Hi everyone
We are due to go to DLPR in October and have decided not to have a character meal as my girls are a bit young and I am not sure if they will like being so close to the characters and I know they will not eat the food.
However, I am now thinking we might book the character tea party, that way I know they will eat (no problem with cakes LOL) and it is not too expensive if they are not sure of the characters.
Will we be able to book this when we arrive at the hotel or are we better to book in advance? We are going for 4 days so will be a bit time restricted. We booked our holiday direct with Disney, if I need to book in advance do I just call the same number and they can arrange it?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

Hi, I had the same problem with my children being fussy about what they ate, but we did the character tea party last visit and all enjoyed it. They especially enjoyed the pots of yogurt.
You can phone the same booking number, give them your reference number and they will add it to your booking and take the payment with your final payment 60 days before you go.

If you can book it in advance, do so as my mate and I didn't when we went in June and there were no more spaces left when we arrived to book it!!

Book it in advance - you don't have to pay in advance, you can just reserve it.
We were the same as Fiona - couldn't get into the character tea party at all in June when we enquired at City Hall the first day of our stay.

I'm thinking of doing this too for my kids when we go at the end of Aug. They're all fussy eaters but love cake. As we're staying off site can I still book it in advance on the Disney number, or is this only if you've booked a package? I'd hate to get there and find it's booked up already.

We are doing this Aug. 23, but will add the birthday cake for our DD. I booked through the food number:
33-160-304050
They have times at 1530 and 1730. All they ask for is number in your party, what time you want, last name, and a handy number (if you have one). No prepayment, as you pay when you get to the tea. We did this two years ago, and really had fun!:cool1:

Thanks Sherette7769 for the info. Now I know the times too. I'll give them a ring to book it - good to know we can just reserve and pay later. Thks

Does anyone know if you can use half board vouchers (not half board plus) against the price of a character tea party?

Li-sa:
Not sure if you can use them at the tea or not? I do know that right now it is 13 Euro each for tea. The standard voucher has a value of 19 Euro for adult and 9 for children. If they did let you use them, maybe you wouldn't have to pay extra since the value difference?
To the board:
Has anyone used the vouchers at tea???

We've booked to do this and have paid in advance - it meant we paid in £ and not €
Ive a feeling you cant use the half board vouchers

Thank you all for your helpful advice (again!). I have phoned the booking number tonight and have booked for the 3rd day of our trip (which is also my birthday).
Really looking forward to it all now. Thanks again.
