Econo Lodge Maingate

We got an unbeatable rate at the Econo Lodge Maingate (which is I believe by 192 & World Drive). I did find some very old usenet posts complaining about it - but has anyone stayed there recently? We plan to be in the parks all day, so we are just looking for a ecent place to sleep.

In spite of all the warnings we stayed there last September....at $29 a night we gave it a shot....trying to save some money.

It is clean enough...pretty run down, and beat up but close to Disney. If you just purely want to sleep and shower it is ok. We stayed there a week and it worked out ok for us, we will not return..but we did ok there. The older posts are a bit exaggerated, it was not as bad as they said..it is not the Ritz but for the price...what can you say...

The Econologe Maingate is a nice hotel..my cousin just stayed there and had a great time..they just had a million dollar renovation and i thought the place was clean and the rooms were fine when i visited. They got a great rate of $34 ( taxes included) through hotelmartusa.com. When they called the hotel direct to book they were told there was a $1.75 service fee per night. But through the company he used ,they waived the fee. Anyhow i think for the price you cannot beat this property
