I currently have the DDP booked for our 4 nights, i had our TA add 1 day to the reservation but it was not available to change to 5 nights package, but she was able to add 1 day without the dining plan?:confused3
Could i check in and add the dining plan for the first night? I already have the full package starting the next day? I would like to have the extra DDP credits, but if not, i guess we will pay OOP.

that's odd... i don't know... if you are able to add a night's stay (room only?) then you should be able to have the package start on that day... you might want to go online, put in the dates you want for a package, and if you are able to get it, ask the TA to make a new ressie and then cancel your old one...

thats strange, from the looks of your ticker you arent going during free dining, so if youre paying for the dining you should be able to add it. oh, unless she booked it as 2 different stays, because you cant get the dining plan if you are only going for 1 day. i would talk to her and make sure its all on the same reservation and then call disney and ask why you cant have the dining plan that day.

There are MYW packages that are for 1 night minimum.
But it sounds like your TA probably booked your one night separate, possibly as a room only. A room only the TA would not be able to add the DDP onto.
And no one can add a DDP, even for one night, at check in.
I think you need to find out more details from your TA on your one night stay.
And your TA owns the res. So they need to make the calls.

The dining plan has to be added at least 72 hours before your arrival date. Also, the whole thing with your TA not being able to add a night with the dining package doesn't sound right either.

i think the package that i booked with CAA (AAA) from what are told, have no more CAA deals left. I guess they only allott so many packages with the CAA package. So, when i called to ask her to extend it by 1 night she told me it was unavailable? :confused3 So i check on line and they had availablity but she said not for the CAA package, so she added a 1 night room only package. Anyone know if i should be able to combine this into 1 pkg and keep my dining for the full package?

Nope. not if its not available. Youll have to do a room only and then start your package the next day

Correct. All packages have their own inventory. And when it is gone, it's gone. Throughout all these posts you will read different codes. Each package code has it's own inventory and allotment of rooms.
Sometimes inventory is released back into that pool due to cancellations. But sometimes not too. (Just judging from what I have read on the Dis.)
I learned too from personal experience it is always better to book for more days, if there is any chance you may need them. Deducting days from your stay is much easier than trying to add them. And the closer to check in date, the harder it is.
A room only res is just that -- room only.

You have time so keep calling her and having her to check for cancelations that would open up your dates. Your tickets should be attached to your pkg. have you thought about what you are going to do about not having tickets for your first day. I don't understand the "1 night room only package" . You need to make sure you are not paying for tickets on 2 seperate reservations or if you have a room only you need to plan on not visiting the parks on the 1st day. I think you should talk to her supervisor or have her give you in writing what exactly you do have and what is included with each reservation. Let us know!!

the 1 night won't matter much as we plan on getting to hotel in the evening, and either go for dinner(if we started DDP) or not. We have our park tickets from Airmiles, so if we decide to go to a park, it won;'t be an issue, our package is for dining and 1 day park admission starting the next day. I guess i will keep trying as i would prefer to get the dining credits but if not we will stay and do an early night with counter service or go to DTD.

Think about this before changing what you have: since your TA could only get you "room only" for your additional night, she/he could not add DDP - and to add DDP you have to have a package, even for one night and even if you start another stay the next day. (and luv2roam is correct -you can never add DDP at check in)
If you try and change that first night from "room only" to a package to be able to add DDP, keep in mind that you will have to add another one day ticket for everyone in your party for that package, besides the one day ticket you already will have for the package you have starting the next day.... :scared:
So you have to figure if that extra ticket cost (plus the DDP cost for that night, ie. ticket @ $75.62 each + 37.99 DDP each) would really be worth it just to get dining credits for that one day :teacher:
Guess the value would depend on how many people, and how much you eat! Also, keep in mind while figuring that you can always save the one day ticket to use in the future.
JMO have your TA keep trying to modify the second res to include the first day, but if your TA is unable to due to WDW availability, you might want to leave the first res room only and pay OOP at a CS that night. :)

Agree with pp.
And since you are arriving in the evening, grab something in the food court and get to know your resort. You will also get a ton of material to review at check in. Most people I suspect are like me, and read next to none of it. :rotfl2: And I miss out on things because I don't read it, or have to hurriedly review what it is I do want.
There is even shopping, spas, boat cruises, pools, etc. Lots to do besides going into the parks. Or even eat somewhere that does not accept the DDP just for something different you may not normally try. How about making it a Cirque evening? :)
The differences are -- CRO is room only. Which is your first res. WDTC is the true packages. Meaning MYW passes, WDTC extras (such as mini golf vouchers) and DDP, and whatever other extras are included, depending on what package you purchased.
The only way to get around buying MYW passes on a package is to be a WDW AP-er and buy a WDW AP package or be a DVC member staying on points.
So, unless you are really set on that DDP meal, stay with your room only res, unless your TA is able to secure actually adding one night to your WDTC package.
If you had two 1 day MYW tickets you would not be able to combine those into one upgrade. You would be able to save one of those passes for a future stay -- as long as you did not inadvertently use it entering a park.

I also agree with the above esp. since you are checking in late you do not want the extra cost of the 1 day ticket. If you got a CAA discount on the room you can still eat out and come close to being ahead. Leave things as they are and have a wonderful time. Be sure at checkin that they know you will be checking in/out the next morning and that you do not want to change rooms. Go very, very early with a wonderfull smile on your face and make this change and you will be set. We have done this lots of times and has never taken more than a couple of minutes. Just go very early!!!
