Are we crazy for going to Lake Tahoe this weekend? I've never been there, and we are renting a cabin, but I'm wondering about crowds, fires, etc. Any thoughts?

How did it go?
I had heard that most scheduled fire works displays were still on for the weekend.

Tahoe was great. We skipped the fireworks on the lake because of the huge crowds. By the next day, many people cleared out and the area was quite enjoyable. Cabin was awesome and tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

Did you stay on the north or south shore?

We stayed at the South Shore. Rented a very nice 3br cabin. It was perfect for our family of 8. Had a Saturday lunch buffet at Harrah's. The buffet was on the 18th floor and the view of the lake and mountains was incredible.

Wow - sounds beautiful!!! My cousin is getting married there on August 1st, so I'm going to be there that weekend. :)

Trying to decide whether to fly or drive, but am leaning towards flying.

Did you remember to pay your Nevada State Taxes at the local casino so that I don't have to! :lmao:

My DH and I got married up there - outdoors in the snow! It was beautiful and we didn't feel the cold at all, not the guests were another matter;)
