I'm pretty sure I have read on the forums previously that you need to be careful who you book through. It seems someone had booked through AAA and had problems at the hotel. The hotel CM told them there was nothing they could do since the customer hadn't booked thru Disney.

Anyone heard of or had problems with this? :confused3

I always book things myself through WDW. I do know that if you go through a TA of any kind, WDW will not discuss the reservattion with you at all before you check in because the TA "owns" the reservation.

AAA does book thru disney,Same cancellation policies etc..It is just when you are using AAA , they technically own the ressie and any changes or requests need to go from AAA to disney, meaning you couldn't call and tweak things yourself.I have never in( 20+ trips )ever had a problem wit hAAA and i use them all the time.

Correct, if you use AAA, or any TA, they own the res and it's between them and Disney. If the guest has questions or issues, it is between the guest and whomever they booked with.

I always book directly through Disney for the same reasons mentioned from the above posters. I like being in complete control of my reservation, which isn't the case when booking through a TA since they "own" the ressie until you check in. I find it easier to call Disney direct if I need to change dates, resort, or just have a question. But many people use TA's and love them, so it's really just a matter of personal preference.
