there is a thread about hurricanes, and on it is a post on charlie and a link to a article.
The article says the day after, ak and fw were the only places still closed.
This got me to thinking/wondering. All other resort guest were told to wait in the room w/ curtains close. What is the procedure at FW? Is it the same wait in yr tent, pop up, rv, cabin, etc... and wait for the storm to pass.
Everyone's going on and on about WDW is the safest place to be, but hmmm

we were there for Floyd in 99 at the hotel that looks like new orleans. There were people from the fort in the room next to us, they evacuate the fort to the other hotels if there is room. I would assume that the non-campers at the fort would be evacuated as well.

We were at the Fort when Wilma passed through Miami in 2005. We checked in to the Fort on a Saturday night, and at 7am Sunday morning there was a knock on the camper door with a note saying the campgorund was closing at 7:00pm and that everyone had to leave. They told us to empty our tanks, fill the fresh water tanks, check out of the campground, and if we wanted to stay, we were to check in at the All Stars Sports. We would be able to remain there until the storm had passed.
Well, long story short, the parking lot at the AS looked like an RV show was going on. We stayed there until Tuesday morning after the storm passed, and were allowed to return to the Fort at noon, back to our original campsites.
I think Disney handled the situation well. As you can imagine, there were a fair share of whiners that did not like being inconvenienced. But you have those types in all situations.
So I would not worry about going to WDW during hurricane season. I think that Disney does a great job at handling lots of folks during out of the ordinary times.
