i need prayers from my solo disers

hey guys...i have been pouring over plans for my next solo trip and totally ignoring my trip with niece and nephew in 11 days. i thought "hey, been planning all year...everything is set...what can go wrong?" YEAH RIGHT! i was just told by my niece's mom that my niece has a highly contagious infection that causes a rash and fever blisters. FUN I KNOW!!! i was speechless. luckily a dermatologist was able to identify it ( we think she picked up from one of the other kids at a girl scout camp out). the usually treatment for it is painful even for adults so they couldn't do it on a 10 year old.

so........they are trying a different type of treatment and began today. she is partially quarantined and must make certain not to scratch. she has to use a special cream and shower frequently. according to the dermatologist, if it doesn't spread, the treatment they did in his office today should last and she won't be contagious come next week. from his lips to god's ears. i think that she just guaranteed herself her own bed at the resort :confused3

pray for us. i can't imagine having to tell this sweet little girl that she can't go to disney.

luckily she feels fine...the only symptom is the itching. they think they got them all and she is being a terrific patient and not touching anything else. she has had it for a week so it is a good sign that her siblings haven't gotten it so hopefully we will be okay. the doctor said that he could do one more treatment if need be and her mom replaced all her shorts with long ones that go to her knees so she won't be touching anything accidently.

unfortunately no. we are hoping for the best.

take her to the beach, and have her go in the saltwater, that should dry anything up, and proberly stop the itching too, thats the advice a pharmicist gave me when my dd had poison ivypirate:

i just spoke to my niece...what a sweet little girl. i was wondering how she was doing and her first words to me were, "hey aunt candy...only 9 days left!" i asked about her rash and she said it was getting alot better but you know kids; she may just be saying that so I will ask her grandmother who she is visiting right now to get the truth. hopefully it is better.

oh i hope so :worship: how could i not take her. i asked her if she and my nephew were ready to stay up and out all night and eat dessert before dinner (that is how i do things on vacation)? here response "can you be my mom?" my heart melted.

just heard from my aunt, my niece is good :banana: the rash is almost completely gone on her legs so the treatment worked. she only has one bump left that popped up on her wrist so she is going to get that one zapped and we will be good.............YEAH :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
