So I've had a PJ but my images were thrown off the net so I decided it would be easier to start a new one with a new image hosting site. Plus, a lot has changed since my last post on there.

HOW DID WE MEET
My Aunt knew Ian's Uncle and she thought we'd make a cute couple. My Aunt emailed Ian a picture of me to Ian and then she emailed me a picture of Ian. I opened that email and it was like love at first sight. First thing I said to myself was "Guys like him don't date girls like me." Anyway, my Aunt gave him my number and he called me a few nights afterwards. We talked for hours on the phone here and there for a few weeks and we decided it was time to meet each other. He lived in New Jersey and I lived in Connecticut at the time. We met 3 weekends after we first started talking and it was magical. He was a great guy. Three months later he asked me to move in with him - so I did and it's been great since. Every day I fall more and more in love with him.

HOW HE PROPOSED
Lets start from the top. He asked my Dad for permission and then went ring shopping with him. We went home back to New Jersey and 2 weeks later he took me out to a seafood restaurant called "Off the Hook" on Sandy Hook Beach on the first sunny day of the year (April 9th 2008). Then he took me up to the top of a nearby mountain overlooking Sandy Hook Beach and you could even see NYC! He told me he loved me and wanted me to be a big part of his life forever and gave me a kiss. By the time I opened my eyes from the kiss he had the ring at my eye level and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, cried, hugged him, and kissed him. *Swoons*

MY WEDDING GOWN
This is "the one". - Picture taken down incase the fiance comes across this. ;) Yes babe, I know your dying to find out.

MY BRIDESMAID DRESSES
I can't quite decide yet. But I deffinately would like them in red or yellow. If I decide to have them wear the same colors the difference between the Maid Of Honor is going to wear a tiara to seperate her from the bridesmaids.

RECEPTION - California Grill lunch reception (Napa Room)

GUESTBOOK
For the guestbook I'm just getting one of those frames that you can sign. I wanted something that I can display - that'd be perfect!

CAKE

I got this off eBay for like $45 but I may put it back up and get something else. It's cute but I'm not completely satisfied with it.

PLACE CARDS

CENTER PIECES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/freesia.jpg
This isn't set in stone yet but this is what I'm leaning towards. Instead of the limes I'd like to layer lemons and apples and use the same flowers from my bouquet on the center pieces.

TIARA
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/tiara.jpg
Cute and simple. I have a long face so I can't pull off any of the elaborate tall ones.

So I got a quote from a FL florist and for the flowers and centerpieces I want it's going to be close to $1200. :scared1: I might just change my choice of flowers to make it cheaper or do it myself. DF and I deffinately don't want to spend that much on flowers.

SHOES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/shoes.jpg
This (http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com/product/016590.shtml) is the link to get them in case any of you are interested. They're only $38.99!

Oh and more exciting news! I made an appointment on September 27th at 9AM to look at the places I'm interested in for the wedding. Yay! So excited!!

Thank you! Yeah if I decide to go with the David's Bridal dress for the girls they'll be in yellow. I like their yellow. If I decide to go with the Alfred Angelo dress they'll be in red. Their yellow sucks.

MEMORIAL POEM
So I decided I wanted to a memorial set-up for my deceased family members. Here's the poem I made up.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/memorial_poem.png
I went to the Christmas tree shop and got a 4-slot frame to put pictures of them in, 5x7 frame for the memorial poem, 2 red tapered candles, and 2 candle holders. I want to lay a red rose down too.

WEDDING PAVILION DECOR
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/ceremonydecor.jpg
I like the swagging, the pew bows, flower petals, and aisle runner. The Wedding Pavilion is so pretty already that it doesn't need much.

HAIR AND MAKE-UP
I know I have plenty of time for hair and make-up but I think I found it. I like her hair and make-up. I want that make-up look - natural. If I decide to go with it down, I like this.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/hair1.jpg

If I decide to go with it up, I like this. Flower and everything. Execpt a matching flower from my bouquet.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/hair2.jpg

FLORAL
So I got a spreadsheet from the FL florist I'd like to use and she has a list of cheap flowers she offers. I think I'll go with gerbera daisies. I'd also like asters, daisies, spider mums, football mums, and hypericum berries. I want the colors to be red, white, yellow, and orange. Hand-tied bouquets too of course.

CENTER PIECES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cp1.jpg
I'm thinking about surrounding it with a candy bar too. Like 3 or 4 small-medium sized vases full of different candies in it - one for each vase with a scoop in it. Each guest can fill up a small organza bag with their candy of choice for favors. I'd have 5 votives lit up as well as red flower pretals scattered on the table.

TABLE SETTING
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/setting1.jpg
I love this look!

Oh! I got 48 bubble wands at The Christmas Tree Shop for $2.99! They wanted $19.99 for the same thing at Michaels. I was stoked about that! That was the highlight of my weekend!! The ribbon to tie on the top is going to cost more than the bubble wands.

So I've decided what I'm doing for flowers. I got a proposal today and it's $725 for everything including delivery. I'm using gerbera daisies, spider mums, football mums, and hypericum berries to accent.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/bouquet1.jpg
Imagine this minus the roses and greenery and add spider mums, football mums, and hypericum berries. My floral is going to be red, white, and yellow. I'm also going to have crystals through out the bouquets. I hope it looks good in the end as good as it does in my head. :lmao:

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/charms.jpg
My bouquet is going to have 4 photo charms hanging from it. One for each deceased family memer of mine. :sad1: She was going to charge me $20/each charm but she cut me a deal to free!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/corsage1.jpg
This is the corsage I like but in red, white, and yellow. Not so sure about the ribbon. Deffinately wrist corsages too. I despise pin-on corsages.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/boys.jpg
DF wants this boutenniere in red and a gerbera daisy... curly q and all. ;)

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cp1.jpg
These are our centerpieces. $35/each! :) They're also going to be our altar decor. Fresh candles will be put in for the reception. Not sure what flower petals she's going to use for them yet. I'll also have red rose petals sprinkled on the tables with 4 votive candles lit.

Also, not included in the proposal but I'll be sprinkling the aisle with red rose petals. I can get that off a website for $150.

Is this expensive for floral? I'm ordering:
1 bridal bouquet - $100
1 maid of honor bouquet - $55.00
1 bridesmaid bouquet - $45.00
1 grooms boutonnière – $8.00
1 best man boutonnière - $7.00
1 groomsman boutonnière - $7.00
2 father boutonnières 2 @ $7.00 = $14.00
2 grandfathers boutonnières 2 @ $7.00 = $14.00
2 mothers corsages 2 @ $15.00 = $30.00
2 grandmothers corsages 2 @ $15.00 = $30.00
3 other corsages 3 @ $15.00 = $45.00
1 throw away bouquet $25.00
centerpieces 4 @ $35.00 = $140.00
1 memorial rose = $5.00
plus tax, delivery, set-up, and take down fees.

JEWELRY
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/jewelry1.jpg
Just bought this bad boy off eBay for $24.90. I saw it in a catalog for $79.99. I'm pretty much in love with it.

So I went to Michaels and got a vase for $2, a 2lb pack of red stones for $1, a large floating candle for $1.99, and a round mirror at AC Moore for $6.99, and then some gerbera daisies and yellow rose petals at Shop Rite for $10.00. I played around a bit and this what I came up with:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cp3.jpg
Very simple. I love the apples. No one else likes them but me but owell.

Another is the same thing but I layered yellow rose petals, a red gerbera daisy, then the floating candle.

Which one do you guys like? I'm just experimenting 'cause I'm so dang indecisive.

Arg! So I'm debating on the gerbera daisies. I've heard that they're for more informal weddings (no offense to who ever is using them). Now I've gotten myself all paranoid. I found new pics and I need your opinions. :surfweb:

I have more than these 2 picked out but I like these styles.

PEWS
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/ceremonydecor.jpg
There will only be 2 on each side for immediate family. The pews will be swagged.

UNITY CANDLE
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/unity.jpg
This the the only other floral besides the pew floral, aisle runner, and rose petals.

BOUQUET
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/bouquet2.jpg
This will be it - hand-tied of course.

All floral will be lillies and roses in 1/2 greenery and 1/2 flowers to cut down costs. I'm just waiting of some proposals.

Opinions please?

So here it is. It's official: 10:00-10:30 AM Wedding Pavilion ceremony, 11:00-4:00 California Grill (Napa Room) reception, and 8:30 PM UK Lower dessert party. Stacey said she'll start up the contract while DF starts the room block.

As I was there I notice a lot of weddings going on. While I was talking to Randy Champan in the Grand Floridian I saw a bridal party walking through (it looked like an Escape wedding), while I was doing the sea racers there was a wedding going on at the Wedding Pavilion, and while I was scoping out the fireworks at the UK Lower, there was a dessert party. I was a bit of a stalker. I apologize if it just so happen to be any of your weddings. :lmao:

Here's a few pictures:

I know what you mean about the pins and needles feeling. I had to work 8:30-5:30 that day I was waiting for that phone call. I just wanted to stay home and wait by the phone all day. I've been dealing with Stacey 'cause I don't have a wedding a planner yet but she said early ceremonies at the WP, lunch CG receptions aren't very popular so there's a good chance you'll get your desired date. I hope that makes you feel better! :woohoo:

Yeah, there's no wedding for the Sanoma Room either so we'll have the top floor to ourselves. They told me we can go out to the resturaunt and take pics with the veiw as our backdrop. :woohoo: How pretty would that be?!

Ok so here's the pics I've promised. I know I'm far ahead but I want to be ahead so in the last few months I can just relax and look forward to being a bride. I still need to plan our small "get together" at home on our return to Jersey as husband and wife. Anyway, onto the pics:

UNITY CANDLE
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/unitycandle.jpg
I love it! I got it off eBay for $30!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/unitystand.png
I wanted a simple candle holder so it wont take away from the candles itself. This'll do the job.

BRIDE APPEARANCE
I got my dress off eBay for $70 but I wont be adding the pictures to my PJ 'cause DF knows about this PJ and I'm affraid he's waiting for pics - sorry babe! :rotfl: If you'd like to see a pic just PM me and I'll send you a pic. You just only have to be registered for the forums before I did so I know you're not my DF.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/undergarment.jpg
This has a corset back so if I didn't lose the weight I planned my girls can cinch me in.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/veil1.jpg
It's a white plain fingertip veil. It'll only be in for pictures. Right after pics I'll be ripping that baby out. I hate veils.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/clutch.jpg
I'll be carrying a clutch with me. I heard that Ana from Beaute Speciale gives touch up kits so I'll need a home for those. Plus when I get nervous I tend to get headaches so I'm going to have to keep Tylenol on me.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/shoes1.jpg
I got these off eBay for $12.95! They're so comfy!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/jewelry.jpg
I'll be wearing the one on the left as my "something blue" and I got the girls the clear one.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/crinny.jpg
A super-full crinny. Again... eBay for $19.95!!

THE GIRLS GIFTS
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/totes.jpg
I got 3 of these in black. One for me, one for my MOH, and one for my BM. I'm going to have my wedding planning book in it as well with a bride survival kit and a few other things. My girls bags will be filled with survival kits, jewelry, a towel wrap embroidered with their names, etc.

Next up - final floral ideas!!

DISNEY*lover
10-26-2008, 11:32 AM
I found a seller on eBay who does custom orders for floral. She specializes in "real touch" flowers. They look and feel real but they're silk. It's the best grade of silk out there. I'll be using roses and stephanotis. Here's a list of what I'll be ordering:

- Bouquet (1) $105
- Bouquet Toss Bouquet (1) $25
- Maid of Honor Bouquet (1) $55
- Brides Maid Bouquet (1) 45
- Grooms Boutonniere (1) $12.50
- Best Man Boutonniere (1) $9.50
- Groomsman Boutonniere (1) $7.50
- Fathers Boutonniere (2) $19
- Grandfathers Boutonniere (2) $11
- Mothers Corsages (2) $44
- Grandmothers Corsages (2) $32
- Centerpieces (4) $100
- Memorial Red Long Stemmed Roses (4) $15
- Pew Floral Decor (2) $30
- Rose Hair Flower (1) $15

On to the pics of my ideas:
CEREMONY DECOR
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/ceremonydecor.jpg
I want the pews swaged so I want floral in this style with red roses instead of purple ones. I'll have 1 one each side for immediate family.

I'll have the pew decor and an aisle runner.

BOUQUETS
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/untitled6.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/Image2.jpg
I like the bouquet on the top just the way it is. I’d just like it to be hand-tied like the one on the bottom only with a white handle and red ribbons instead of pink ones. I really love the pearl at each cross of the handle. I’d like:

- 1 Bride’s bouquet can be 2 dozen red roses and some random white stephanotis
- 1 MOH bouquet can be 1 dozen white roses and some random white stephanotis
- 1 BM bouquet can be 6 white roses and some random white stephanotis
- 1 Toss bouquet can be just a rose wand with 3 red roses

The attendant’s bouquets can be white handles with white ribbons in the same manner as the picture above on the right.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/crystals.jpg
I bought 106 clear bicone crystals for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages that I bought off eBay for cheap that I’m hoping to use up too.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/charms.jpg
I also have 4 deceased family members that I’d like to put in charms and get them hung from my bouquet handle like above so they’ll “be with me” on my wedding day.

BOUTONNIERES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/2143494256_70e2cf65bb.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/boys.jpg
So I love the rose boutonniere on the top. The fact that it is 2 open ones and 3 rose buds in front. Of course I’d like the roses to be red and not orange. My fiancé is in love with the style of boutonniere on the bottom (the way it’s “tied” - curly-q and all) - Thanks Carrie. I’d like:

- 1 Grooms boutonniere can be with 2 open red roses with 3 red rosebuds
- 1 BM boutonniere can be with 1 open red rose with 3 red rosebuds
- 1 GM boutonniere can be with 1 open red rose with 1 rosebud
- 2 Fathers boutonnieres can be with 1 open white rose with 3 rosebuds
- 2 Grandfathers boutonnieres can be with 1 open white rose

The attendant’s boutonnieres can be “tied” in the same manner as the picture above on the bottom. I’d like it a crystal on each boutonniere.

CORSAGES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/wrist20corsage.jpg
I like the corsage in the picture above. I’m not so sure about the huge green leaves sticking out the sides though – maybe smaller green ones? I’d like the corsages to be made with white roses and make them wrist ones. I hate the pin-on ones. I’d like:

- 2 Mothers wrist corsages can be with 1 white open rose and 3 white rosebuds
- 2 Grandmothers wrist corsages can be with 1 white open rose

I’d like a crystal on each corsage.

CENTERPIECES
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/julepcenterpiece1_lrg.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/P5093205.jpg
I love both of these centerpieces although we can’t make up our minds. If I decide to go with the one on the top I’d like a couple red and white roses with random stephanotis and nice filler. I’d like to use the “flowers on sticks” too if possible. I don’t know what they’re called.

If I decide to go with the one on the bottom I’d like 3 white and 3 red roses with random stephanotis. I want it short enough so that my guests wouldn’t have to look around the centerpiece to talk to each other.

Which one do you like best?

HAIR FLORAL
I’d like 1 red medium-sized open rose and 3 small red rosebuds on a hair comb.

Total = $525.50

What do you think?

Unity candle update... I got it in the mail and I'm not happy with it at all. It looks cheap. In the listing it was described that Mickey and Minnie were carved but it's not. It's actually a plastic toy that was hot glued into place. So disappointing and I'll be relisting it on eBay.

But next time I go to make a payment on it, I'll be sure to take a picture of it with my e-ring to show you ladies!! The damn this is $1k but totally worth it. I mean, I love mushrooms and I know CG food is fabulous, but my family is picky and I am so worried about the food at Cali Grill! Have you talked to your planner about modifying the menus at all? Esp. without a tasting session, I don't want to be eating food for the "first" time at my own wedding! Let me know how the menu choices are working out for you!

Esp. without a tasting session, I don't want to be eating food for the "first" time at my own wedding! Let me know how the menu choices are working out for you!

I am supposed to hear from my planner next week and I will let you know!

Congrats on the Save the Date's going out!! That must be SO exciting!!
So, any other updates, my wedding twin?

Wow! You're hearing from your wedding planner next week already?! That's quick! It seemed like forever to hear from mine.

So I've been gathering pics for my planning session and filling out that questionaire they send you with your toolkit. Here's the pics I've come up with:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/aisle_decor.jpg
I'd like an aisle runner with red rose petals on the sides with the same coverage. I'm going to DIY the monogram on the aisle runner and have pew floral on the first pew on both sides. Possibly swagging?

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/bridal_party_dress_front.jpg
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/bridal_party_dress_back.jpg
The girls' dress in the red color. Front and back shots. I also have a swatch for Michelle to take even though I'm doing my own floral.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/mens_attire.jpg
The boys will be wearing a black tux with this red vest and tie. We're going to MWH. DF refuses to wear yellow, white or black. So it looks like they're all wearing red. :confused3

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/table_linens.jpg
Depending on the cost and budget I might get a sheer red overlay swagged at 3 points with a handful of red rose petals and votives.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake_table_decor.jpg
I wanted it decorated in the same manor as above just with my bouquet and the girls' bouquets.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/candy_bar.jpg
I'm really having issues with favors. I want something they all with use and it's hard to pick something for both dudes and gals. So I went with a candy bar. I hope it's not too expensive. I want all red, yellow, black, and white candy. The table decored in the same manor... swagged, red rose petals, votives, and supplied with half pint containers for the guests to help themselves.

I made cry packs and table numbers a while ago. I should probably take pics and post them, eh?

How's your planning going Lulu?

Wedding plans have been put on hold. Mom had an aneurysm in her brain on Friday afternoon and was airlifted to the best hospital in the state. She had brain surgery to stop the bleeding and she'll be in critical condition in ICU for at least 3 weeks. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. God knows she needs it and so does my family.

I may even push back the wedding another year. We'll see.

As of now I'm going to continue with the planning but if something happens I will be pushing it back.

I rescheduled the planning session to March 18th @ 1 (my birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!) I just wanted to make sure Mom will be in good condition before I fly so far away from home, you know?

Alright so I know I have been a bad Diser but I haven't had much time to update lately. I've been busy with Mom, Dad, wedding planning, work, planning the SIL's baby shower, etc. But I'm making it a point to update! I've been saving lots and lots of pictures on my computer for this planning session so I'll be uploading them according to the right "areas".

I'll do floral first. I found a listing on eBay for a complete silk floral package including:
-Bouquet (1)
-Bouquet Toss Bouquet (1)
-Maid of Honor Bouquet (1)
-Brides Maid Bouquet (1)
-Mothers Corsages (2) wrist ones
-Grandmothers Corsages (2) wrist ones
-Grooms Boutonniere (1)
-Best Man Boutonniere (1)
-Groomsman Boutonniere (1)
-Fathers Boutonniere (2)
-Grandfathers Boutonniere (2)
-Centerpieces (4)
-Altar/Head Table Piece (1)
-Pew Floral Decor (12)
All for $350.00 including shipping and handling! Onto the pictures.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/bride_bouquet.jpg
This is the Bride's bouquet but I'm getting a round one, not a cascade. The handle will be hand tied in white ribbon.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/corsage.jpg
These are the corsages for the Mothers and Gradmothers but I want wrist ones.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/detail.jpg
This is a close-up of the detail.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/groom_bout.jpg
This is the Groom's boutonniere.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/groomsmen_father_bout.jpg
Groomsmen and Father boutonniere.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/red_call_round_bouquet.jpg
This is the Matron of Honor and Bridemaid bouquets. Obviously the Matron of Honor's bouquet will be bigger that the Bridemaid bouquet and both will be hand tied in red ribbon.

Now for the cakes I like:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake1.jpg
I like this but I'd get 2 tier. I'd get the bottom 2 tiers but in red, black, and white with yellow accents.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake2.jpg
DF wants this cake but I want the mad hatter style. We'll see.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake3.jpg
I know a fellow DisBride had this cake and I saved it because it's so darn gorgeous. It's so simple yet so elegant and pretty. It's my 2nd choice.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake4.jpg

Now DF will wear a red vest and the Fathers will wear white. I've picked out 2 styles and DF can choose between the two.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/tiara.jpg

No flower girl or ring bearer. :sad1:

Up next... linen/floral(?) ideas! :surfweb:

DISNEY*lover
02-14-2009, 10:15 PM
Now for the linens and small real floral ideas! All the real floral I'll have is a very light coverage of red and yellow rose petals on the aisle and tables. On to the pictures.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/aisle_decor.jpg
I’m getting an aisle runner and adding a monogram to it. I’d like a very light amount of red and yellow rose petals on each side. I’m getting 12 pew floral bows for the pews and I’d like the pews swagged. I’d like the aisle runner to start at the base of the stairs.

Depending on pricing I'll go with table runners creating a cross at the center where my centerpiece will stand or sheer overlays swagged.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/table_runners.jpg
Table runners will be in red.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/linens.jpg
I love this look! But I'm affraid in order to get that whole look I'll need chair covers as well. Is this too fancy for a lunch reception? :confused3

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/napkin_folds.jpg
I may get yellow napkins and get them folded in that mannor and put the menus in there and have them over the plates. Are menus even necessary for a buffet?!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake_table_decor2.jpg
Again, from a fellow DisBride! Major props to you! I love the way it's decorated. The bouquets, the votives, the rose petals. I want mine exactly like this!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/sweetheart_table_decor.jpg
I will be getting the sweetheart table on a riser. I love this except mine will have a sweetheart table floral piece as well as votives and rose petals.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/candy_bar.jpg
I'm getting a candy buffet for favors. I love this look!

NOTE: I want all tables decorated with the same linens, votives, and very light amount of red and yellow rose petals.

And so far I have 6 pages of questions for my WP.

Up next... hair and make-up ideas! :surfweb:

So the PS is on my birthday, March 18th at 1 PM and I have a hair and make-up trial with Beaute Speciale on DF's birthday, March 19th at 1 PM. I can't decide if I want half up or and up do but I've found tons of pictures for hair. But make-up? I'm just not quite sure. I'm not really a make-up person and my face doesn't hold make-up too well. :confused3

Hair:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/13.jpg
Love the part, the side sweep bangs, and the curls. I'd have the veil tucked in the back where it's pulled back. I'm not a fan of the veils on top of Bride's heads.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/style26_L.jpg
It's different. I love it!

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/ASC_6201.jpg
I like the way it's pulled back.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/sorbet.jpg
Another fellow DisBride. I love the part and the fact that her hair isn't "glued" to her head.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/hair.jpg
So neatly pulled back. The part looks kind of interesting too. I'd have the veil at the top of the up do.

Make-Up:

WOW Gail!!!! Awesome updates!!! Love the flowers.

I vote for the mad hatter cake. I would say go with Almond cake with amaretto filling, my fave!!!!!!!

I like the first vest/bowtie combo.

You're linen ideas are gorgeous!! I don't think the 2nd option is too formal for lunch. I think it really depends on what look you are going for!

Oh, and I just saw the part about chair covers. I am not too keen on the extra costs either. I was thinking of just doing the sheer tie but leaving the chairs uncovered. So, that might be an option too. :)

I know I put a lot up. I've been planning still just not updating. Shame, shame, shame I know!

I am doing a topper. I have the Lenox Mickey and Minnie topper.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/cake_topper.jpg
But depending on the cake I may get the chocolate castle and decorate the table with the Lenox topper. You know? Michelle told me I have to narrow it down to 3 flavors of cake and 3 flavors of fillings but they all sound so good! It's almost impossible to pick.

I am doing a DJ and a dance floor. I'm not much of a dancer and neither is DF but our guests love to dance so it's almost a must!

They do risers for the sweetheart table but I'm not sure if it's free or extra. I plan on finding out though on my PS.

I haven't found out about the candy buffet yet. I know they do it and will set it up but I'm not sure of the cost yet. I have the candies picked out and everything so far so we'll see what she says. If it's too expensive I'll put little mints in a box wrapped with ribbon or something.

I will most deffiantely write a TR about my PS trip though so you'll get all your little info. I know us CG Brides have to share all we can find out. There's not too many out there. :cool2:

Thanks for coming over to my PJ and reading. Yeah, I tried taking some good pictures for myself and fellow DisBrides because I couldn't find any decent ones online.

I love that necklace too but I'm putting it back on eBay. It's gold plated and I'm totally not a gold plated girl at all. I'm just going to wear the basic Mickey head necklace in blue as my something blue.

Oh god, the sea racer is so much run. The only advice I can give to you is put on some sun screen before you go out on them. I got really burnt while riding them for that short amount of time. But it is fun racing around on the water, going in circles, stalking the WP, etc. I highly recommend it.

I will most deffinately PM a pic of my dress. It's on it way after I type a reply. Let me know if you like it or not, ok?

Yeah, I do basic graphic design so it was easy to make it myself. I really do love it. And it was so simple! It only took me like 5 minutes.

The BM dress is Alfred Angelo and I'm getting it in cherry. It's beautiful. I love the simplicity and the sweep train.

The aisle runner I planned on getting a AC Moore or Michaels with a 40% off coupon and putting out monogram on it. It'll be no more that $15.00.

I can tell you took notes. You're too funny. I'm glad you liked everything though! I hope you continue to follow up with my plans. ;)

Yeah it flies by. I'll be engaged for a year on April 9th and it only feels like I've been engaged for a few months. It's kind of overwhelming because it goes by so fast and you feel like there's so much that needs to be done.

I just found your PJ and I'm hooked! Everything looks great! I'm glad to hear your mom is alright!

I love your Bridesmaid dresses. Oh, I'm having a candy buffet also! I'm doing pastel colors for mine though, so I plan on buying all my candy when it goes on sale after Easter! =)

Like I said, I'm hooked and will follow along the rest of the way. Good luck with the rest of your planning!

So I made these tissue packs months ago while watching TV. The saying says "If weddings always make you cry, here is something to dry your eye." It took me probably about 1 hour to make 40 of them.

Black/yellow/red/white card stock sampler on sale at Michaels - $2.00
Tissues - $1.00
Total = $3.00

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/table_numbers.jpg
So I just couldn't bring myself to spend $10.00 on 50 horrible plain looking round table numbers when I only needed 4. It took me probably about 30 minutes to make them.

I wanted the table numbers to represent what we think would be the "ingredients" to a good marriage. So we came up with:
- Table 1 Love
- Table 2 Respect
- Table 3 Devotion
- Table 4 Honesty

Left over black and yellow card stock - Free
Mickey head punch $1.00 off eBay
Total = $1.00

What do you think?

We went to book our resort and EVERYTHING was booked except the Contemporary, which was $240/night with his military discount. Yay!

So I've been debating on serving signature drinks or not. I'm having the Beer and Wine package w/ Call Brands. So I've been looking for alcoholic beverages with alcohol that are already in the bar and I've found a few recipes.

Blushing Bride
2.0 oz Lemon Lime Soda
2.0 oz Cranberry juice
3.0 oz Orange juice
1.0 oz Skyy Vodka
Build vodka, soda, orange juice. Add cranberry juice to the top so it flows down the drink. Garnish with a cherry.

Lemon Drop Martini
1 1/2 oz Absolut® Citron vodka
1 tsp sugar
1/4 lemon
Slice the 1/4 lemon into two separate wedges. Place in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Pour the Absolut Citron into the shaker, and add one teaspoon of sugar. Shake vigorously. Strain into a sugar-rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist, and serve.

I'm still looking for more. I just wanted to post these and share. I've emailed Michelle and she said we can taste them at the PS so I'll let you know how that goes.

Day 1 : Departure, arriving, and first day there.

So our flight was with jetBlue at 7:00AM so we needed to wake up at 4:00AM for showers, pack last minute things, and eat breakfast. We left the house at 5:00AM and everything was a breeze from going to Newark, NJ to arriving in Orlando except for our bag tags. Now usually when we book a trip with Disney we get a package in the mail with the magical exress bag tags, vouchers, etc. We didn't get that so we had to print our bag tags on a reciept type paper and we had to carry it with us on our flight.

So we go to the Magical Express area of the Orlando Airport and realize that our bag tag number kind of rubbed off and it was unreadable. So the gentleman that helped us at the desk told us that it may or may not be an issue. We describe our luggage to him (which was only one bag) and put it in his system. So he tells us to proceed to the Contemporary line for the Magical Express bus. We realize that the area was PACKED with high school, college, and cheerleading kids... all in the value resorts. They were all yelling and being obnoxious. So our bus arrive and we hop on. There were only handful of us on that bus.

So we arrive to the Contemporary and we proceed to check in. Now, when we booked our resort over the phone they told us all that was available were the side wings. The gentleman that helped us asked us if there was a special occasion and we told him it was our birthday and planning session trip. SUPRISE! We got a free upgrade to the main building on the 9th floor with a view of Magic Kingdom!

Day 1 : Part 2

So after we check-in we make phone calls about our free upgrade and rub it in as best we can because we're so excited. We took pictures on our cell phones and sent it to our family and friends. They were all so excited for us.

After that we decide to hit the parks. We decided on Magic Kingdom and get a bite to eat for lunch. So we ride the monorail and we noticed the parking lot was PACKED so we knew that wasn't a good sign. We get our tickets and get in the parks. It was insane. Main street was so packed you couldn't move, the typical wait for the rides were 90-120 minute wait, and all the resturaunts and cafes were booked and packed. The lines for the cafes were out the doors.

So we decided to go to Hollywood Studios which wasn't as packed but still pretty busy. We ate at a cafe and went on Star Tours and walked around. We wanted to hit up Rockin' Rollercoaster and the Tower of Terror but the wait was 90 minutes for both.

We were expecting company that night. Jimmy (Ian's cousin), Aunt Kathy (Ian's aunt who will perform the ceremony), Robyn (Ian's Sister), Dave (Ian's BIL aka Robyn's DH), and Caden (our nephew). So we headed back to the Contemporary and they met us there. We all decided we wanted dinner and went to T-Rex. The wait was only an hour but we stayed in the shop. It was really neat! Just like Rain Forrest Cafe but dinos instead. I got the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with waffle fries. Yummy! Sorry, no food porn. I didn't even think about it.

T-Rex! It was awesome with amazing food!

By the time we were done eating it was about 10:30PM and decided it would be best if we headed back to the Contemporary and get some rest. We knew it would be a long day the next day.

Up next... how did the planning session go?

Day 2 : Planning Session Day Part 1

So we all sleep in until about 11:00AM because the nephew decided to scream his head off all night and we didn't sleep at all. We ate at the cafe in our resort and me, Ian, Robyn, and Aunt Kathy took the monorail. We got off at the Grand Floridian and walked to Franks, which took only about 5 minutes. Dave and Jimmy took their car to the Wedding Pavilion because they wanted to go back home from there. So here's some pictures we took on our walk over there.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/contemp13.jpg
Look at that pout! I love that boy!

So now that we're all together we decided to head in so we get seated to a room off to the side and wait for Michelle to arrive. She arrives and offers us drinks. Now that we're seated we discuss everything. By everything I mean our menus, bar package, songs, transportation, guest accomodations, cake, etc. Then I asked her my 7 pages of questions followed by cake tasting. Here's some pictures.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w287/FASHION_fool/Wedding%20Planning/contemp19.jpg
With a lit candle and sang happy birthday to me. How sweet!

So for our cake we decided on a 2 tier mad hatter cake. First layer is marble with baileys filling and seconds layer is almond cake with ameretto filling. Yummy!

Then we "took a break" until our florist, Elizabeth, shows up. So we decided to show Jimmy, Dave, and Robyn the Wedding Pavilion because they haven't seen it yet. So we took some more pictures.

So we came back after 5 minutes or so and Elizabeth was waiting for us. It was very quick speaking with her because I only needed petals and linens. I decided on half bubbles and half petals for the exit. I also put table runners on the standard white linens and standard linens with the red sheer overlay swaged.

Day 2 : PS Day Part 2

So after the PS, we said goodbye to Jimmy and Dave and we headed back to our room with Aunt Kathy, Robyn and Caden. I took a cat nap because my Anemia got the best of me. After that we went to Downtown Disney for more shopping because Aunt Kathy and Robyn didn't want to spend money on a park ticket for half a day. So we did some shopping. I bought a candy apple so I could eat it while watching Wishes on the balcony at our room. So we convinced them that they should eat dinner with us before they hit the road. Every where was over an hour wait to eat so we headed back to the Contemporary and tried Chef Mickeys but they were booked so we ate at the Cafe, said our goodbyes and headed our seperate ways.

So we headed back up to our room and I get comfy on the balcony and started eating my delicious candy apple. Before I know it I'm done eating it and still no fireworks. I checked the time and it was now 10:00. I'm thinking to myself "Crap! I bet we missed it." So I check the little schedule they give you in your welcome folder and sure enough. Fireworks were at 8:00. I was not a happy camper at that point. So I shower and pass out.

Up next... Did I miss my hair and make-up trial?

We got our pocketfold invite supplies! Yay! I just have to go get some white card stock and glue dots and I'm ready to start making them!! I'm so excited. Invites only cost me about $60!

I don't know how I just found your PJ, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing everything. We've got the same locations in January. It'll be great to read along and steal...I mean borrow... ideas from you!

Everything looks great so far.

P.S. I thought my $89 dress was the steal of the century - I bow to the master :worship:

No problem. I'm glad to help anyone. I like posting my BEO because I know before I got mine I was always looking at other bride's BEOs looking for an idea on how much my wedding will cost.

I ask that you please do read my PJ and give comments and critisism. Enjoy everything and do feel free to steal ideas. God knows I have. That's how I got 90% of my ideas.

So while DF has been playing his COD:WAW I've been a busy bee today. I worked on an invite mock-up and I'm not to sure if I'm satisfied. I'm going to try and make another style tomorrow. I also made my unity candle today! Yay! On to the pictures...

All your ideas are gorgeous! I love your invitations and table names.

We had Michelle, too, so you are in good hands!!!

I don't mean to throw a kink in your BEO, but we saved a TON of money by doing BOC. We also had a 10:00am ceremony with a lunch reception. People really just don't drink that much. Plus it all goes by so quickly.

We changed ours from Package to BOC, so they charged us one of each drink type (beer, wine, premium wine, etc.) for each guest, and it was cheaper. Then, we got $2500 back from DFTW after the wedding because of the lack of drinking that went on. We had about 62 adults. It was still a full open bar, but you're charged by the drink. DFTW advises against this, but it worked out really well for us! I've heard the same thing from more than one bride, too.

Just a thought...

I couldn't decide between the package and BOC but Michelle talked me out of it during the planning session. I'm still torn between the two. I mean it's noon. How many people are really drinking at that time of day?! All my guests are drinkers either so I'd be wasting $36/person too. :confused3

Yeah, the invites weren't too hard. It's just time consuming getting the wording just right on the inserts, printing, trimming them down to size, and getting them together. It's about 4 minutes per invite.

Gail!! I am so happy to see this! Everything looks gorgeous and your BEO is great! I am so impressed!!! What are you planning on cutting?

Did you decide on a menu?!

Well, I cut the confetti cannons, a few items off the dessert party menu and that's about it. I may add sparkling cider for the toast at the reception and at the end of the dessert party.

Here's my menu for the reception: Central Valley Lunch Buffet
Market-inspired seasonal soup
Frisee and field green salad with toasted walnuts, apples, blue cheese, and pomegranate vinaigrette
Soft goat cheese polenta with rosemary and sage
Fragrant basmati rice
Oak-grilled chicken breast with honey-grain mustard butter
Roasted atlantic salmon with tomato-olive vinaigrette
Warm sourdough bread
Mini creme brulee
Petite chocolate-hazelnut crunch torte
Coffee and a selecetion of teas
45.00/pp

Here's the dessert party menu: The Petit Classics
Tiramasu
Cheesecake
Chocolate Eclair
Pistaccio Cannoli
Chocolate fudge brownies
Linzer diamonds
Cream horns
Fruit tarts
Includes fruit punch, hot coffees, and teas with flavored syrups ans sticks, sugars, cream and honey
$28.00/pp but I cut the chocolate eclair, pistaccio cannoli, and cream horns so now it's down to $24.00/pp

I'll be just about around the minimum before tax and service charges. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately we didn't get a taste testing. The California Grill doesn't do taste testing but I was told we can eat there for dinner and get an idea of their style for flavors and what not. I heard it's top notch food. We got a .pdf file of different menus to pick from and that's what I picked. It all sounds delish and I can't wait to have some of it!!

I didn't see an example of what our tables would look like. I just printed a picture of what style of table setting I'd like and picked the linens for it. It's going to be gorgeous.

Franks is amazing. There's several little tables with different themes all "done up" and they are all so beautiful. Right when you walk in you see a huge wedding cake. It's absolutely beautiful. Then there's this glass case filled with chocolate favor ideas, guest books, server sets, etc. Then there's this lounge area with a coffee table and books to look at for ideas. It's wonderful.

Movin' right along...I finished writing the ceremony script. Tell me what you think.

Opening Words of the Officiant

Good morning friends! We have been invited here today to share with Gail and Ian a very important moment in their lives. In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife.

Honoring Those Not Present

At this time, we would also like to honor those who could not be with us today. We offer a special remembrance of Cecilia Genaway, Leighton Genaway, Terry Genaway, and Geraldine Bernard. Although they are not here with us physically, we feel blessed they are with us in spirit on this beautiful day. We bow in silence to honor their memory.

The Meaning of Marriage

A good marriage must be created.
In the marriage, the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once each day,
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each person can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person
It is being the right partner.

Reading by [insert name here]

1 Corinthians 13
Love. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Statement of Intent

Gail, do you take Ian to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, honor him, inspire him, protect and provide for him above all others and to be with him through all of life’s challenges, chaos and joys? Bride: “I do.”

Ian, do you take Gail to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, honor her, inspire her, protect and provide for her above all others and to be with her through all of life’s challenges, chaos and joys? Groom: “I do.”

Wedding Vows

Do we have the rings? Gail and Ian, please face each other and join your hands, and in so doing, join your hearts.

Ian, please repeat after me.
I, Ian, take you Gail / to be my wife / from this time onward. / To join with you / and to share all that is to come. / To be faithful and honest / to give and to receive / to speak and to listen / to inspire and to respond. / A commitment made in love / kept in faith / and eternally made new.

Gail, would you please repeat after me.
I, Gail, take you Ian / to be my husband / from this time onward. / To join with you / and to share all that is to come. / To be faithful and honest / to give and to receive / to speak and to listen / to inspire and to respond. / A commitment made in love / kept in faith / and eternally made new.

Lighting of Unity Candle

The two outside candles have been lit by their parents to represent their lives to this moment. The lights, representing the faith, wisdom, and love they have received from their parents, are distinct, each burning alone. They light the center candle to symbolize the union of their lives. From now on their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves.

Declaration of Marriage and Introduction of Newlyweds

Ian, you may kiss your bride.

Ladies and gentleman, it is my great honor and privilege to present to you for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Ian S------!

I also picked our songs for the video:

Thanks hun! They're going to wear the same color shoes...apple to match the dress.

It's actually a cell phone company commercial. This girl's boyfriend is away and he takes pictures with his cell phone and texts the pictures to his girlfriend. The last picture he sends to her is her sitting on a bench. There's a really nice love song playing and I'm dying to track it down.

Got it! :thumbsup2 It's Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg! It's so gorgeous. I love it.

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yes
There's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you

I've seen the paths that your eyes wander down
I want to come too

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you

No one understands me quite like you do
Through all of the shadowy corners of me

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I think that possibly
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yes
There's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you

I've seen the waters that make your eyes shine
Now I'm shining too

Because
Oh
Because I've fallen quite hard over you

If I didn't know you I'd rather not know
If I couldn't have you I'd rather be alone

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much
All of the while I never knew

All of the while
All of the while it was you
You

Oh my gosh you are on a roll! Your invites turned out so awesome!! I can't wait to see that aisle runner popcorn::. I'm going to do one too but just can't find exactly where I want to buy it :confused3. Your ceremony script is really beautiful. I can't believe how fast September is coming!!

I bought dress #2 on eBay for $149.99 on eBay but it's in white not ivory! I like it better than the last one. Here's pics:

I love it!

BTW, DFMIL purchased Mickey Mouse MP3 players at $11.99/ea. off eBay and we're going to pre-load it with the WDW Album for favors! I really hope everyone likes them!!

I dyed my crinny. I was suppose to be red but it came out pinkish. I used Rit scarlet, I'll have to try Rit wine tomorrow and see if I get a deeper red color.
