Is it dorky to wear socks with the traditional crocs? I love my crocs and where them around home all the time, and am considering bringing them to Disney this time since so many people talk about wearing them at Disney. Do most wear socks with them or not? I haven't worn them for so much walking, so if socks would help avoid rubbing, I would do it...but don't want anyone to laugh at me! :rotfl:

I don't wear crocs, because I have feet issues. Had surgery, and can't. But I have seen people wearing them with socks. My DD does not wear them anymore, long story, but she when she did she wore socks. So I say why not, who cares. JMO:thumbsup2

I wore socks with my crocs & glad I did! When it rained & we were all wet, I was glad for the protection. My feet didn't slip & slide as bad with socks. I also had a piece of moleskin on the ball of my foot. Moleskin is a WDW must for me! Have fun & actually, who cares what's on people's feet? You don't know them & they don't know you. Everyone's there for a super great time!

I only wear socks with the Aspens (no holes) and only in the cold weather. I don't wear socks with the Beach Crocs.

Hmmmm....if you havent tried wearing crocs for the long run, I stilll suggest you wear the good ol' standy the sneaker.....a good sneaker :)
I might wear my crocs to the pool with no socks, but I do prefer to wear my crocs with socks :)

I generally don't wear socks with crocs except for WDW. There is alot of walking invovled and sometimes the crocs rub too much. I wore the low cut socks and had no problems.

I had never worn crocs before my last trip to WDW and found them more comfortable than my tennis shoes.

It was hot when we were at WDW, so socks were NOT appealing. It was so nice to be cool in my crocs and dry off quickly when they got wet. I never had a problem with blisters even after water rides or rain storms.

I am even more convinced now to bring my crocs and socks along, too...I love these Dis Boards! I don't wear sneakers, so crocs and my Merrell sandals will be my shoes at WDW this year. :-)

All I wear is crocs. To work, around the house, I own several pairs. Socks or no socks it is your preference. Summers I go without but during the school year I wear socks I even have mammoths for the winter, I consider myself pretty stylish but when your teaching or running around with your kids you need to be comfortable, and it seems that my back hurts less. Crocs are god's gift to those who work on concrete floors:rotfl:

I do not wear socks with Crocs.
Would not, could not...
Socks with Crocs?
Rocks with box,
it is all the same.
The two never should be together,
again.

If you feel comfortable with wearing socks with your crocs then, by all means, wear them. You can also use a product called "Glide," which you can google or find in some stores (I found mine in at the Sports Authority) and you apply it to the areas like the top of your feet. But Glide is similar to deodrant sticks so I'd say try that first, if you want to go without socks. My advice would be to try to the Glide and also take socks.

We (DH and I) purchased Disney crocs before our trip last year, and we wore them our first day. They worked great for me - with no socks. My feet were pretty comfy all day. DH ended up at the "Nurse's office" for bandaids by mid morning and then put socks on with his Crocs for the rest of the day. (I packed a pair of socks for each of us in my bag since I was not sure how our feet would respond to a day of pounding the disney pavement).
We are both planning on wearing our Crocs again this Sept... I won't wear socks, he will... so I think its a personal thing - find what makes you comfy and go with it :thumbsup2

When we were in Disney last November there was one day that was slightly chilly and I was glad I had my ped socks on with my crocs. Do I think it's the most beautiful look? NO! But for comfort and warmth, crocs with socks can't be beat!

It's not the greatest look, but it's comfortable and practical as it keeps your feet from getting too dirty (my one pet peeve about crocs, those holes let all the dirt in). But I only wear socks with crocs during the winter if I'm going to the airport for a warm weather vacation since it's cold where I live during the winter. Then I just take off the socks where I get where I'm going. :)

When we were in AK in October, the yellow talking/moving garbage spent quite a bit of time racing my son in his electric wheelchair. He (the garbage can) spent equally as much time harrasing my husband about wearing crocs with his socks. The Can explained that just because we were from Canada that was no excuse. We areed with the garbage can.:rotfl2:

I have done both. If the morning starts out cold than I will start in socks but take them off later. You see people wearing their crocs both ways. It is all about your own comfort. enjoy

If I don't wear mine with socks, I get blisters. I dont' care what I look like as long as I'm comfy:goodvibes

Hi annie1995 here is another suggestion for blisters. Body Glide. It is what runners and dancers use to keep from getting blisters. Actual our last trip I ran out of body glide so I used roll on deoderent and that worked too.

I wouldn't think anything of it if I wore normal Crocs...what looks bad is the black socks pulled up and crocs. Saw several people like that at the fair yesterday...not very attractive. I would think short white ones would be ok???

Not only do I wear socks with my Crocs (only at WDW, btw), but I buy "special" socks to wear. Wal Mart has socks that have arch support and extra cushioning in the heels (significant extra cushioning) that I cannot do without. If it rains, they keep me from slipping around, and I take off the socks after the rain or if I get too hot. They make a WORLD of difference to me.

I have about a zillion pairs of crocs.....in all different colors....Yes I AM one of THOSE people...:rolleyes1 Me and My husband BOTH wear them WITH and WITHOUT socks. Now I consider myself to be pretty trendy.....so in my opinion IF the socks are LOW anklets ....you will be SAFE from looking like a dork:3dglasses Just don't....I REPEAT DON'T wear WHITE socks with black CROCS.....EWWWW....... They actually have black anklets that are very sporty for those black crocs. I have several pair of the Mary Jane style that are black and had to go with the black anklets for those. But LOW white anklets will do for any other color of CROCS....except the mary jane style!!!
HOPE THAT HELPS!!!! :thumbsup2

:lmao: The vision of white socks with black crocs cracks me up! (especially the black ones pulled up high)
You have helped immensely...I am glad to know it will be OK to wear short white socks with my purple crocs. ;)
That is what I have packed.
I like the idea of the extra support socks from Walmart, too...
Thanks everyone!

I'm a dork! I swear socks with my crocs when need be!!
I lived in Alaska for awhile, and I swear, over half the population of Anchorage wore socks with sandals. When in Rome... now I'm hooked!

Our WHOLE FAMILY LIVES in them!!!! We wear them with and without. It's all your perference. They can help with the slipping issues when they get wet, like raining and you have to walk a million miles out of the park...but if you ride Splash Mt or any other H2O ride and you get wet...they dry very quickly!
WE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! Can't do WDW WITHOUT!
