Hi, has anyone booked a spiderman breakfast at IOA recently? I have tried to find an online boking site but only come up with a telephone no for allears and I keep getting the answermachine there. Ive just tried again now at 1010pm UK time on a Friday and presume the park will be open - however it is Independants Day so maybe they are all off partying:banana: :cheer2: :dance3:

hi we were there in May and must have booked over the phone in March sometime - we were told to ring around 2pm whilst they were open for breakfast - it sounded as though I was speaking directly to the restaurant, so I guess they only answer when they aren't too busy. :confused3
Have you been before?? The character interaction is amazing - best we've ever had anywhere (and that's including nearly 30 years worth of Disney character brekkies!!):thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

No we haven't, first time staying at Universal and all the hotels look great. We chose HRH because we staying at VWL and AKV which are both relaxing sites and HRH looks like it might give our DD an injection of something upbeat!
Any suggestions re making the most of HRH is appreciated?

As said before the Kitchen buffet breakfast is fantastic :goodvibes - it was really nice sitting on the patio in the morning, and as a really nice touch they offer you coffee 'to go' in a paper cup to wander over to the parks with!!:thumbsup2
We also really enjoyed eating at the Beach club overlooking the pool in the evenings - really relaxing. And they have a reallly nice coffee/snack/icecream shop for quick breakfasts and afternoon treats!!
The one thing we missed (our children were too small (4yr and 10mth old) to stay awake) was the pool side movies they offer some evenings - oh well something new to try next trip!!:rotfl:
The lobby staff were great and so helpful - One day I asked if they could give me a rough idea how to get to Walmart and as quick as a flash they produced typed driving instructions!! :)
The whole place is just so beautiful and the rock music is quiet enough to block out if you want - but it adds a really cool background noise!! - fabulous place!!:goodvibes :goodvibes
I don't know if you can tell but I quite like the HRH!!:lmao:

Thanks for the update re spiderman breakfast. Our DS will be 7 yrs and we are keeping it as a surprise. LAst tiem we were there he was only 5yrs but met spiderman briefly - and was completely dumbstruck so I imagine he will be blown away if he comes up to him at breakfast!

We had breakfast with spidey in May... it was really great , spiderman spent ages chatting to my DS7 abd DD5, I will say that i didn't think much to the food :sad2: and also an 18% tip was already included , so make sure you don't tip twice;) . To the OP, it took me ages to book and actually get a person to speak to... keep trying it's worth it:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that you all had a positive experience. We went for breakfast 4 years ago with 2 seven year old boys who adore spiderman. We must have been unlucky as he was really miserable and unfriendly with the kids. The meal was saved by one super hero(can't remember his name as we hadn't heard of him before) who had us in stitches laughing. The breakfast was also the worst buffet that I have ever eaten in america. We were so dissapointed as Island of Adventure is our favourite park and we really expected much better. We did the Winnie the Pooh lunch a few days before and everything about it was wonderful.

We are going back to Orlando next year and are planning on staying at QI Plaza and Polynesian. We have done the Disney breakfasts and have enjoyed them. After reading this thread I really like the idea of a Spiderman breakfast. Do you have to be staying at one of their hotels or can anyone book just like with Disney?

I'm sorry you had bad character interaction with Spidey - because for us that part was wonderful - and I agree with you that the breakfast was probably the worst buffet we've eaten in the states as well (I hope you are reading this Confisco Grille and improve it for our next visit!!:rotfl: ) - so if you had a bad character experience then I can see how you wouldn't want to try it again.
A word to everyone going - fingers crossed you'll get 'our' spidey who was amazing - but don't go with high expectations of the food and you won't then be too disappointed I hope!!:goodvibes
have a great time - we would love to be going back sooner rather than later!!!:lmao: :lmao:

We had great character interaction. My ds2 loved him, I dressed both the boys in spiderman t shirts that morning.Spiderman signed ds2 shirt with waterproof marker on the back, he has worn it loads of times and the signature is still there. He has outgrown it now! DS 4 had talked about him all the way to IOA/US but wouldnt go near him, yet talked about him all trip afterwards. He spent ages with my lo. Agree that the food is awful!!
Trying to book took patience, I phoned at 9am US time and managed to book after about 2 days. The booking office is by the hulk it was all you could hear in the background, got me really excited about up coming trip:lmao:
