Pop Century Resorts - What's the scoop?

Sorry, if this has been discussed but does anyone know if this new resort is on hold or are there real plans to open up in 2002 or 2003?

I really would like to stay here if it was possible over our next few trips.

I know Disney has made big cutbacks; so, I figure this resort completion maybe a long way out in the future, now. TIA

I`m interested too, would like to stay there in Feb. 2003. Hope it`s open by then. Wasn`t part of the resort done already? I think I`ll be calling soon to make my res. see what happens? Good luck!

...on Monday and, according to him, the actual construction is almost completed. They do not,however, have a target date yet for its opening.....(the "higher-ups" are trying to make a business decision on its fate)

Wish I had paid better attention when I spoke to CRO the other day as I asked about PC. Actually I was looking for ANY room under $380 for 1 night. I remember it being after our trip this month but just barely. I really think it opens later next month. BTW for April 27th there were no, and I mean no rooms available at any price except for 1 room at the Yacht Club for $380 for the night. We will adjust our travel plans. Looks like things are picking up. :)

...did you try using any codes? There are plenty out there, so you SHOULD be able to get a room for less than $380/nite....

Just got back from WDW. Stayed at CBR and they are still working on the Pop Century resort. Some of the buildings are almost finished while others have lots to be done yet. Talked to a CM and he said the plans are to open it all at once instead of in phases as originally planned. He thought opening was sometime in winter 2002/2003.
