old and modern), together with their theme music, with fireworks and lasers complimenting them eg like a huge shadow spider crawling along the MIB building or ET and friends cycling in the sky. The fireworks in no way compare to the Disney shows though but it is definitely worth a watch.:goodvibes

Thanks for sharing more of your lovely photos. I have always wussed out of Dudley Do Right as I don't think that drop looks possible! Maybe I will be brave enough one day especially with you saying that the restraining bars make it feel safer.
I love that walk from the Hard Rock to Universal, so peaceful and so quick!

Thanks, I decided back in 2000 to try all the rides at the new Islands of Adventure because it seemed little point me going if I didn't. Previous to that I didn't do any rollercoasters because I was scared.
That year as a lead up, I went on Rock n Rollercoaster and because I had shoulder restraints I found to my amazement I enjoyed the ride. I followed this by a trip on Duelling Dragons by myself whilst the hubbie looked after my sons (trying to stop calling them kids now as they are 17 and 19 and next month holds their next birthdays), much to my hubbie's amazement. I enjoyed the ride.
Since then I have not looked back and provided I have shoulder restraints I am fine and I have just thought this has nothing to do with Dudley Do Rights but what I think I am trying to say is I was scared to do all these rides but discovered they were fine. I didn't enjoy the nerves leading up to the ride but felt a sense of achievement when I had did it.
The only ride I don't touch is Tower of Terror. I hated the two goes I had on this back in 97 and 98. After the 98 ride, I staggered to a chair to sit down whilst they bought the photo and two women came over to see if I was okay. I have not gone on it since. However, I do wonder now if it would be tame compared to some of the newer rides I have been on but just have flashbacks of those silver, mirrored walls and terror strikes.:rotfl:
It did take me a while to pluck up the courage to go on Dr Doom. I go on it but it isn't one of my favourite rides. The youngest tried to stop me gripping on this year by holding one of my hands as it did its little rise. Sheer panic hit me, if I had long nails, he would have been involutarily scratched! It isn't so bad for them because they are all nearly or are 6 foot tall, whilst I am 5 foot 6 so experience quite a bit of airtime at the top compared to them. One of the times I went on it I flew that fast I was forced out to the harness which was a bit unnerving.
So now I have a go on a ride and decide if I like it or not.

I am so impressed, Bev, I hope one day I will be as brave as you! I had a nasty experience with the Big One at Blackpool when I was 16 which pretty much finished me off as far as rollercoasters are concerned. It took me a long time to work up to Space Mountain, Splash and Jurassic Park. Maybe Dudley Do Right will be next.....

What a coincidence, you just jogged my memory. I went to Blackpool with a friend when I was 18 or 19 and we went on the Grand Prix or Grand National, two racing cars. I hate this ride, you only had a restraining bar and everytime you went over a bump, you left your seat and felt like you were going to thrown out of the car. This is where I learnt to hate rollercoasters which lasted about 22 years.

A nightmare at a theme park did the opposite to me!
I was on a Pirate ship in American Adventure and at the top, I did actually fly out of my seat! My mum, thank god, was sitting next me and somehow managed to REACH UP and grab my ankle! So that gives you some idea of how high I went lol.
And I love any sort of rollercoaster or scary ride. :D Call me weird lol.
