The one who didn't want to leave the Poly for a few minutes to meet all of us. See Pete, there's one Dis'er I won't ever have to worry about meeting because he's not real. I have a fake daughter at the fort and now a fake dis'er.

lol, I'm not as big into virtual meet and greets as some of you, I will be honest :P

Although, we never had a spare minute that we could have come over to the Fort anyways, although I actually had planned on trying to make it:/

Saturday we went straight from Epcot at 2 PM (way toooooo early to leave), back to the room, got ready, got to the California Grill (Contemporary) at 5:30 PM, and by the time we left at 8:30 PM or so, there were some REALLY nasty thunderstorms coming in from the north, there was tons of lightning. Didn't really think it would have been smart trying to cross the lake in those storms with Reilly....lol. Not to mention the fact that I felt like I had been drunk for the last 24 hours (Luau, Epcot Around The World, and California Grill will do that to you....lol).

Did look like you guys had a great time though!

CG was great, this is our second time eating there in the last few years, and this time was even better than the first (which was great as well). Amazing food, best waiter I've ever had, great view of the sun setting and the storm in the distance, overall I give it a perfect 5 stars.

AHEM!!! EXCUSE ME, Rog!!! But WHO were the FIRST people YOU actually stalked????

As far as meeting people from the board...it's freakin FORT WILDERNESS, FOLKS!! Do you honestly think someone is going to pay $$$ for a site, purchase all the equipment to camp with, just so they can cause you harm??? Come on!!!

I understand not wanting to meet someone at a restaurant, bar, or other unsecured venue.... but Fort Wilderness???? It's not like someone can easily follow you home.

I, for one, am damned glad I went over for the MDGG & the "dress-rehearsal" for the FoJGG. I've met the most awesome people and now have expanded my circle of friends. And yes, I now consider these people my friends.

I can only say that you're missing out on something wonderful if you're too timid to go. But that's the choice you must make.

Colson...I am gonna rag on you. When Reilly was born, you didn't seem too concerned to give your address to Jen, who made a wonderful receiving blanket for Reilly. She was at the GG's, so you would have been a little "safer" by knowing someone. I don't think Jen has stalked you or caused you any harm since you gave her your address, has she?

You aren't calling me a friend are you Debbie? Had you been at the actual 4th of July GG you might not be. Just kidding. I have also met some great people on here but that's probably ended. I don't want to be labled a stalker anymore.

I agree with you raggin on Colson. IIRC he gave the hospital name and all when his son was born. I wouldn't have given that out I don't think.

Chris, we really do like you. We must just be a bunch of overly friendly folks and we understand you are more reserved. As much as we all come on here and as much as you post I guess it was a given that you would come by to meet the crazy bunch.

This thread is certainly interesting, but strange. I'll be down in November and will meet up with anyone who's there at the time, BUT I agree with others that it's not always a good idea to do that. Somehow this board is different, with the exception of the occasional troll who is usually easily identified. I'm also planning on an October 2009 trip for the GG then.

Jen's too nice to stalk anyone, but YOU on the other hand...... Tell your stalking story and how Kimberly copied your idea!

I have professionally "theme park stalked" a time or two. You scout out some unsuspecting family that looks like they are taking a lot of family pictures, and follow them around for awhile. You try to manage to get into the background of their pictures & hope it dawns on them when they download/print their pictures that this same person is appearing in all of them. I didn't invent this idea - IIRC, I think I stole the idea from Chevy Chase on a SNL skit.

You aren't calling me a friend are you Debbie? Yes, if I have to. (LOL) I have also met some great people on here but that's probably ended. I don't want to be labled a stalker anymore.
Don't you change, Donnie!!! If you weren't the stalker that you are, I wouldn't have met you and be able to consider you "friend"!

As far you go Chris, we happen to think you're a cool guy - somewhat elusive, but cool never the less. I for one, would love to meet you sometime & kick back a beer or two! I do believe you once told me your mom is also named "Debbie", didn't you? We who bear this name are wonderfully awesome, albeit somewhat skewed, people!!

Look at it this way---if they are picking on you they are leaving some other innocent person alone..

At least they didn't print out a photo of you and plaster it all over they POLY with a note "LOST-- If found please return to the Fort Wilderness GG"

The problem would have been in getting over there. One or more of the drunks would have:

a.) fallen out of the boat and been kidnapped by the otters
b.) somehow crashed one of the monorails
c.) wrecked a golf cart
d.) all of the above.

JMHO

Colson39
07-10-2008, 10:39 AM
Well I asked for it to be locked, because I really don't appreciate being singled out like this for not coming to a gathering. Sorry that some of us aren't as public as others, but to make an entire thread about it and to keep on with the childish egging is, well, childish.

I do share things with people yes, that doesn't mean I'm now obligated to meet everyone in real life. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but I'm not going to visit this forum anymore if it means I have to put up with threads like this. I come here to talk about the Fort, and enjoy the online camraderie, not to act like I'm in middle school cliques and see who can insult the other one more sarcastically than the other.

Oh, come on ...buck up there guy ;) ...It's a little harmless ribbing. No harm intended. I don't even think they're talking about you at this point. Seems Donnie is taking most of the flack! Sounds like they had quite the gathering.

Chris, honestly man, everyone gets it at some point on here, I have seen you dish some out to in a good natured way! I completely understand not wanting to meet people, but you have to be the most "personal" poster I have ever seen on here, jeez man just look at you siggy. We have all celebrated with you about you baby, you post pictures for all of us to oooh and awww over, but then say you don't want to meet people you are not comfortable with it. I am not comfortable posting a bunch of pics of my kid on here, but would love to meet most of these knuckleheads, heck, even you ;)

Take it in stride, have fun with it. Pretend its a bear attacking you, lie still pretend you are dead, and it will go away....:lmao::lmao::lmao:
