Hello everyone. I finally decide to get up and get moving. It wasnt a whole lot but enough to get me huffin and puffin-lol! I'm going to start off slow and hopefully I will be able to stick to it. My 1st trip to WDW is In Nov 08. I want to lose weight not only so i can feel good but be able to take dd(9) to the water park. I've also been told WDW can get very hot and humid. I only wear pant jeans because I'm so self conscious about my chicken legs(shaped like a drumstick) I hold most of my weight in my stomach and i would like to trim the rolls off my back too! My bone stucture is small-medium so i figure if i lose the wieght I might feel ok wearing capris(go figure it will show the park i hate my ankles) but I dont want to be dying in the humidity.
When i was 120 i still wasnt happy with my body but i"m hoping 150 I will then work on my body image issure and feel more confident. Many people have no idea I feel this way about my lower leg area below the knee.
Here is my plan. Low carb works for the best and i lose weight and feel better. My problem i'm a stress eater.
I'm going to be 36 at the end of this month
5'6
190-194 it fluxuates throughout the day
My goal 150 I'll be happy if i lose 20 pounds for my trip.
Day one- 20 min Tony lil Gazelle machine
3 mins stepping on my one step that goes down to living room
15 reps of arms (3 different types)
30 squats in am
30 sqauts in pm
k the 3 mins of stepping was harder than the 15 mins on the gazelle. Boy was I huffin and puffin.
I'm getting adjusted by my chiropractor so i need to ask about sit ups and other exercises.
I need to drink more water. Any other tips
PS. how do i get a disney weightloss ticker thingy???

I have a few questions for those of you who have had sucessful weightloss.
If i'm combining gazelle and stepping both are cardio-right? How much should i do per day?
any good exercises to build up my leg area between calf and ankle?
what are some good exercise to target midsection and sides? I'm going back to chiro on Monday so I'm gonna hold off on crunches and sit ups.
any other advice or comments please feel free to tell me. I need all the help i can get. :)

If youe ver get tired of plain water, try putting lemon or straight cranberry juice (unsweetened; you can find it at Trader Joe's). You can put as much or as little lemon but the cranberry is best 2 oz for every 8oz of water. If you put too much, I doubt you'll drink it all. This helps detox your liver, which can help speed up your weight loss.

Congratulations on making the decision to get in shape. I also started exercising about 2 weeks ago. It's a good idea to start a W.I.S.H journal, it helps keep you encouraged and accountable.

Day 2
breakfast scrambled eggs and bell peppers topped with cheese and side of bacon and glass of water
Lunch- 1/2 ceasar salad, 1/2 roadhouse bacon burger from Chilis and a few glasses of water.
Dinner- Grilled steak and corn on the cob and glass of water.
I woke up this morning and added 1 min to gazzele so i did 16 min
50 steps on each leg

I went shopping today at a store that sells size 12+ found a cute pair of jeans size 12 but for 58.00 I thought it was to much. Found a cute white button down top with a waist belt so cute normally I'd never wear something like that but it sure tempted me. I usually hate my rolls but The bigger size would hide it-lol! I just couldnt spend 38.00 the outfit would have been 96.00 plus tax way to much for me. I figure i need to keep working out, so i can find smaller stuff on sale. This store I think called Torids hardly has sales.
I was a bit bummed but not because i couldnt find anything that fit just to expensive.
QUESTION: is it better to workout first thing in the morning or in the evening??

DAY 3
Breakfast -scrambled eggs with bell peppers and cheese and 2 strips of bacon. Large glass of water
Lunch popcorn and water Bad choice at the movies- watched WALL E:rolleyes: boring
Dinner cheese burger and fries. I didnt do good today
I upped my exercise routine
20 mins on gazelle. I was planning on 30 mins but the arch on my left foot started feeling tight.
25 steps on each leg total 50

I'm going to cut up some pieces of cheese for snack tomorrow. I think tomorrow will be easier because i will be home all day.

Sat 7/12/08 Day 5
Not off to a good morning. Did some research for wdw. I've been debating the dining plan and today confirmed it. We had breakfast at a buffet today. I figured it would determine if ddp was a good choice for us. DF keep saying get the plan but today confirmed my thoughts. After we ate i asked DF if the way he felt at the moment could he walk around a huge park and get on rides. He agreed the DDP woulnt be a good idea for us. He even said we could even probablay split some meals. This means i'll save movre money and not gain as much weight-lol!
I'll be back tonight to post my exercises
Update:
I was very hungry all day. I nibbled on some slices of montery cheese and a 2 strips of bacon. I cut the bacon strips in half so it seems like i'm eating 4 pieces-lol!
For late lunch I had a salad, pieces of bacon, chopped up montery cheese and a glass of water
Wasnt really in the mood to exercise but i did.
20 of gazelle. next week i will up the time

Congratulations, you are off to a good start. It's good that you're starting with tiny steps. I like how you post what you eat and exercise, I might start doing that too.

Thanks. I figure I need to start out slow so i dont get discourage or shock my body. When i start lowering my carb intake I get headaches from tetoxing the surgurs from my body. Then i feel great-lol!

Day 7
Today was a hard day. I just feel hot and tired. I got my adjustment today and felt good but i needed relax the rest of the day for my body to relax. I did for a lil while but had errnads to run and I was just pooped. My body is also getting rid of sugars so thats why i feel run down. Hope tomorrow will be a better day.
No exercise today because i got my chiro adjusment and I need to rest the rest of the day. I totally forgot to ask Dr. about sit ups. maybe i'll wait on that since I didnt hold my adjusment from last week. I really need to learn to relax so i can hold. DF said its the way I sis when i'm on the puter and on the couch watching tv. I slouch down with my butt alomst off the chair and couch, well not that far down . I need to sit correctly and watch my posture. I carry most of my stress in my shoulders and its hard to loosen up.
Breakfast-1/2 of a 1/2 of bagel with cream cheese-lol!\
lunch-chili burger
Dinner- cardne asada (grilled flap meat- i think its called that) chopped up on a salad then topped with salsa and guacamole. DF had carne asada tacos but mine was minus the tortillas
My pants feel slightly better

QUESTION
I know soda is bad but which would be better regular sprite or diet coke???
I usually drink diet coke when i diet but the other day i had a diet coke and it made me feel so sick because it was just to sweet.
I hear some say diet soda is bad because whats in it others say its better. Would love to read your opinions. Thanks

Go for the regular soda. If possible, buy soda from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods because that is most natural soda you can get without all these preservatives and chemicals. If you do get reg. sprite, just drink less of it.

In the morning, before you eat anything, it gets your metabolism going and you are working out more towards losing the fat that you already have then what you recently ate.

Thanks for the tip. I'm feeling a lil bummed. Not sure why. Thank goodness the headaches are finally gone.
As far as exercising I'm not feeling very motivated, but with your post :goodvibes its encouraging me to workout tonight then tomorrow morning. I will do morning from now on.

Day 9
Today was a nice day. DF treated me to a haircut and color for my B-day. I usually dont ever pamper myself. I think this was great selfesteem boaster for me. I also got he day to myself. I met my friend for dinner. It was nice to catch up. Its been awhile since i've seen her. She loved my new hairsttyle. I dont think she's ever seen me with anything other than my long curly hair-lol! I felt great.
Breakfast-none
Lunch-salad
Dinner- 2 fish tacos and lots of water today.
I didnt even have much of an appetitie today. Didnt even want a late night snack:goodvibes
I didnt have time to exercise this morning so i did this evening. Before i started i looked down at my tummy and it looked a tad bit flatter- not so bloated.:cool1:

I felt really good today. My B-day is in 2 weeks and we will meet my family for dinner. I'm hoping to wear something nice to go with new do.
I will also be going to DF grandma's big 75th B-day party and i want to be able to go shopping and find something nice that fits. For her 70th big bash I was miserble that i couldnt find anything that fit. Hoping this year will be different:banana:

I noticed that you have several exercise related questions. There are two great sources:
1.) Your doctor. Anytime you make a lifestyle change (I will not use the d word) you should talk to your doctor, s/he can also give you feedback on your weight goal.
2.) A personal trainer. Even if you don't belong to a gym, you can meet with a personal trainer. Before my last CP I met with one at the Y, it only cost me 15 dollars and she gave me a workout routine that was geared toward the progress I wanted to make and the equipment I would have available while I was down there. It was money well spent.

I'm not entirely sure it is accurate about working out on an empty stomach being a good reason to workout in the morning. If I remember right, it's more about your overall daily intake. I know for myself, I cannot workout on an empty stomach. If I do I can't go as far. Other people can and swear by it. As the article says, you need to pick a time that is right for you. If you are a morning person and can do it, then it is a great way to start your day!

D D, you are doing great. Do what works for you. I like to keep things simple. If you burn more calories then you take in you WILL lose weight over time.
There is a website that lots of WISH'ers use to count calories. I don't have the link but that is a great way to do it. I just set up a simple spreadsheet to do the same thing.
I am sure someone can give us the link if you are interested in it.
Keep up the good work. I enjoy reading about your progress.

Hi dreamin_disney, I've been reading your posts and they are keeping me encouraged to keep on working on my new health plan. I like how you post your menus, I'm doing that too, I think if I see it in print knowing others are reading it, it will keep me honest. You will see lots of improvment on how you feel by the time your vacation to DW comes along. I think you will be able to enjoy it better too.

Love the Goof.-I'm so glad by post are keeping you encouraged. Post like your is what helps me stay focused:cool1: , The menus help me keep track and see if i'm staying on track or going in the wrong direction. I started out saying I was going to do low carb but sometimes its hard to be strict about it. But i do try to keep my carbs down. I also do the Rob Mekena(i think its his name -think your way thin) If i do eat high carbs I chew slowly and put my fork down each time and stop eating when i feel full. When i eat while watching tv and i lose focus and start eating , my wonderful dd(9-) will remind me to put my fork down-lol!
Breakfast- 2 scrambled egg with chopped up jalapenos and topped with shredded cheese
early dinner - we went out for dinner i had 1/4 of my lasagna and a salad and i had 2 glasses of tea with splenda
dd picked off all the cheese and pepperoni from her pizza so i ate it(that minus the sauce is low carbs-lol!)
Didnt have much of an appetite today- thats really good
I didnt drink as much water today. I need to work on that right now-lol!
Exercise

30 arm pulls (5lb weight)

BTW- at the resturant i was eating and some sauce fell on my lap(glad i had a napkins on my lap) and when i looked down i noticed my tummy roll looked smaller-yipeeeeeeeeee!:yay: I evn told dd and df-lol!:banana: AND I wear pj shorts arent as tight :cool1: :yay: :cool1: :cheer2:

Day 11
today started out good. I was in a hurry and skipped breakfast.
Huge mistake!!!
DF , dd and i went to run errands, to the mall, to the movies, wal-mart, staples, khols and jack n the box. We left at 10:00am and got home about 9:35pm. I'm pooped. I had two mini pretzel sticks for lunch. I'm a popcorn addict but i skipped the popcorn today.DD and df had nachos but i ddint. For dinner i fell off the wagon and got a bbq bacon sirlon burger:guilty:
We really did a lot of walking. For those that know we walked all the way around the Ontario Milla mall in ca. My feet are so sore.
I was going to skip exercise beacause i'm pooped and ready for bed. But guilt:eek: of the bbq bacon burger made me decide to workout.:flower3:

You live in Ontario, CA? My uncle lives over there! That mall is HUGUNGOUS! It's so big that it has its own neighborhoods!

poop dd even said it felt like her feet were going to fall off, but she cant wait to go again-lol! She loved the Hello Kitty shop there:)
I've heard some people do there exercises there. They walk laps in the mall. it would be a really great workout

Today was just a relaxing day, ok a lazy day-lol!

I cant blieve i forgot to write last night.

Day 17th
I cant believe its 2 1/2 weeks:cool1:
I'm still on vacation until wed. hopefully i can stick with my routin. I'm a stress eater so hopefully I can be strong.I notice i'm not as hungry.
didnt feel like having breakfast today.
lunch- left over meat and cheese
dinner- shrimp scampi ( on budget so used what i had) small portion of angel hair pasta since is high in carbs and larger portion of shrimp

well i'm not losing pounds but my bra feels looser and my roll looks smaller. I'll take loosing inches over pounds any day-lol!

(Fri)Day 18th
Off to a bad start. Was running late this a.m. Had to run to D.M. V . I renewed my license online on 6/23 and hadnt recieved it. I was told it was sent out 7/7 . I went to DMV to see what the deal was and to get an I.d.
The lady check the status again and said i should get it and gave me a paper extension. She said if i didnt get it by the mid of Aug to go back and get a new one no charge. The guy on the phone from dmv had told me it would be $ 22.00.
I skipped breakfast and after DMV ran errands. I started feeling light head so i stopped to get me and dd something to eat(she did have breakfast) we ate hamburgers
Aunt Flow is here visiting me so i;'m feeling drained(low iron) and yucky! I Didnt cook so df brought fastfood. I just had a kids happy meal.

I was in such an awesome zone until DF totally made me lose my focus biy was i mad:mad: He put in floresnet lights and there are four in our ceiling fan in the den and he kept turning the lights on and off and my eyes went blind and lost my focus. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did bad on my eating habbits and i need to have better control. I'm poud that i have upped my cardio and have stuck to it:cheer2:

Df and dd are gone for the day. I did a lot of cleaning. I had some grapes for breakast. I'm just feeling really crummy today. I've decide to take it easy the rest of the evening, so no exercising tonight. :sick:

I have such a migrane and my sinus are acting up. I need a chiro adjustment but cant go until nextweek. I'm trying to remember info since i'm late writing it.

I'm so tired and no energy. My head and sinus are acting up. I went to WW and bought womens 1 a Day vitamin. I hope that helps. I've taken i think two days off od exercising but tonight I will workout before i go to bed. I've been off work(vacation) for a month and a 1/2 and go back Wed.

Tues Day 22
No headache today. I go back to work today so i was running lots of errands. Got my pedicure this morning-felt so good! Paid some bills and did some shoping. I need some new tops for work. I hate shopping and only shop when i have to. DD and i stop and grab some tacos from jack in the box. Came home and took a new generic version of birthcontrol. I had to take 2 since i skipped yesterday. After that my tummy felt really upset, musta been double the hormones dose. For dinner we went out since i wasnt up to cooking. I ordered nacho supreme but i only ate a few chips. My stomach was sensitive and i really wasnt that hungry.
Being off almost 1 1/2 month I dont wanna go back to work. Wish i could stay home longer-lol! I'm hoping to get back on track with better eating choices.

Wed. Day 23
I had a really bad sinus headache and sore throat. It was my 1st day back at work and they cleaned and sprayed insect stuff and i think that why i felt horrible.
after work i had a Dr. appt so i grabbed something quick to eat. Came home and went to bed. A few hours later i woke up and my head, sinus and body still hurt.
I had Df to reflexology my my feet and that helpped a bit. He picked up McDonalds. After 20 min i got up and exercised:cool1:

By the way my new pants felt looser:cheer2: I told Dr. i'm not losing pounds but i have noticed my clothes feel better so inches are coming off. She said sound like i'm losing ifat and building muscle:yay:

Well it was my B-day and i had a free b-day burger for red robin so we had lunch there. I didnt eat anything else. Not very hungry.

Fri Day 25'
I bought a new pair of pants last night and washed them. I figured it would feel more snug after the wash but after wearing it would stretchout a bit. Well I feel the inches coming off. My pants fit snug before the wash and even more snug after. after 1/2 way through mny day i kept having to pull up my pants. Thank goodness i didnt wash he 2nd pair. those will be returned for a smaller size-lol!
Returning to work after 1 1/2 months off i just was so tired today. I came home and after eating went to bed. Woke up but just feeling drained. took my milti vitamin. Hopefully it will start kicking in over the weekend. I need more energy.
